"Famous Dave's BBQ is a chain of restaurants specializing in American barbecue. We tried a variety of their offerings in the Three Meat Combo, including the juicy, pleasantly chewy Tri Tip, Burnt Ends (fatty chunks of brisket in a sticky sauce), and my favorite, the Southside Rib Tips (lean, tender, meaty pork ribs served with sauce on the side). The plate also came with crusty toasted white bread, pickled onions/cucumbers, sweet cornbread, and a choice of two sides. We had Dave's Cheesy Mac Cheese (which included corn in the grainy cheese sauce) and Wilbur Beans (baked beans in a sweet tomato-based sauce mixed with chopped meat and sausages). Overall, the food here was rather average--the barbecue sauces, cornbread, and beans were all extremely sweet, and the service was slow and inattentive. The prices were fair for the portion sizes, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return."
