"Stopped at the start of New Year's eve. We were lucky to get in quickly as it was busy. We had the wedding soup which was excellent, a house salad (more substantial and varied than most) and each had a different special. Husband had the parmesan crusted halibut and I had the blackened mahi mahi. Both entrees and their accompaniments were excellent. We had a (very reasonably priced) bottle of Earthquake cabernet to accompany everything. Best part was the service. All servers were excellent but Gracie who served our table tonight was particularly outstanding. We would come again and ask to sit at one of her tables."

"I absolutely loved my experience at the Berghoff! Our waitress was kind and attentive, and the service was incredibly quick for how busy it was that night. We had the cheese curds, and my main was the smoked salmon napoleon. Food came out fresh and delicious! We finished off with the black forest cake which was a delight, perfectly balanced sweetness. I'll definitely be back!"

"Wow this place was spectacular. What a wonderful surprise. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The butter spread that came with the bread was soooo flavorful and delicious. We all but locked the bowl. The salad and pallette cleanser was also delicious. We ordered the elk, which was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. We also ordered the chicken which was tasty but the jalapeno cheese grits took the cake. I wish there were more of them on the plate. We finished with the white chocolate cheesecake, a pretty large slice. Our server was attentive and friendly. We spent 2 hours and had a fantastic experience. We will be back! One of our new favs."

"dinner with my man. gastgeber was very accommodating when I said we drove a few minutes too late through the traffic. he thanked me at the arrival for the call and we were sitting right away. that was delicious. I ordered prime rib – probably will choose something else next time. hubby's fish was great. the waiter was not very attentive, but was pleasant."

"Our favorite place. The atmosphere and decor evolves a European continental café and is spacious and bright. You have the choice of tables or stands. It's pretty and you can have a normal conversation. Service was friendly, prompt and helpful. My wife Avril and I like to come for lunch, as there are no loud children or loud music. The lunches were perfectly prepared. The vegetables were crisp and not boiled over, and the sesame crumbled scallops were boiled properly without getting hard. The Illy coffee is very good. Bread was fresh and delicious. Avril enjoyed the Turkish melt sandwich. We had no desserts, but the presentation bag by Desserts looks delicious with a lot of choice. We often want to come back."

"I went here on a date with my partner and got the steak and she got the pork belly. Service was prompt, friendly, and excellent. The pork belly was amazing- crisp textures with all the melty delicious flavors you would expect. However, the steak, while incredibly tender, didn't have enough seasoning and the layered potatoes were almost frozen cold in the center of them (maybe not enough time in the fryer? . Definitely has a startup restaurant feel so we'll give them another shot sometime (for the pork belly at least! ."

"I had no idea this place existed until I saw Little Big perform there. It's fantastic! From the outside, it looks small, but once you step inside, it feels like you've entered a different world. The atmosphere is very blue and foggy, creating the perfect vibe. The bartenders were excellent and efficient, and the security was quick and firm in their duties. I appreciate how seriously they take their roles—other venues could learn a thing or two! The sound quality was decent, though it could have been a bit louder. The bathrooms were spacious, clean, and well-stocked. I highly recommend checking this place out!"

"After seeing great reviews and the menu we decided to make a point to eat here during our stay in Durango. Well from the moment we stood at the hostess stand until the end of the meal it was full of disappointments. We spent almost on this dinner, for our little family of so I feel compelled to write a negative review, in hopes we save another from disappointment. The bathrooms were disgusting and unattended. The wine glasses were dirty and the menu was impressive but later discovered it was a bait and switch. I ordered the Elk, and it was covered in butter. My daughter ordered the Childrens tenderloin and she enjoyed hers, but they were unable to make a chicken breast, the waiter claimed that they had no chicken. My husband had a steak as well, again, unimpressed. We ordered desserts... again unimpressed... I ordered the apple strudel, and was looking forward to it... unfortunately it was dry and unflavorful. Also, the chocolate chip cookies with ice cream.. were uncooked! When mentioned this to the waiter, he simply said, well that’s how people like them. All in all, this place is for those who definitely don’t get out much or live near the resort and “settle” for this less than mediocre fine dining experience. We should have went to El Moro in town... from the service to the food... poor. But the wine and water was good"

"Service and food were fantastic. It was the first time my family and I had really “dined out” since Covid, and we wanted a nice meal out. We loved the elk carpaccio and all our entrees elk tenderloin, lamb chops, halibut. It was quiet with nice views of the surrounding mountain. "I love bark wellington and this is the only place where my wife could find her. So for vater's day she bought us two orders from rindfleisch wellington for $71, which is not surprising for a good wellington. that was the worst, most disgusting bark wellington I've ever tasted. my wife wept because she wanted to surprise me and was so disappointed. I have attached a picture so that u can see the flesh and the teigbock that covers the delicate flesh. as soon as u falls into the diligent, usually due to the fact that they put the soße on the meat instead of on the side to dip or drizzling. that made the whole dish so sweet, but that still does not explain the hard, blanching meat. I'm sorry, but this fucking close ruined the day of my wife, which is how terrible this bark was wellington."

"Went through the drive through and waited almost five minutes before getting my order taken then waited another almost fifteen minutes to get my food. A young kid came to the window to see what I ordered and then apologized for the wait. There was also a lady working and it sounded like she got after him for apologizing. When I finally got my order, she just shoved it at me with no thank you or sorry about the wait. Very disappointed with the service today."

"The lunch experience was strictly D minus. I met a friend at the restaurant. My side of the white tablecloth had a very obvious food stain on it, which the hostess quickly covered with my napkin. I went to look at what used to be a pretty good wine list; about one-third of the wines had been highlighted by hand with a pink highlighter. I confirmed that the highlighted wines were the only ones they had. I ordered one of the lunch specials, mahi-mahi with coconut shrimp. The mahi-mahi had no seasoning. It tasted like they pulled it out of a 2-lb freezer bag and threw it in the microwave. No taste. Part of it was dried out; overcooked. On the same plate I got two good sized shrimp that looked like maybe they were steamed. No coconut. I noted that they were supposed to be coconut, and the busboy took the shrimp back into the kitchen. A few seconds later (literally) our server came back with the shrimp to tell us they had no coconut shrimp. The haricot verts were undercooked. It's a shame; Christopher Daniel used to be a really nice restaurant. A few years ago I got some lobster mac and cheese there as a side, and I STILL remember it. It was amazing. I don’t know what happened, but something definitely went wrong somewhere."

"Since the restaurant was quite busy and doesn't take reservations, we started our evening at the bar. We enjoyed a phenomenal artichoke dip along with some wine while we waited. About an hour later, we were seated and immediately treated to warm bread and butter. For our main course, we all opted for the filet mignon accompanied by steamed squash for the evening's vegetable special. We also chose the autumn salad, although the salad bar, which looked fantastic, wasn't something we tried. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the squash was served with a delightful brown sugar sauce. To finish off the evening, we decided to sample three desserts: grasshopper cake, chocolate cream cake, and carrot cake. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience from start to finish, and I highly recommend giving this steakhouse a try if you're in the area."
