"I went to boqueria since they opened up in the city. sad to see how it feels more of a fast eating. sat with a man and sat outside. we couldn't even hear ourselves because we invite music. asked to lower the volume and was told that the level was always played. musty smell in the outside seat regrettable! papas a la brava a sweat! cheese platter fit on that! would not return."

"This restaurant may not have an impressive exterior, but it has a warm and inviting atmosphere inside. I ordered the seafood paella, which was not only delicious but also large enough to share between two people. The stuffed dates for the appetizers were exceptional and I highly recommend trying them. The service was excellent, and I even had a nice conversation with the owner. I would rate this place a solid 5 out of 5."

"This is a lovely newer, small, family-run Spanish Mexican restaurant in downtown Silver Spring (directly across from AFI very near Filmore Regal Cinema . The cocktail wine list is small but well chosen with plenty of tequilas/mezcals even portos. Small tapas starters cover Spanish favorites such as Pan a la Catalan (delicious , boquerias, albondigas (in green tomatillo sauce! , shrimp, croquetas, with some creative takes on Spanish classics. Also tapas dishes covering ceviche, cured meats, even paella. Daily specials included a delicious seafood soup (app or side, not a main . Also Mexican faves such as guacamole, tacos, fajitas qeusadillas, etc. Will need several visits to explore the menu! Friendly excellent service. Highly recommend!"

"Out of the four dishes we ordered, only the French Onion Soup met our expectations. The fish soup contained bits of old fish, and the rouille was disappointing. The salad was overly drenched in dressing but was still acceptable. The carpaccio was spoiled by a strange sweet sauce that the kitchen chose to slather on it. Additionally, they were out of the wine we wanted, which is a common occurrence in Mexico City."

"Alegrias serves up authentic Spanish fare. Complimentary bread with olive oil is served at each table, additional orders are available for $3.50. My group ordered paella Marinera, arroz nNegro, calamari, cuttlefish, and flan. The paella dishes were supposed to take 35 minutes to prepare, but unfortunately it was closer to an hour before we received our paella dishes. Grilled cuttlefish $19 This consisted of 4 small pieces of cuttlefish, served on a bed of lettuce. The cuttlefish was a little hard and chewy, and didn't have much flavor. It was a really disappointing dish. Calamari $17 This dish was definitely better than the cuttlefish but was just average in terms of taste when compared to other places serving calamari. The quantity was lacking in this dish. Paella Marinera $34 Consisting of seasoned saffron rice and plenty of sea food, this dish was the highlight of the evening! It was perfectly prepared and had so much flavor! Arroz Negro $37 Presentation for this squid ink paella was excellent! Topped with 3 large shrimp and plenty of cooked squid pieces in the squid ink rice the taste was pretty good. Unfortunately parts of the rice on the edges were burnt and overcooked. The dish was also a little dry. Flan $12 The flan wasn't bad and was creamy, but on the smaller side given the price point. Overall I found most of the dishes here to be average, with the exception of the paella marinera, which really stood out! Service was slow and there is a mandatory 20% service charge."

"We were three adults with two (nicely dressed and well mannered) kids at 5 in the evening on a Sunday. The restaurant was 1/2 empty and the rude hostess shoved us at a tall bar table in between a service station and the kitchen door. After asking someone other than the hostess were moved to a regular table. The waitstaff was either overwhelmed or just terribly trained. Service took forever, orders were wrong, and the music was unnecessarily loud. BBQ brisket tasted like it was pounded with a mallet and soaked in liquid smoke. The one good thing I can say about this place is that the onion rings were incredible."

"My spouse and I, retired locals from the suburbs, have decided to start enjoying life again post-pandemic. Once a week, we like to discover a new restaurant for lunch, preferably close to a point of interest. Our latest find was Boqueria for an early Thursday lunch. Tucked away just a few steps from the chaos of Broadway, this restaurant is a tranquil oasis. Despite its large size with glass and chrome décor, it was surprisingly quiet during lunchtime. We could easily imagine it getting louder during happy hour. As for the food, it's important to remember that this is a tapas restaurant! Each dish is small and perfect for sharing between two people. Alongside glasses of cava, we tried five dishes. The olives were plentiful, the croquettes perfectly crispy, especially the mushroom one. The bacon-wrapped dates, although made with good bacon, fell a bit short with mushy dates. The jambon was heavenly, and the highlight was definitely the eggplant dish. Don't let your preconceptions about eggplant deter you, it was truly a delightful surprise. The entire staff was friendly and provided just the right amount of service. Just a reminder, make sure to get your parking ticket validated at the hostess station to avoid unexpected charges in the garage."

"My wife and I arrived here without a reservation on a Saturday night after a long flight from the Caribbean. The staff squeezed us in, made us welcome, and gave us a meal that made me think of the little trattorias we ate in Trastevere in Rome. One of the complaints about Italian restaurants in the U.S. is that they just don't convey just how wonderful Italian cooking really is--they don't taste like Italy. Well, welcome to Amor di Pasta. The spaghetti Amatriciana really took me back to my last visit to Rome. One of the best, if not the best, Italian meals I've had in America. Would definitely eat here again. Don't be like us, book a table."

We booked a stage view table a few weeks in advance for a bachelorette party, expecting the focus of the night to be watching the live entertainment. "Very disappointed with my wife's entree. Ordered the shrimp and scallop dish. She won't eat scallops so she asked for them to be replaced with additional shrimp and asked about what vegetables came with the dish. The waitress stated asparagus. When the entree was brought to table there were 5 shrimp, 3 asparagus tips and some type of stick accent. When asked if manager agreed this entree represents a 27.00 meal he offered to add more shrimp and asparagus. Not accepting his offer as I would have assumed this dish should have not even been brought to the table as it was he offered to comp a desert, which he did. Very disappointed and as a first time customer we will not be returning. Disappointing as we had been looking forward to a nice dinner and heard good things about this place."

"My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and was seated promptly. Since Burmese restaurant are rear in the area, we were really looking forward to this experience. While we weren't in a hurry, the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they pushed to have a food order at the same time. We choose to wait to order the food until the drinks were brought to us. We ordered the Burmese style beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (Fish Noodle Soup). While the sauces of the meat stews were nice, it wasn't spectacular! The stew meats were definitely not tender. If you enjoy tough meat, then these dishes are for you. Additionally, the Moh Hin Ga was lacking in flavor and in my colleagues words: "would not order it again". Also, soft drinks and iced tea and refilled complimentary. Given the rush and the below average experience, will not be going back. Given there their great Yelp ratings, there seems to be a lot of patrons that like it. Maybe we just attended them on a bad day or the normal Chef was not present that day..."
