"The lunch experience was strictly D minus. I met a friend at the restaurant. My side of the white tablecloth had a very obvious food stain on it, which the hostess quickly covered with my napkin. I went to look at what used to be a pretty good wine list; about one-third of the wines had been highlighted by hand with a pink highlighter. I confirmed that the highlighted wines were the only ones they had. I ordered one of the lunch specials, mahi-mahi with coconut shrimp. The mahi-mahi had no seasoning. It tasted like they pulled it out of a 2-lb freezer bag and threw it in the microwave. No taste. Part of it was dried out; overcooked. On the same plate I got two good sized shrimp that looked like maybe they were steamed. No coconut. I noted that they were supposed to be coconut, and the busboy took the shrimp back into the kitchen. A few seconds later (literally) our server came back with the shrimp to tell us they had no coconut shrimp. The haricot verts were undercooked. It's a shame; Christopher Daniel used to be a really nice restaurant. A few years ago I got some lobster mac and cheese there as a side, and I STILL remember it. It was amazing. I don’t know what happened, but something definitely went wrong somewhere."

Arrived 20 minutes before our 5 o' clock reservation and was told we couldn't be served until 5. We were the only one there. We were served by the hostess. After that, ever was fine.

I hate to write a negative review, but during our visit, we waited 15 minutes at the hostess station. When a waitress finally approached us, she candidly admitted that the service wouldn’t be great, which I actually appreciated. They were clearly overwhelmed, and some staff members were absent. They had more customers than anticipated. I just wanted to be fair in my assessment.

Don't think they will be around much longer. At the bar they were out of the first four things we ordered. Bartender stated they were out or low of a lot. They were out of the first two wines we ordered. We had dinner at 5pm and were the only people there (only three people in the bar). When we left after 6pm we were still the only people there. I had a lunch reservation for six people at 12:30, which was confirmed through OpenTable. However, when our group arrived, we found the parking lot almost empty, and there was a sign on the door stating that the restaurant was closed for a private party. There were no phone calls or emails to inform us of the closure. We quickly made a new reservation at another nearby restaurant. I'm not surprised by the negative feedback I've read about Christopher Daniel. This experience has turned what was once my favorite restaurant into a disappointing memory.

This was my third trip here. The first two times the meal was excellent. This time I ordered the same item I had ordered last time 6 oz tenderloin. I asked for medium, it was well done. The yukon gold mashed potatoes, which were delicious the last time I was here, in January 2017, were flavorless and cold. The waiter offered to get me a new tenderloin, but we had already waited a considerable amount of time for our meal and I did not want to wait. Even though I alerted the waiter to the problems, no manager ever came to the table and apologized and there was no attempt made to make up for the shortcomings. I will not be back.
