"I felt we spent too much for the quality of food we received. The carpaccio should of been labeled as a salad since that what it pretty much what it was. The focus was all the leafy greens covering up how little your are getting of the thinly sliced beef. Calamari was rubbery and chewy. Sadly the tourist traps on the wharf and Cannery row would be comparable. Venison tenderloin was very under seasoned and just tasted of grill markings. I had to leave the parts that I could not chew due to how under cooked it was. It was probably too cold when it got seared on the grill. Over cooked on the outside and under cooked on the inside. Sauce had a weird bitter taste that just intensified the seared flavor. My child’s rib dinner was very tough meat. I couldn’t believe that a chef checked the ribs and was like yeah that is okay. "We arrived and were seated by a lively table celebrating a birthday. The noise level from this table became unbearable. The restaurant was incredibly understanding and moved us almost immediately to a far more quiet area. The food as always was excellent, including cocktails and wine! There were four of us. "this place in williamsburg is good to try. not for eating. not for the drinks (they do not serve cocktails except frozen margarita.) not for bowling (they must wait up toou long have the chance to play, especially the weekend after 8 o'clock) this place is ideal when they visit a concert. the room is huge, with hardwood floors and fortunately well air-conditioned if they are too hot and enthusiastic with the show! I had the opportunity to visit the atomic funk project live show, a group of musicians sings the best of prince and stevie, soul, radio, pop and rock. I danced two hours when I was in my 20s. there's a cover fee."

"We have eaten at the lake view location multiple times and enjoyed the food and service. We tried this location for the first time and were disappointed with the service and food. Our waiter was extremely nice but forgot multiple requests that we had made regarding our order. In total, there were 4-5 mistakes made regarding our requests. We will go back to the lakeview location when it opens but not sure we will return to the wharehouse district."

"zypern has prepared a great menu with extensive and creative style with a light touch. the mousaka was made with co elk and not too heavy or oily (as mousaka can be). the scallops were perfectly cooked and a generous part. my son wished that the truthahn on his turkey sandwich was warm, but the GF bung was fresh and the Polnta sticks were a big change. and the service was excellent, which is not always the case."

"We were craving Tex-Mex food, so we decided to search for a restaurant we had not tried before. Coming from Tennessee where good Tex-Mex restaurants are hard to come by, we are on a mission to find the perfect chimichanga. I ordered the chimichanga and it was definitely one of the top 5 I've ever had. The presentation was beautiful, with sour cream, pico de gallo, and avocado on top, all sprinkled with cheddar cheese. It was a feast for the eyes. The tortilla was perfectly golden brown and crispy, just as it should be. The chicken was incredibly tender and delicious. My wife had two chicken enchiladas, which were also beautifully plated. However, the reason I did not give a 5-star rating is because the chicken was not piping hot, just warm. It was still good, but not perfect. The margaritas were fantastic and strong, definitely not skimping on the tequila. They also offer bottled margaritas for takeout. There was a self-serve salsa bar with delicious mild salsa. The restaurant had a large outdoor patio and two interior spaces: a family-friendly main dining area and a Cantina with a full bar for adults. It was clear that the restaurant gets busy in the evenings. We will definitely be back, making sure to request our entrees piping hot next time."

"I went for their Mother’s Day prefix brunch and it was a great deal of 3 courses for $45. It wasn’t overly busy and hard to get a reservation like it usually is that day and the service was good especially for it being a holiday. My party was running a little behind schedule and the restaurant was really accommodating with pushing our reservation back about 10 mins. Food and drinks were good but we did order brunch food which is pretty hard to mess up. Would be curious to try their dinner items. I really loved the ambiance and would also like to go back and hear some of the live music that’s there."

"I love this place. They have the best Mexican shrimp cocktail I ever had . Big shrimp, but the what's even better is the tomato based sauce they use. It's a little sweet and so much flavor. My friend and I stumbled upon this place and she treated me to lunch for helping her pack two days on a row. Everything is authentic. Worth giving it a try. "It was very cold in the restaurant. No music playing, not much “jolly” Scallops were very salty, but edible. Soup was fantastic and plenty of it. Prime rib was decent but not as tender as it could be. Carrots and cauliflower delicious but the trice baked potatoes were baked a few more than twice. Very small and underwhelming. Its so popular, they opened another spot a few blocks down the street.The place is so seedy from the outside, its tough to even tell its a restaurant, but this is rather common for the area. "We brought a group of elders and children from a softball tournament to the restaurant around 3:30 or 4 PM when they weren’t busy at all. After I told them we had at least 15 people, they gave us a card and a credit card before seating us. The adults sat at one table, and the kids at another. Shortly after we were seated, the arrogant manager approached our table and informed us that they couldn’t serve us because we had more than 9 people. An argument ensued, and I asked him if he was saying he didn’t want our business. His only response was that it was policy. At this point, his rudeness made it clear we wouldn’t be spending any money there, so we left and went to Rey Azteca Mexican Restaurant. We had a wonderful meal, enjoyed many drinks, and tipped the waiter generously for his excellent service."

"It pains me to say this, bc I love the Gruene Door, but last night was bad; there’s no other way to say it. The service was rushed and very abrupt (we felt as if we were being forced out for the entire meal), the steak was overcooked, and we found small bones in the Tuna. Moreover, our table was right in front of extra wine storage and a waiter workstation; as a result, servers kept moving around behind my girlfriend and me, bumping our chairs repeatedly and even hitting my arm at one point. Finally, whomever made the decision to change the waffle bread pudding recipe made a poor choice, as the old recipe was spectacular and the current recipe is average, at best."

"My wife and I wanted a nice laid-back place to sit outside and enjoy a fun dinner. We ended up being very disappointed by the service. Our server took about 10-15 minutes to get to the table (which feels like an eternity when you are waiting to order beverages). They took our drink order and quickly returned with a cocktail and waters but the beer we ordered was delayed by a few minutes. Not a big deal, but then the night went south. We didn't see our server again for a very long time. We started to feel like our appetizer was a little delayed when food runners showed up with our entrees. No app in sight. We let them know and eventually the server brought our app. But we were halfway into the meal by that point. The food tasted fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad. The nachos, I admit, were delicious. The mac and cheese we ordered was described to have bread crumbs but was missing that. Fortunately the server had it taken care of pretty quickly. We were never asked about having our drinks refilled. And after eating, we waited a long time for our check. It just seemed to take forever for everything. None of the problems by themselves would have been a big deal, but together it added up to a somewhat unpleasant experience. The server was nice and apologetic. They also comped us the appetizer which was nice. May have been an off night or maybe a new server, but I can't say I would recommend going on a Saturday night. Also, we did enjoy the outdoor seating area. It was a little tight, but the ambiance was nice."
