"We finally took my parents to hike Heart Falls and noticed this place on the way back. They have a lot of unique and wonderful food. I had chilli cheese onion rings, something I've never seen anywhere else, and they were one of the best things I've ever had (is that just because I've never had them before? . My wife and parents also loved what they had. I tried to order a blueberry shake (an uncommon flavor, and one of my favorites but it was 4th of July weekend and every table was full so things were slow. Eventually the manager came out and explained they were short one employee and everyone seemed to be ordering shakes with only one blender in the kitchen and he just wasn't able to make mine any time soon. Instead, he suggested dessert nachos. That's yet another food I've never seen elsewhere. The chips were more like fried pastry slices, coated with cinnamon, some liquid chocolate, plus vanilla ice cream. Put it all together and it tasted a lot like fried ice cream, which happens to be one of my favorite flavors. This place is small, so don't expect them to be able to cook breakfast food during lunch. It also has weird hours, like I don't think they're open for dinner on weekdays, so check before you go. But if you can find a time they're open and you're free, the food is wonderful. Probably the best food I've found on the mountain (I won't yet say definitely since I've only eaten here once so far ."

"After reading the reviews, I so wanted to have a good experience.... unfortunately that was not the case yesterday. We got there before noon and I was excited to see the specials. Looked good. We asked the waitstaff whether the hamburger came withfries and I asked about the number/size of the shrimp cakes. She brought over a plate of 4 cakes that had not been cooked yetand explained that this was what they started as. She indicated it was her first day there but if the description of the mealdid not indicate fries then no fries. So my husband ordered sweet potato fries with his Med/Well burger and I ordered the shrimpcake/chowder special. When the woman (guessing owner) read the order I overheard her ask the waitstaff if the request forsweet potato fries was instead of the fries that came with the burger.... That was the first time I realized that there was someconfusion. When the food finally came, the chowder was a bit thin though did taste OK and there were 3 small shrimp cakes -not4 and were a bit dry. Not a problem a bit of tartar sauce couldn't overcome.... Then my husband started eating his burger andrealized something was wrong.... something was hard to bite through. He showed it to me and I realized that the cook had neverremoved the paper lining of the meat and had cooked it that way! I refrained from making a scene but did point it out to thewaitstaff who shared the situation with the woman/owner who subsequently shared the information with the cook(guessinghusband/owner). Both came out and saw the paper that had been removed and joked about it though apologized.... NOTHING else...At best it would have been appropriate to remove that cost off the tab. At the least, my husband should have been offered areplacement. The fact that the cook could grill the burger with the paper on it make be wonder if both sides were actuallycooked. After all, wouldn't it have been noticed once the burger was flipped? The paper was on the unders"

"An honest review by a former regular: As of late, the Boxcar Coffee in Moore has failed to impress. It was formally known for high caliber baristas/staff and some of the finest bicycles on the market. However now, you're warmly greeted at the front door by pallets of coffee storage, like a pseudo-warehouse, and served espresso drinks made from a push-button automatic machine. If you're a true coffee advocate, don't waste the stop!By Boxcar's own admission, it's been difficult for them to find quality help, this tends to happen when the skilled coffee professionals in the area know the character of the acting management and the highly aggressive way they've conducted themselves lately. Barista's know better than to trust their reputation with this leadership. Boxcar's exclusive offering of @kllrcoffee (same owner) has continued to lose market-share, as many of the other local shops know better than to support these establishments. It's clear that Boxcar has lost it's way, this is a byproduct of ego and mismanagement, it's just unfortunate it had to impact our community like this. I hope Moore gets back a proper coffee shop but the current boxcar isn't it!Recommendation, sharing private details associated with your now failing businesses on social media, only further reinforces leadership incompetence and broadcasts it into the public space. It would be wise to refrain from this behavior moving forward, it seems negative for business and likely repulsive to potential new customers."

"I was excited to join friends (party of 4) for Friday brunch/lunch at the beautiful Alfond Inn. Our experience was very disappointing. The 2 men at our table received their eggs benedict a full 10 minutes before my friend I received our meals. The eggs were cooked well, the ham was good but the hollandaise was thin and only a mere drizzle (barely a tablespoon full) topped the eggs. After 10 minutes my friend received her entree salad and lukewarm soup. Her salad tasted good but all ingredients were in the bottom of the bowl and not on top of lettuce. Not as pictured in other reviews. It was another 5 minutes before I received my salad Niicoise that was described as having Nicoise olives, artichokes, tomatoes, green beans, seared tuna eggs. I noticed the olives were missing and the server went to retrieve from the kitchen. I then realized that salad was also missing artichokes and tomatoes. So half the advertised ingredients were missing. I like a green bean with a bit of snap, but these tasted cold, raw and not cooked at all. The tuna was not freshly seared. It was ice cold (not quite defrosted), watery, rubbery, gray in color and tasteless except for a slightly fishy taste at the end. The server explained that the salad cook was new. I sent back my salad to order something different It was another 10 minutes before server returned for my replacement order. At that point everyone else had finished their meal. I ordered a cup of soup because I thought it would be quick. It was not. It was also lukewarm. Server then tried to remove everyone else's plates while I was just beginning my soup. The cost of the entree salad was removed from our check but at no time did a manager approach our table to apologize or see what he could do. No other accommodations were made. Our server apologized as we were leaving and told me that the new salad cook would undergo additional training for the future. Weird comment, and what good would that do me? The Alfond Inn deservedly is a 4 star hotel. I would expect the service and food at Hamilton's Kitchen to meet the same standards. We had bad food, bad service. I am not a complainer and rarely send back food, having spent time as a server many years ago in my college days. Huge disappointment. I would not recommend."
