"For our weekly #Datenight, my husband and I visited Hacienda Taqueria Restaurant in Lawrenceville. We have been fans of this establishment since its opening a few years ago. We 've seen the business grow, remodel, and transform; continuously making improvements to the pleasure and benefit of customers like us.We arrived early in the evening, around 6pm, and were seated right away. Isabella served us. She was a fabulous, driven young lady who shared with us that she is in college, pursuing a degree in biology (with a focus on agriculture). She intends to bring innovation and healthier dining options to the food service industry one day.?Tommy and I had a coupon to use towards our dining order. It stated we 'd receive a free meal as a promotion for purchasing a full meal and two drinks.Little did we know that fountain drinks would cost $3.75 each. That 's highway robbery ; seemingly unethical! That 's exactly why we typically ask for water only with our meals. We don 't often take issue with paying more for a quality meal because we understand all that may go into the process. Plus, we realize we 're paying a convenience cost. However, drinks are another story...we object!Needless to say, we didn 't save as much as we anticipated or desired. We 're happy the food and service made it all worth it. We will consistently support great businesses, as long as it 's feasible for us to do.Flavor and presentation are valued here. Portion sizes are very fair too. We started with complimentary chips and house salsa...yum! Following, I had Hacienda Chicken Tacos [on corn tortillas], and Tommy had a queso chicken breast dish...delicious ?. I should mention that he added bacon to his dish, to the tune of $5 additional...had no idea initially...won 't repeat this expensive request again!!!There are great deals offered here during their happy hour , 2pm-5pm throughout the week. Check it out."

"My first opportunity to try their food was a sampler platter from the Fairfax fall festival and the food then was a solid 4 stars. So when our dinner plans on Sunday we’re canceled the ale house was my immediate go to thinking we’d have decent quality food. However the food was unsatisfactory. We went around 6:30PM on Sunday and ordered a variety of dishes:Schnitzel crispy but dry/chewy meat the fall festival schnitzel was juicy and a good serving of pork)Golonkal lamb shank) was literally alamb shank on mashed potato, no sauce or beets. And meat was very chewy and dry, lots of gristle. We had to ask for some au jus.Burger and sweet potato fries Ok but literally gave like 10 fries so didn’t seem like enough food.Zurich Ragout with mushroom, spinach, onion spatzel was just bow tie pasta. Flavor was good and meat was juicy. Probably the best flavored dish of what we ordered. We had a dairy allergy so they served only the ragout without the pasta bc the pasta came prepared with butter I believe. They did provide it on the side when I asked but weren’t able to provide just noodles without butter. I’d think pretty easy to boil)Fish Tacos 4/10 on quality and taste.Sadly I don’t think we’ll be returning but hopefully given all their positive reviews it was just the chef that night.Server did his best to accommodate and food came out in a decent amount of time."
