"Small place, pretty plain inside. Mostly open area with tables and a sushi barCame in and was asked all you can eat or regular menu. Wasn't sure so they gave me both. Looked them over and decided to go with all you can eatThey do the ordering in rounds here, and you can do up to 4 rounds. They don't limit you but have Recommendations ofn3 rolls and 20 nigiri a round. They also have the standard AYCE rules about charging full price for unfinished items and riceOrdered 2 rolls and 8 nigiri to start. The Japanese lasagna baked roll is called crawfish over cheese and was good. Nice take on a classic. Also got the Tex mex roll and it was good but not as spicy as I'd hoped. Nigiri was good, fresh but small. Had all the usual suspects, tuna, salmon, yellowtail etc. I like more fish than rice and was opposite here but very tasty and freshFor round 2 I tried the shrimp tempura and tempura bananas. Both were excellent. You get 2 shrimps with the AYCE but was very light and tasty. Banal was really good and was my dessert. I only made it through 2 rounds. Service was a mixed bag. Server was friendly and very helpful. Answered all my questions and brought food with a smile. Only issue was he spent as much time making out with the hostess as waiting on tables. There was 3 tables while I was there, and we spent a lot of time waiting while they passionately made out, loudly kissing. I've been young and in love so I get it but was weird for sureI'd definitely come back"

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."

"I honestly believe this was the best pork chop I've ever tasted. It was moist juicy, just perfect. The potatoes au gratin that were served with it were so good that, had they let me, I would have gone into the kitchen for another helping. Though what I thought was corn rice casserole turned out to be only loose fried rice mixed with some corn kernels. Still good but not what I was expecting. Although I was totally full, I couldn't pass up the banana pudding, which was just like how Mom made her's except she added meringue on top. My wife had the white chocolate bread pudding which she reluctantly allowed me a sample. She wanted to save it all for herself. Both were very good. No, they were even better than that! Both desserts were excellent! All in all, I really enjoyed my meal, same as my wife. If cleaning my plate was any indication of how much I enjoyed my visit, then it was obvious I rated Rick's on the Square five stars!"

"I brought my family to Tavern on the Square for my daughters birthday. We typically go to the Littleton MA restaurant but decided to try the Shrewsbury location. We have gluten allergies in the family so this restaurant is a favorite treat for the family. However, this time the restaurant fell short of our expectations. The food took much too long to come out, and my daughters meal wasn't what she ordered. She decided to eat it anyway so we wouldn't have to wait for another meal. Also, the noise level was super high and the quality of the rest of our meals were not what we typically experience at the Littleton location. I was disappointed, but we made the best of a night out. Sorry Shrewsbury, we won't be back."

"We have been living around the Stafford region for over 10 years. This is the first time we decided to spend our Sunday family dinner in this restaurant. We had a great dinner. Everything was very fresh and had a great taste. The fajita bovine quesadillas- the beef was very delicate and tasteful and cooked exactly right. In addition, all we ordered- crispy Rind Tacos plate, grilled fish Tacos plate, Taco Al pastor plate, grilled Tilapia/Shrimp with mango sauce and combo plate- were all fresh and very good. The staff was very professional and attentive! We definitely come back!"

"Haha, these guys were fantastic! I had an early dinner with my family during a convention while we were staying at the Hampton Inn across the street. It was late in the evening, and I kept craving Maiko's sushi. Eventually, I decided to swing by and grab some sushi for myself and one of my kids. I sat at the bar and struck up a conversation with the bartender, Oscar (autocorrect tried to mess up his name twice!). Just before my food arrived, the manager was chatting with Oscar, turned to me, and said, “this is the most composed person in here.” It had both Oscar and another staff member laughing. I was thoroughly entertained while waiting for my food and even ordered a shot of rum before it arrived. The sushi was excellent, and we were really pleased with the experience!"

"Watch your debit card transactions!!!! They will add a tip when you do not. I paid for 3 takr home drinks. The horchata and 2 glass bottles, total was $13.11. Checked my bank account. Maria the lady who simply rang me out gave herself a $6 tip. Sad thing is, she was our waitress and we had already tipped her at the table. This is very dishonest. I called to ask for my money back and still haven’t received it. I will not be going back. What a shame. I’ve been going there for 10 years. I will not tip twice! WATCH YOUR CARD TRANSACTIONS!!! "My experience was for pickup through ordering online. The order was made easily with pictures displayed for a majority of the food items which were relatively accurate. The pickup time was unfortunately incorrect stating it would be ready in 15 minutes but it took 25-30 minutes having arrived and waited a bit longer. The smoked salmon sashimi had a bone within it I almost swallowed and the overall taste was ordinary. I was hoping for better, but it is not the worst. I would not say it was worth the price."

"Truly fine food served in a very professional manner at an historic setting. A walk through the grounds and seeing the historical pictures are a must. When we entered the Garden Patio there was a smoke from a decorative fire that was taken care of when we commented as we were seated. The food served was perfectly created and each of four different requests were thoroughly enjoyed."

"The service was great! Ambiance was good; we ate in a covered outdoor area and it was fine if a little noisy. Three taco dinners and two chimichangas all met with approval. A pitcher of margaritas received rave reviews! Cost was a fair value. When I have been here in the past, there was music; there was no music before we left before 8:00pm on a Tuesday. You need to remember this is not a five-star restaurant. What it is is a fun, casual place to enjoy a good Tex-Mex meal and a good time without breaking the bank."

We had excellent service, the food was very good. All Covid requirements were in place and we were comfortable dining inside. "When we finally ordered two entrees, the first one arrived within five minutes but was poorly prepared and unappetizing. We didn't receive the second dish until nearly ten minutes later. Even though there were still Uber Eats orders being taken and picked up, we felt rushed out the door, despite it being less than ten minutes until closing. I've never experienced such rude and unprofessional treatment before. EDIT: I've attempted to call and speak with someone about this issue twice, but both times the same person who served us hung up on me. This is truly disappointing."

"Yikes! Our experience with the food was absolutely disappointing! We ordered two to-go entrees for dinner and made the mistake of not checking them before leaving. They got the protein wrong for the taco salad, even though it was clearly listed on the order ticket, but honestly, having the correct protein wouldn’t have saved it. What we received was a sad excuse for a salad, with maybe a tablespoon of wilted lettuce, mostly refried beans, and just an ounce of shredded chicken topped with a single, mealy half slice of tomato. The fajitas were even worse—completely lacking in seasoning, without any sear on the meat, and accompanied by only two small tortillas. The chips were stale, and the salsa tasted like it had old fish oil in it. The churros were doughy and not at all crispy. Overall, it was a terrible dining experience and a total waste of money. This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we will definitely not be returning."
