"When my grandparents requested extra lemons for their tea, the waiter brought them an entire bowl, which was a nice touch. Although my sister's boyfriend arrived a bit late, we were not pressured to order without him, unlike some places where that happens. It turned out that my step-grandmother's son went to college with the owners, who are also FSU alumni, and one of them stopped by to chat with her about her kids, which was lovely.
Due to graduation, the menu was limited, but they were very accommodating of dietary restrictions, including a celiac who avoids all grains and a vegetarian who doesn’t eat seafood. All six of us had excellent options for our appetizers and entrees. I ordered the filet, which was cooked perfectly between medium-rare and medium, just as I requested, and the asparagus was perfectly done, too. A good sign of attentive service for me is that no one's glasses were ever empty.
After spending time in New Mexico, I realize I might have forgotten how impressive prompt service and genuine hospitality can be. I will definitely return to this restaurant next time I'm in Tallahassee to try the regular menu."
