"Not sure why this place is not full when we go here? The food is excellent and authentic. The service is fantastic. The portions are large. And the drinks are also great. Maybe because our family likes Greek food more than others. We had brunch there on Sunday and we got the Champagne package, 3 different type of juices and fresh fruit for the glasses. "Wow! When I walked in, I was immediately impressed by how clean and beautiful the interior was. I received a warm welcome from the gentleman at the counter—who, unfortunately, I didn't catch the name of—who assisted me in selecting my meal. Right now, I'm thoroughly enjoying some truly AMAZING food! I ordered the lamb gyro platter with a hummus appetizer and rosewater iced tea, and they even surprised me with a complimentary piece of baklava! Every single bite has me saying, "Mmm!" It's fresh, tender, and perfectly seasoned. I can't wait to come back. This place is absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much, everyone! Delicious!"

"Myself, Father and Uncles come to Famous at least once a week! The food is consistently good (try the Cheesy Chicken Calabash Sub), the Waitresses are very kind, patient and are very good at what they do! If you get lucky enough to have Tammy as awaitress, you?re gonna have a great time. The pizza?s are great, the subs are great, the salads are HUGE, the cannolis aredelicious and the atmosphere is generally pretty awesome. If you come on a weekday for lunch, it?s going to be consistentlybusy with an eclectic clientele that speaks to the speed and precision of the cooks, the welcoming atmosphere and the overallwonderful aura of the restaurant. If you?re in the area, it?s a short hop off 85, it?s accessible and it?s a great place. Don?tthink about it, do. Oh, it?s not expensive either. "The calf and pasta dishes are equally delightful, reminiscent of authentic Italian bread from Mulberry Street. The fried calamari is a fantastic starter—it's generous enough to share between two people. I also recommend trying the freshly made Sicilian pie (which is square for those not from New York); it's another personal favorite. I've never had a bad meal here. With cold beer on offer, this place is a great neighborhood spot for a cozy meal."

"We asked for two vodka drinks but only had enough for one drink. It was 7:00 in the evening how could you be out of a product at the beginning of the evening. Asked for a bottle of Bud light but didn’t have that either. They suggested a Peroni but they didn’t have that in a bottle either they brought out a draft. I don’t drink draft beer. We ordered two food items to start. The one item is called Dolmades. The Dolmades were canned. No Greek restaurant should serve canned Dolmades. They are a Greek delicacy and should be seved freshly made. The restaurant had seven customers and the two food items still took to long to be served. The inside of the restaurant and the table seating outside looked like the area hadn’t been cleaned in days. At this point the waitress who was very good and apologetic I asked for a bourbon neat and the check. Hookah smoking apparently is their specialty. Sitting outside we chose a table away from a table that Had a cloud of smoke hanging over it. While waiting to place our order the waitress brought the table next to us another Hookah pipe so now we’re sitting between two clouds of smoke. There should either signage or someone telling us that it’s a Hookah smoking area. Being Greek and in the restaurant business all my life it appeared that there was no ownership or management involved in the place that night. I should have known when we made the reservation on open table and saw it was rated 3.5 stars we should have chosen somewhere else. Michael"

"the live music was beautiful, he has a nice voice and has an excellent job on the gitarre. eating was mostly good. Flaming cheese is always a lot of favorite but the ouzomuscheln were strange. the shells on the mush were so incredibly brittle that they break apart with a slight touch. I'm not sure if they were frozen before or what would lead to it, but it did make the broth with all the teeny shredding the dish in it impossible to enjoy. the fish was good, well seasoned and the Greek rice was delicious. I found that there was a little too much of a warm flavor in moussaka (zimt)? nutmeg? whatever it was exaggerated.) overall a good experience and would definitely go back. we had a side of gyro meat and Tzatziki sauce that was fantastic."

"We 've been coming to Maximo 's for at least 10 years. I really thought I 'd done a review, but I guess I never got around to it- until today! My grandparents have had 2 places that they looove to go to eat Sunday lunch- this is the better one. In all honesty, Maximo 's has fantastic gyros, sandwiches, salads, and other Greek fare. Personally, I love their Persian Chicken Kubideh in a wrap and the Philly Cheesesteak as a sandwich or a wrap . The Persian Chicken Kubideh comes with tzatziki sauce, onions, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and green peppers. I prefer to add feta cheese to any sandwich or wrap I try- because feta rocks ! and why not in a Greek restaurant? I prefer their Chicken Caesar salad over the Greek salads, but that 's just my personal preference in taste. My uncle is very much in love with their Greek salads. The Chicken Caesar salad comes with thigh meat which you can change to breast meat if you want- but why would you??? and they season the meat beautifully. The chicken is delightfully tender and wonderfully juicy. Plus, the portion of chicken is fabulous. There 's always a tell-tale sign of whether a restaurant does a good job or not on their particular type of food. When it comes to Greek, I think the falafel tells you all you need to know. The falafel here is great! Perfectly crisp all around, yet moist and piping hot in the inside. They make their falafel out of freshly ground chickpeas not a dried mix and it shows. [I recommend getting the falafels individually, rather than purchasing the appetizer because you get more falafel for your buck while the appetizer comes with pita bread and hummus- why? The kabobs are excellent as well, although they are about double the price of sandwiches/wraps. Give them a shot. The staff is friendly and the food is awesome!"

"Avoid this restaurant at all costs. I had intended to order pizza, but ended up ordering a gyro instead. As a first-time customer, I witnessed another customer ahead of me ordering the same item and recommending it. The host, after a long wait, finally rang him up and brought his order to the table without saying a word. The customer and I chatted for 10 minutes, wondering about the slow service, until the host returned with another gyro for him and tried to give me the one that had been sitting on the table. I politely requested that my gyro, which I had paid for, be made fresh. Two minutes later, the host brought me a gyro that was completely drenched in tzatziki sauce, with wilted white lettuce and a single wilted tomato slice - it was revolting. Throughout the entire experience, the host was friendly and talkative with the white families dining in, showing no concern for the quality of the food that I received. I will never return to this restaurant, it was a disappointing first and last visit."

"We waited for our food for 45 min. The chicken pita sandwich came out on a square bun with none of the sauces that were on the menu and the chicken was so over cooked it was hard. The fries were all cold. The falafel was cold. The chicken kabobs were over cooked and cold. The Pork kabobs were over cooked. The house salads that should have come out with the kabob meals never arrived. We asked for them to take home. Unfortunately for us it was the worst meal we have ever had. There were hardly any patrons in the restaurant. Not sure what the problem was but we will never go back. Who wants to spend $100 to leave most of it on your plate? Absolutely terrible food. "Went here for breakfast with my old man as we have done many times before getting our haircut at Toneys down the way. I'll begin with the walk in. The place is always packed. You go in and I've always been greeted nicely and told to sit anywhere I'd like. One day I'm going to sit with a random person. Lol. I like being able to choose where I sit. The inside could definitely use a make over but it is always clean. The bathrooms need a make over as well but again, they are always clean. All of the items on the walls tell a story and make you wonder what all those stories are. The staff, I've not met one yet that wasn't exceptional. They always smile and seem to be happy to be there. I like the fact that they all seem very comfortable with every customer and know many by name. Now to the great part, the food! I had two eggs scrambled and well done. Bacon. Sausage Pattie's, the home potato's, two biscuits, and French toast. To be fair, this is my usual meal minus the French toast. The food always seems very fresh and cooked well. It always comes to the table hot and I'm always excited about that first bite. My dad had what I had plus pork chops from the grill. He stated that they were pretty good but a bit tough. It didn't stop him from eating it all. Lol. As for the French toast, I was a tad disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it was good. I think it could use a bit more cinnamon and some powdered sugar. It was prepared really good and I enjoyed it, but not as much as I could have. I'd give five stars easily, but the French toast and needs for upgrades are needed. Thanks for what you all do here because you make many people happy."

"Definitely not the same place since Jimmy sold it and stopped working there. I was being nice with 3 stars, ideally 2 1/2, because that 50% gratitude, and as much effort that goes into a food order. Doesn't seem authentic Greek anymore, and the quality of service definitely went down a couple of notches. Tzatziki sauce was horrible. One shouldn't assume you open a restaurant and not have to watch the store or keep the quality in. Oh well, my money is good anywhere and don't have to settle. Work to hard for it!! next..."

"This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I must say *insert drooling emoji*. My husband ordered the beef shawarma plate, while I decided to try the chicken alfredo, which I found intriguing for a Mediterranean spot. I was pleasantly surprised—the alfredo was fantastic! The portion was huge, so I was able to take some leftovers home. My husband enjoyed his beef so much that he completely overlooked the rice, only managing to eat about half of it. The pita was warm and soft, and the Greek salads we had as a starter were delicious. I definitely plan to return with some friends. Oh, and our server was amazing! She was quick, friendly, and managed everything effortlessly, including takeout and phone orders. A great place overall!"

"I ordered take-out and waited 15 minutes while my food sat on the counter because the sole staff got the names wrong. My pastitso had no taste. Everything had a balsmic sauce dribbled over it- yuck. The babaganouj had a distinct burned flavor. I didn't expect green pepper on the salad. Then, the smallest piece of baklava I've seen. Only the hummus was acceptable. Don't bother."

"Loved dinner at Demetri's On the Lake. No wait for a table on the deck, and we only saw three bees yellow jackets despite the heads up from our hostess. Mackenzie took care of our drinks right away and gave us time to peruse the ample menu and dailyspecials. That of course compelled me to go overboard with food, but I loved every bit of it. Started with their loaded potatosoup, then had the Wednesday Wings Special, ten for $5.00. (You MUST order wings when you're this close to Buffalo. It's writteninto the New York State constitution. Look it up. My son beat me to the punch ordering the Buffalo Tator Tots, but that didn'tstop me from getting my own. The menu has TONS of options, especially if you like Greek food like souvlaki and moussaka. I wastempted, but opted for the fried scallops, which tasted even better looking out over Lake Erie. My son had the Texan Burger withOnion Rings, BBQ sauce, tomatoes and lettuce. My wife and daughter are less adventurous and went with very generous helpings ofchicken fingers and fries, but we all walked away with leftovers for tomorrow. It was just what the doctor ordered after a 7 1 2hour drive with sporadic torrential downpours. Now, I'm going to drift into a food coma and dream of hot wings and stickyfingertips while the Mets spank the Braves in Atlanta."

"We dined in and unfortunately, our experience was not great. While we were ordering, another customer came back to complain that his order had been messed up, which should have raised our red flags. After placing our order, we waited 40 minutes for our food without any communication from the staff. When we inquired after 30 minutes, we were told they were overwhelmed with online orders. When the food finally arrived, two out of the four meals were completely incorrect. We ended up spending $57, including drinks, which felt like a waste given the service we received. It was clear that the staff were either not trained adequately to handle the volume or were simply overwhelmed, as they didn’t even know how to issue a refund for one of the gyros that was supposed to be chicken but wasn’t what we ordered—essentially, they messed up the order twice. It's disappointing because my wife and son have had positive experiences here during the day."
