"Overall, I had a very good experience here. I thought that the service was good. The food is a bit on the expensive side, given how much is served per plate... but it was mostly all quite tasty. They have an expansive menu, for vegetarians and omnivores alike. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is easy to get to. I would definitely go back there again"

"This place has been in Diamond Bar for many years. I first visited this spot around 2006 or so when my older sister first brought me here to try Indian food for the first time.I’ve seen this place change interior I think twice over the times I’ve visited, and it seems like it’s stayed under the same ownership for many years (not sure how many times they did change ownership if ever).I give this place 5 stars because it’s always been consistent taste wise, interior is always clean and well kept, and employees are always kind and super attentive even if it’s 2 people eating at the time. As a former server, I know they put in all this effort to keep people coming back, and they’ve been doing it for over 10 years.I appreciate that they haven’t made sacrifices in the food due to rising costs."

"While waiting for my main course, I was quickly served pappadum accompanied by three delicious sauces, and my Samosa appetizer arrived promptly. Both the lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala I ordered were outstanding, and I had to request a to-go box because the portions were larger than what you usually get at most Indian restaurants. The breads were generous as well; I tried the onion kulcha, paratha, and naan, all of which were delightful. The mango lassi was perfectly balanced—neither too sweet nor too cold (unlike some places where it resembles a McDonald's milkshake). I can't wait to return!"

"This Indian restaurant is fantastic! The food was amazing and the staff were incredibly kind and friendly. I've always noticed this restaurant but never had the chance to try it until now, and I was missing out! The chicken Makhani was delicious, as well as the fig naan bread and pistachio dessert. Everything was fresh and the restaurant was clean. The service was exceptional as well, with the two guys going above and beyond to accommodate my food request and ensure my boyfriend was happy with his naan filling. This extra effort speaks volumes about their top-notch customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"this is without argument the best restaurant in fairfield, and the best Indian restaurant in connecticut. based on food quality alone, the restaurant gets 6 stars of 5. there is no competition for the taste that the cook produce, and if they want a certain taste that is not on the menu, they will not only make it for them, but they will make them a world class dish without prior preparation of their specific choice of taste. they are expert. Moreover, the portion sizes are absolutely massif, while the prices are the same as those of any other restaurant that has normal portion sizes and average food quality. the service is the highlight of taj. for example are alex and sumesh, which are very talented chefs/servers, two of the most authentic people I have ever met. each question was immediately looked out, and when it came up that it was the birthday of my mother, they immediately came with an authentic vegetable cake (my mother is a vegetarian) free, with a candle in it, and sang happy birthday. after a nice talk with them, Alex has given up our food to take home and since the portions are so large, it will eat delicious in the refrigerator for days. Moreover, they offer take-out and delivery and the large portion sizes, great prices and authentic and top-notch aroma do not change at least."

"I was craving Indian food, so I decided to give this restaurant a try. I easily found street parking when I arrived. Upon entering, I was welcomed by the same man who had taken my phone order. I ordered the manchurian with gravy, opting for medium spice. They applied the discount I had and my total came out to about $13. Back at home, I dug into my meal. I appreciated the crackers and various dips they provided. The manchurian was tasty, but much spicier than I expected for medium heat. Overall, I had a positive experience at this restaurant."

"When the food is on point, it’s truly exceptional. The menu leans more towards North Indian cuisine, and as a vegetarian, I find the options fantastic. Their Asian fusion dishes are also a highlight. Personally, I love their dosas, especially since they offer a live dosa bar daily. The wonderful lady who makes them is incredibly skilled. The sambar served alongside is delicious, and I believe that a subpar sambar can ruin an otherwise great dosa. The buffet layout includes a vegetarian side and a non-vegetarian side, plus an array of desserts and chaats. However, one of my biggest complaints is about the desserts. My husband and I have a passion for Indian sweets (of course, being Indian, he has a particular fondness for them!), but disappointingly, every time they serve dishes like kheer or other milk-based sweets, they are always served hot. In my opinion, cold desserts are superior! It’s frustrating to see untouched desserts sitting there, and I can’t understand why they haven’t caught on to this over the years. They should consider making more gulab jamun and offering chilled desserts. I often find it disappointing not to have a sweet treat to conclude my meal, especially after enjoying the buffet. Overall, the food is fantastic (minus the desserts), the service is just average, and I would rate the cleanliness as a 2 or 3 out of 5. Nevertheless, I keep returning year after year for the food and dosas, and I plan to continue doing so—hopefully without a decline in quality anytime soon!"

"Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most restaurants to be overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we walked in - that's a huge plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She commented that it was nice to see kids with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as advertised and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"For an Indian Restaurant that caters for the American crowd, I really enjoyed this place. The spice levels are much more mild and it’s easy to bring my American friends here. I got the butter chicken and cheese naan which was exactly what I was lookingfor. I would suggest using more chicken as I felt it was lacking a bit. The cheese naan was perfectly soft and crispy. "This rating is not about food, the chef here is amazing. This is about how cheap the restaurant owner treats the customers. For the past ten take out orders I keep requesting to please give my side dish in a separate foam carry out container. It spills inthe car, makes mess, all my food mixes and I end up trash half of it. All this just because the owner want to save $10c per box.It is just serious common sense. "The chai was extremely impressive, so if there's one thing you definitely have to try here, I'd recommend the chai.However, the rest of the food was mediocre at best; the food looked great, but tasted only okay. The mango lassi was a bit sour, the ghee dosa was fine but the coconut chutney it came with seemed close to being spoiled and the sambhar was a bit bland. Similarly, the ragda pattice looked great but the patties were a bit too dense and a bit much in the chaat. The dish didn't work for me overall.But my biggest complaint about the place was how difficult ordering was the staff didn't know names off their own menu, very simple ones like ragda and dosa at that, so ordering was a bit annoying till we just started calling out numbers but even that we had to repeat ourselves several times.The decor was very elegant though. Loved the art in particular."
