"First time here (new to the neighborhood) and this will be our new go-to restaurant! Upon entering we were greeted immediately and shown a table. But the first thing we noticed was how clean this place is! They would be hard pressed to find a cleaner restaurant. Our beverage order was quickly taken and quickly came to the table. All employees are really friendly, and even called me “amigo”. This may seem silly for some, but I think it has added to the ambience. Speaking, this place is so brightly colored You can't help but feel happy to be here. The fake roof over the stands is also a beautiful touch. And the music is loud enough to hear, but no distraction. Chips were crispy and the salsa was fresh and tasty (not too spicy) and the bean dip is so God that you could eat it from yourself. We order Tamales for an appetizer and they have not disappointed. The chicken was a bit dry, but the taste was amazing! The margaritas were right... could taste the alcohol, but not exaggerated. The enchiladas were perfect with juicy chicken. Never thought I'd say that, but it blows El Sarape out of the water. Great job guys! I hope to see you again soon!"

"The best Mexican food we've found so far in Kernersville, NC., but we've not visited all these restaurants in the area. The chicken Chimichanga was excellent, the refried beans as well. The Huevos Rancheros was good, though the fried eggs were a little too fried. The salsas were good, but watch out for the habinaro salsa as it was exceptionally hot (but tasty when blended with the plain salsa). The wait staff were excellent, the manager/owner introduced himself; a real gentleman. The pricing for our meals was fair. All in all, a good experience. We will be back! "I love supporting local businesses, especially when they serve delicious food. I visited El Maguey for lunch and was warmly greeted by the host at the door. Before sitting down, I stopped by the restroom to wash my hands, and I was pleased to find it clean and smelling fresh. Once seated, I was served a basket of hot, fresh chips along with some tasty salsa. I ordered the Speedy Gonzales, and I was impressed by how quickly my meal arrived and how delicious it was. Overall, the restaurant had a clean atmosphere, and both the food and service were excellent. I would definitely return to El Maguey."
