"My wife and I dined here this Saturday evening. We were pleased that we got to sit near the windows for a lovely sunset view, but that was about it. First of all, the entire area is so cramped that we felt like we were a part of the conversations of the three tables surrounding us. We also had a major issue with service. Simone was our waiter. Our first interaction was him coming around with the bread platter. He looked at my wife and myself and said, “you look like you never turn down bread!” Admittedly, we aren’t small people, but we have never had it verbally called out at a meal, and it was a very awkward moment for Simone when he realized we understood what he was saying. We ordered a round of cocktails and our starters. Never once were we told about the lobster specials, which is a shame. We love lobster and would have happily ordered it if we had known. Simone pressured us to put in our entree order immediately. We felt as if we were being pushed out. Maybe it’s because we like to frequent the Black Pearl when we visit Dunedin, but I was not impressed. Our first round of drinks was lovely, but when my wife ordered a second white linen cocktail, what was brought to her was something full of sweet and sour mix. Holding my glass up to hers, mine was clear and hers was yellow. We were able to get a replacement, but it was still subpar. Our starters were pretty good- the escargot and onion soup. We were rushed through those for our entree, and when those came we weren’t impressed. When Simone came to check on us and asked how it was my wife said “It’s…” and before she could finish he responded with, “excellent!” And walked away. At this point it was obvious we were just trying to be pushed out the door. We were rushed and when asked, totally steamrolled. At the point of finishing our meals my wife suggested our typical bottle of port to share over a desert. I was done. We asked for our check and we’re given some electric device where we paid and tipped."

"a classic of the great Gatsby era with so much history, but so amazingly updated. the best elevator system has ever impressed me because we never had to wait for a minute! social table for breakfast brunch was very good with a free mimosa. the new aaa 4 diamant maritana restaurant was a welcome culinary adventure perfect for a celebration with impeccable service from our waiter don. the beacon pool beach bar service was for the laying in the sun. Just to be clear, our “jumbo”wings were moderate for $4.50 per wing, but hey we knew that we paid for the sugar sand view on the golf private beach. Now nothing could spoil the days on this golden sand, but the umbrella service types were hit or mis, but we appreciate that they have a physical job in the hot sun and I would have been just as lazy as some of them in this age who left handkerchiefs on the chairs all day, glued with head down to their phones and headphones make them oblivious. but also some big bicep standouts were running dynamo, dig holes for guests sunshades and make sure everyone had a place on the beach as promised, the others we came with a hypothesis that this is the entrance sprosse on the hotel service manager and some prove their work ethic and movement, some we observed probably won. the rooms were clean, well equipped and daily from a very congenital staff, our high-time garden view room had a beautiful view of the golf pool from the window. spa oceana service was excellent for massage facial treatment, but a few massages would have a 4-6 weeks reservation ahead and this was a much quieter trip, the roof top room was nice and I hope they offer a day back room service to this location, from now on they can go to the poolbar and bring back champagne food to the dach and it seems that everyone was a bit peckish after their spain services. The best secret we discovered last day is the Don Club, whose well-ordered sports center has a locker room, whirlpool, steam bath, sauna. this was the perfect place at check-out day after leaving our room and checking our baggage with the bell cap so that we can enjoy the pool beach then further after we refresh at the end of the day before our return home. st. petersburg has bloomed and we enjoyed the dali museum doc fords on the pier but left so much to do when we return. thanks to all those who did the don cesar, seem like a new second home, and we appreciate all those who had the vision to save and restore this great old being to its glory."

"The entrance may appear unassuming and somewhat rough around the edges, but don’t let that deter you; this place is well worth a stop for a meal. The bar area at the front, which is partially outdoors, is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are fantastic. One downside is that this is also where smokers gather, which can be a drawback for non-smokers like us (though we did enjoy sitting outside during a previous visit). So, we opted to head inside instead. The waitstaff is friendly and quick with drinks and food service. If you arrive early, you can expect faster service since the restaurant tends to fill up later. The menu changes frequently and often features a catch of the day. Additionally, they offer to cook your fresh catch if you book in advance. I particularly love the lobster, which comes with a generous side of potatoes, veggies, salad, and more. The appetizers are fantastic, especially the jumbo shrimp. The coconut shrimp is an extraordinary main dish; the shrimp are large, coated with a thick, crispy, and sweet coconut layer—definitely some of the best coconut shrimp you’ll find in Florida. Beer enthusiasts will be delighted, as the Castaway has an impressive selection of beers—over dozens to choose from. You can savor your favorite seafood while enjoying a beer tasting experience, and there are draft specials for those on a budget. When we visited this past Christmas, we were pleasantly surprised that some entrée prices had actually decreased since our last visit two years ago. The Castaway is ideal for families or a group of adults looking for a fun dinner with drinks. The snapper dish is one of my favorites, and the grouper is simply delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal here. While many seafood restaurants can be a bit pricey, the Castaway offers great value for the quality of food, service, and unique atmosphere. Whether you are headed to Key Largo or Key West, make sure to include a visit to this restaurant on your journey through the Keys."

"The brunch was incredibly disappointing and not just for the price point. The cost was $165 a person (you are charged in advance plus gratuity) and by the time we arrived the food was totally destroyed. The cheese plates on the buffet where so mangled that other parts and bits of food had been smashed into the cheese…this grossness was never cleaned up or removed. One of the offerings for kids was a donut “bar” that’s a lofty description of one small bowl of cold donut holes. Omelette bar was good and at the basic expectation but literally everything else was picked over or missing all together. Then let’s talk about the small plates of leather like bits of ham sitting on book shelves under the heat lamps…honestly I think there was other meat as well but I couldn’t identify it. In the same section was mozzarella and tomato’s, another part I kept thinking would be refreshed but that didn’t happen. Overall I was told it would also be a kid friendly event but the candy bar (which was lovely by the way) cannot be the only kid friend food. Our kids would have eaten the veggie sushi but unfortunately it had turned brown and I couldn’t subject them to that. So next is the shellfish, we love shellfish and it was one of the reasons we decided to do this for Easter (other than kid friendly, etc)…the oysters had turned lukewarm as had the the shrimp and it was deeply concerning. It did not appear that they had the fresh seafood on a timer for refreshing at all. The service staff really seemed to do their best with the situation but overall I would never recommend the Boston Harbor hotel to anyone for their holiday brunch."

"Extremely disappointing experience at Ocean Grill. We went as a splurge night on a girl’s trip. We arrived, and a man (not sure if he worked there or was just hanging out at the host stand) started asking us if we had boyfriends and hitting on us. It was extremely uncomfortable. We then went to our table, and the discomfort continued! Our waiter and the many wait staff felt like they were just staring at us all dinner. I appreciate attentive waiters, but this was extremely overkill. I don’t think we went 5 minutes without a wait staff coming over. Our waiter was very rude to us, and he seemed annoyed by our questions. We felt very uncomfortable, and we even considered calling the manager after. Drinks: I got a cosmopolitan, one friend got the green passion, and the either had a Bellini. The cosmopolitan was $22 and subpar. Green passion was good. Bellini was subpar and $20 because my friend asked for it to not be frozen (chilly evening). Food: we got two order of the pasta with clams and one agnolotti. The agnolotti was extremely rich and a large portion. It was quite good. The pasta with clams was very light and small portion. They did not bring a dish or small fork for the clams, so it was quite messy. We got a side of grilled veggies, which was a small bowl of zucchini and yellow squash. The bread was good, but we kept having to ask for more. I got the chocolate cheesecake for dessert, which was extremely dense. It did not come with ice cream or whipped cream- it was just a slice of cheesecake with some berries. It was very heavy and needed something else. Overall, we paid $220 for a mediocre at best meal. I would not recommend this restaurant. The view and location are amazing, but that’s about it."
