"when we reached our 915 clock reservation, there was no one at the Hostess-Desk. I went to talk to someone in the takeout area to see what's going on, they told me to wait for someone to come out. we waited a good 4.5 minutes until the host finally comes. He didn't apologize for waiting. I just set us up. the waiter didn't say hello or imagined himself. it was just ready to take away our order immediately. eating was okay, nothing special. overall it was just ok. the customer service was missing and again it was not special. I wouldn't go back. too many other good restaurants around with good service and eating to deal with it. it's too bad, I was very excited to eat here."

"Four generations!. I had dinner with my parents at the Lotus Garden. I have taken my own kids there all of their lives. Now, I take my grandkids! The Lotus has been there all this time for a reason, the food is great! Egg rolls and barbecued pork are house made and delicious! Best sweet and sour pork and chicken you 've ever had. Not to mention, chow mein, lo mein, fried rice, moo goo gai pan, and Szechwan. Some things they have done the same way forever, the cracker and bun basket anyone? Many items on their American menu are not to be missed either. Best Manhattan 's ever! Best cocktail? I say Rum Cow, but fabulous tropical drinks reign supreme here! Don 't forget to say hey to Jimmy! He was the star of the show there in the 70s (still is ha! , when I was a little high school kid working in the 'coffee shop ', which is now the buffet next door. Hopefully the Lotus Garden will be serving great food for 50 more years! And, to the gentleman who has issues with the decor, the Chinese kitsch is part of it man!!!"

"I ordered takeout on Postmates. The beef in oyster sauce was basically beef in oyster sauce soup. The chow mein proteins were overcooked and there was no flavor. Im going to guess they were cooked separately and added to the dish toward the end which is why no flavor set in. No color to the noodles. The dishes were entirely prepared improperly. I am 40, I have never sent a complaint to a restaurant but these dishes were terrible. Couldn’t even stomach the chow mein. The buffalo wings were decent but not even an option for ranch much less the traditional blue cheese dressing for dipping. What I received does not look like what is being posted by these positive reviewers. Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I’m a well traveled certified cook, although I don’t cook for a living anymore, and have been in restaurants for much of my young life. It’s better to have 5 things on a menu you do really well than a huge menu where you cut corners and utilize a large amount of pre-prepared ingredients that aren’t allowed to fully cook as intended to create a cohesive single dish. Minimize the menu and retrain on popular dishes. I’m not sure why the reviews are so mixed but it seems they’re really weak on their takeout. It also seems they have been open a long time and maybe inflating food prices are making it hard with such a large menu but I can’t believe people that care about keeping their business at all would let such poorly prepared food leave the store. It’s astounding they’re still in business. Or maybe just have one good cook and I got the bad one? I dunno. The photo is the “chow mein with soft noodles” that I couldn’t eat. I thought of trying to repurpose the ingredients and make it taste better but the smell when I opened it today (ordered last night) was less than appetite inducing and I will be trashing it. Go ahead and google “chow mein with soft noodles” and let me know if you would consider what I received as the same dish."

"This is THE BEST Chinese restaurant I have EVER been to. I'm here right now and decided to go glance at the google reviews out of our curiosity and was SHOCKED to see some of the harsh and negative ones. I've been coming here since I was a little girl, and my dad even before that, and we have never had a bad experience here. Eating in or carry out. The service is fast and the food is plentiful, hot, and delicious. It is family run, you'll often see one of their kids doing homework at one of the tables inside. They care about their customers and are always happy to accommodate requests, so I really don't understand some of these reviews. My only guess is they got something they normally don't get and we're absolutely shocked when it wasn't what they were expecting? I have no idea because the food here is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend the Almond Boneless Chicken, its all my family ever gets when we come here. Please do support this local, family-owned small business, you seriously won't regret it!!"

"My family and I visited this restaurant and were completely neglected by the waitstaff for 30 minutes straight. Despite trying to get their attention and politely request to place our order, we were continuously ignored. I would advise avoiding the tall waiter as he was incredibly disrespectful, prompting us to ultimately leave. I would rate this experience a zero if possible, but since I can't, I give it one star even though it doesn't deserve that. Stay away from this place."

"This place was there forever and that says a lot. I've been here since I met my Cape Cod friend when I was 15 and he brought me here. That was 36 years ago (and I married this friend). I love it and whenever we visit it is a popular place to stop. The decor is the old Chinese restaurant of the school. The music is soothing, the entrance is so nostalgic. The people who work there are very friendly and the prices are great. The food is so good and fresh that you want to try everything. Who needs to update? I love it as it is and hope they never update. It's nice to have a place to make you feel good. I also introduced my children and other family members here. I'm sorry it took me so long to write this review. Come here for the nostalgia, good food and friendly faces."

"I ordered delivery on Saturday night at 7:30. I ordered a General Tso Combination Plate with Crab Rangoons. I was told I needed to add “anything” to meet delivery minimum so I added a can of soda. It took 20 minutes to arrive, but I am just down the street. I did not receive the can of soda I had to add on. The chicken was hard on the inside and soggy on the outside with no sauce. The rice was bland. The Crab Rangoons were okay. Everything just seemed like it sat out for a while. The quality of food has changed since I had dined in years ago. It was disappointing when I had paid $32 with tip and didn’t even eat half of it. Maybe it was just a bad night, but I wasn’t expecting that quality at 7:30 on a Saturday when they close at 10."

"The wonton soup was generously filled with sliced scallion greens and several pieces of pork. The broth was flavorful but not too salty. The edamame was plentiful and delicious. "1. after many reviews and pictures on fb food group. we sat and served hot tee and water. the waiter came back and took the drink order and left menus. came back a few minutes later with drinks and gave us more time to watch over the menu. a few minutes later he came back and commanded. eating came in very reasonable time frame, piping hot, wing, chicken finger, huh and bark teriyaki was perfect and juicy, all the other on pupu platter was great. inlays by kung pao iii delight, marco polo delight and egg foo yong were vaporous and very good, woman liked that efy gravy was on the side that is better, as rest on this wise. service was very good, waiter was attentive, but not disturbing. the price was very reasonable for everything we have. pupu for 3, large rangoon, lg beef teriyaki, the 3 main side shells, 2 scorpion bowls for 2 and 2 pepsi’s was just under $153 in front of top. try it better than that everywhere."

"Dragons Gate Restaurant, Pembroke Pines Florida. BAD CHOICE!!! My wife and I placed a takeout order which came out to about $38 and change. We ordered the following: Two Egg Rolls. Kung Po Chicken, Moo Shu Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein and Fried Wanton's with Meat. We ordered the Sezuan dishes medium. All the food was totally tasteless. How can a chef make red and green peppers tasteless? The Egg Rolls tasted rancid. It was totally inedible. One bite and I had to spit it out. The Lo Mein was very mushy, cooked and tasted bad like it was spoiled. Our opinion was that it was just old. Who knows how long the noodles were sitting in a pot. The Moo Shu Chicken was also tasteless and the pancakes hard and cracked. The Fried Wantons tasted stale. They had a very strange taste. My wife and I eat a lot of local Chinese, Japanese and Thai Restaurants and we have never had anything this bad. We just decided to throw the food in the trash. We ate about 7:15-7:30 and soon after my wife became nauseous and felt like throwing up. About an hour later I felt the same way. We don't usually worry about blowing $38.00 bucks on anything but after we both became sick I decided to call the restaurant and ask them to credit my credit card. The Manager gave us a lot of **** and a scream fest started. All I can say is DO NOT EAT THERE! And first thing this coming Monday Morning is to call my Credit Card Company and put a stop payment on this order and then I will call the Health Department and report them for selling bad food. We have never had this type of experience. As a last note: If you want to eat good food oriental food in the Hollywood area, go ahead and eat at Emerald Coast in Pembroke Pines and Eddie Hills Sushi in Hollywood. These two restaurants are what we base other restaurants on."

"Upon placing my order for PuPu for 2 and seafood delight which came up to 40 dollars and change i paid with a $50 and she only gives back a few coins we i ask where the rest of my change 9 dollars to be exact she gave it to me. "The food is good but the customer service is awful. Takes away your appetite. I called to order food for a meeting I had to attend. When I asked how long it would take for the order to be ready I was told between 20 to 30 minutes. When I came to pick up, the order was not ready and 40 minutes had passed. When I calmly explained to the person helping that I only ordered because I was told the order would be ready in 30 minutes he started yelling at me. I was talking very respectfully and quietly yet he started yelling!!!"
