"The woman at the front desk, I’m assuming to be the owner. Is very rude. In short I’m warning you the bad reviews are not rumors they are truthful facts! I sometimes read the bad reviews and think they may be false but they are not when it comes to this place!!! You can read the story of what happened if you’d like but I would not order from here unless you want to deal with a very rude person for a very simple order.I first found this place through a Doordash order and saw it seemed nice and my mother really likes Chinese. The first time my mom put in an order she asked for extra bean sprouts, shrimp, and an egg in her shrimp fried rice she made sure to repeat that she wanted extra shrimp and bean sprouts as it is difficult to find them at some places and she really enjoys them. When I went to pick up the order the woman laughed at me and told me how my mother repeated the order multiple times and how she gave her a headache then goes just kidding as if that makes saying my mother gives her a headache is ok. At this time I just shrugged it off but when I got home the food didn’t have the extra bean sprouts and there were maybe 4 shrimp in the whole thing total. The second time we ordered, maybe 3 days later, my mother made sure to kindly repeat that she wanted extra shrimp and bean sprouts as it was missing the first time and once again when I went to pick it up the lady told me how my mother was a nuisance and gave her a headache then said just kidding again. Well guess what? We get home and one the food tasted old and it was missing the extra bean sprouts and shrimp again as it had like 3 shrimp in the whole thing!! So my mother calls them to kindly explain to the owner the she may want to ensure the the chefs are making the food fresh and adding what was ordered and the lady tells my mother “$15 does not make me any richer or poorer you can take you order somewhere else you are giving me a headache!” So my mom replies “Ma’am I’m not trying to be rude I just noticed that it wasn’t as fresh as the first time and it was missing what we ordered so I thought I should let you know” and the lady replies again “You are giving me a headache do not order from here again!” and hangs up.Back to what I was originally saying about how I found this place through door dash she was rude then too but I had ignored it at the time. I went to pick up the order and the owner was taking an order over phone and a young lady was standing next to her doing nothing so I asked the young lady if my order was ready and she replied that she would go check. As she begins to walk away the owner stops her and says no you will take this order and makes her take three orders over the phone while she (the owner) walks away and vanishes into the back somewhere. 20 minutes later she returns and asks what I want despite the fact that she knew why I was there and stopped the young lady from checking on the order for me. And yes, after this I had to wait another 15 minutes for the order to be finished."

"This family owned and operated restaurant opened in 2002 under the direction of “Mother of the Family” Chef Lee on Warren Avenue in East Providence. If you aren’t paying close attention, you might miss the sign hanging outside. When you step inside, you are standing in a narrow room where there is a ‘bar’ to the right, which faces the very small open kitchen. It honestly feels like you’re walking into someone’s home. That’s how intimate it is. We were brought into the next room of the restaurant (you could call this the living room!), which had four tables. This room was attached to another private dining room with a table that could fit six or more. Truthfully, it has always been my experience there that you might have to wait a few minutes to be greeted by your server. Don’t let it turn you off. Whenever I have been in there, she’s been the only one serving…but once she is at your table you can expect everything to come out in perfect timing. What we ordered: Steamed Vegetable Dumplings ($7.99) BiBimBap with Chicken ($13.99) BiBimBap with Shrimp ($13.99) Complimentary on the table: Kimchi (a traditional fermented Korean side dish made of vegetables with a variety of seasonings. It is often described as spicy and sour.In traditional preparation kimchi is often allowed to ferment underground in jars for months) Pickled Cucumber (OiMuChim) Pickled Celery We happily munched away on the small dishes that were placed on our table – the pickled cucumber is always my favorite. It’s sweet, cool and refreshing. I always have the kimchi when I when I’m there but honestly I have a love hate relationship with this dish. I love the spice, but there are some kinds of kimchi that sit oddly on my taste buds! Almost like it’s a bit sour. I think everyone is different, but I never go without having some when I am having Korean food. Our steamed dumplings came out shortly after. I was so happy and so was Chelsea. Our waitress brought over the steamed basket and removed the lid. Through the steam I could see Chelsea’s eyes light up (haha). Talk about fresh! The dumplings were a delight and I could have eaten three more baskets. I wanted to ease her into Korean cuisine and I thought there was no better way then BiBimBap. If you’re not familiar with the dish: The word literally means “mixed rice”. Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang. A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating. There is nothing better than the BiBimBap at Sun & Moon. It’s easy to taste how fresh it is, and every dish is definitely made to order. I made sure to snap a picture of our bowls before we stirred them all together and devoured them. One of the best little treasures when eating BiBimBap is scraping up the crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot. It’s absolutely to die for. If you are looking to support a great local family restaurant please remember to think outside of the box (the box being Providence) and visit Sun & Moon! goodeatsmundial.com"
