Tanjore - Menu

I tried Tanjore and wow i was surprised. The workers were nice and the atmosphere was nice too. They were actually just wrapping up the buffet but i placed a to go order. Tikka chicken masala, mango chutney, lasoni gobi, masala dosa and garlic naan. It was all very good and I will definatly be back

Love this place try again!!!. Several have had negative experiences here, it seems in late summer 2009. Try again, I never had a bad meal there. It is raised in my experience, but we only started in September/October. The buffets are also amazing. And I'm another one who lived in NYC for a long time and ate very good Indian food. This place is with the best facilities in town. Really.

We dine here frequently and have always found the service to be courteous and prompt. The menu features a delightful range of dishes, from South India's Masala Dosa to Goa's Vindaloo, as well as North Indian Lamb Pasanda, various Tandoori selections, and the ever-popular Chicken Tikka Masala. My family has searched for years to find a match to an Indian restaurant on the upper West side of Manhattan that we went to almost every week for years before it suddenly closed down and broke our hearts

The food is delicious! Best Indian cuisine in the county. Though the communication with their customer base could use improvement. PS: I would suggest posting to social media [Facebook] if the restaurant schedule changes suddenly and adjusting the online ordering for the next business day if no one is at the restaurant instead of an auto reply that accepts the order as if the restaurant is open. A message with updated information on the answering machine would be nice too.

Delicious, well prepared food and hand made breads…not at all greasy, like some Indian restaurants I’ve been to. This tastes homemade, and the flavors are fresh and vibrant. The servers are also knowledgeable about what they serve and take pride in explaining the different seasonings. You don’t have to like spicy food, to enjoy Indian cuisine (although I do) there is a variety of mild dishes to suit every taste. If you’ve never been, do give Tanjore a try, you won’t regret it! I really enjoy the chicken tikka masala here. It features tender pieces of Tanjore chicken in a creamy tomato sauce, served over rice. If you're looking for a classic dish and love chicken and tomato sauce, I highly recommend this option—it's always my go-to favorite. It has a delightful sweetness with just a subtle kick of spices. The staff have consistently been friendly whenever I visit. I also tried the lunch buffet, which offered a wide variety of regular menu items, including desserts and bread.

AMAZING!! GLUTEN FREE NAAN! But really, this place is wonderful! Kind, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. They were able to answer my questions and recommend gluten free dishes. They even had gluten free naan which is such a wonderful bonus! I usually get the chicken korma, and it never disappoints. My family and I went here to celebrate my grandma's birthday. Both her and my grandpa, either of whom really eat Indian food, tried the chicken korma and loved it! We kept the spice super low/not at all and they didn't have any problems.

While waiting for my main course, I was quickly served pappadum accompanied by three delicious sauces, and my Samosa appetizer arrived promptly. Both the lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala I ordered were outstanding, and I had to request a to-go box because the portions were larger than what you usually get at most Indian restaurants. The breads were generous as well; I tried the onion kulcha, paratha, and naan, all of which were delightful. The mango lassi was perfectly balanced—neither too sweet nor too cold (unlike some places where it resembles a McDonald's milkshake). I can't wait to return! View menu
