"The guacamole made fresh to order far exceeded what I've had at the Mission in Arizona, though it would have benefited from some pepitas or pomegranate seeds for added texture. The ceviche verde made with the fish of the day was beautifully presented and tasted even better. For our main dish, we chose the signature LA PARRILLADA to share among 2 to 3 people. This sizzling skillet came loaded with a variety of meats and shrimp, accompanied by all the necessary trimmings. It was a great choice, but I think next time we might opt for a selection of different tacos instead. For dessert, we enjoyed churros that might just be the best I've ever had in the U.S. This is notable since my children love churros and we've sampled them in Chicago's Humboldt Park and various places around the Chicagoland area, as well as in California, Arizona, and other states. In short, they were a tasty and surprisingly light treat! I would have never expected to find such a gem of Mexican cuisine on Long Island. The only other Mexican restaurant I cherish is Libertad in Skokie, IL, which is also in an unexpected location. A quick note: the noise level was quite high as the place was packed before 5 PM, and the music was too loud for intimate conversation. While the decor didn't particularly appeal to my taste—it's modern but not sleek—there's no denying that the food is fantastic. This experience made my trip to Long Island even more special."
