"I wish I can give it zero stars and it was so bad I had to right a review , I usually order from the sushi spot sakura tokyo on Nostrand and pacific but this 1 on sterling was new and I wanted to try It , plus they replaced the old sushi spot here on Sterling which was way better , the food here was so bad I don't even eat it and it was expensive , 17$ for chicken teriyaki and 15$ for the Jason special roll I got , the chicken tasted like it was microwaved ,it was rubbery , the sauce was bad ,didn't taste like Japanese teriyaki sauce , and the rice was small container , the sushi was horrible , the sushi looked like it was rolled by the instant sushi roller supermarkets use and not by hand because all the pieces were the same size and too much rice in the sushi roll , the fish on the sushi roll was trash ,didn't taste fresh ,only thing saving the roll was the sauce , I paid 34$ for chicken teriyaki and Jason special roll , I said to myself it better be good for being that expensive , and food taste like microwave food ,I'll never order again , it's that bad that I had to write a review and I don't write reviews unless I felt like I've been wrong'd and I have because I paid $34 for a meal , $3 tip to delivery man and it was garbage , the old Japanese spot this replaced was way better , this food may look good but chicken was rubbery and tough to chew ,the white rice container was small ,and that chicken teriyaki order was 17$ smh , sushi roll taste worse than supermarket sushi , way worse , u can tell it wasn't rolled by hand and rolled with sushi roller , u can youtube what a sushi roller is"

"The sushi was outstanding, and we had a wonderful lunch. I chose three rolls: avocado, shiitake mushroom, and pickled ginger, along with an order of scallop sashimi. I have a fiery passion for pickled ginger, and despite its simplicity, the roll was fantastic! The fish was fresh and delicious, and all the vegetables were incredibly crisp. The menu also features lunch specials like bento boxes, priced at just $9.95, which include miso soup, salads, a large sashimi selection, and excellent tempura items. There are even non-traditional dishes like lobster tempura and yam and eel miso soup. My best friend opted for a bento box and claimed the California roll was among the best she’s had in DC. She looked blissful biting into her shrimp tempura, which speaks volumes about her experience! Other tempting non-sushi options included a variety of appetizers, such as grilled octopus, fresh tofu salad with ginger and scallions, and seared beef with enoki mushrooms (for the meat lovers!). The extensive menu is rounded out by noodles, rice, and various teriyaki choices. We experienced quick and friendly service, making this a fantastic lunch spot in the Tenleytown area. I have no complaints! It’s easily accessible via the Tenleytown Metro (red line), and I will definitely return to try more of the intriguing sushi dishes, like the Baked Scallop Roll. The restaurant also offers a separate dinner menu. With great sushi at reasonable prices, I’ll certainly be back next time I'm in the area! For now, I’ll satisfy my sushi cravings at Sizzling Express."
