"I had the roast pork, which was incredibly tender, moist, and so flavorful that I didn’t even need the extra lime. The black beans were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of liquid to soak into the rice without turning into soup. The sweet plantains were caramelized just right, achieving a perfectly tender texture while still having a slight bite and crispy edges.
My father tried the fried pork shreds, which were slightly less flavorful but still expertly prepared, with well-rendered fat combining beautifully with the tender meat. The entire place was spotless, and the service was extremely friendly. I mentioned to the woman at the counter (who I believe is the owner) that this was the best Cuban food I’d had in 10 years, and she beamed with pride. I can’t wait to go back for breakfast (Chicharron Breakfast?! Yes, please!) and for lunch (croquettes sandwich!)."
