"Not a very Monday night. No host at the check in stand. Someone eventually came to us and sat us down. The manager came by and told us about the specials that night, but that was the last we saw of him. The waitress eventually came over to take our drinks order. She had ZERO personality, didn 't even introduce herself or say hello, just straight into what do you want to drink. We stuck to water and waited another 5 minutes for her to come back to take our food order. She seemed very disinterested in being there, had no smile and barely spoke above a whisper! We asked for the small pizza to share as a starter, and a main course each. The main course arrived 15 minutes later with no pizza. Then a few minutes later, the pizza came out. The fish curry was bland with barely any curry flavor, mostly just coconut milk, and the curry was served on the plate over the rice. I would expect any restaurant calling itself a bistro would serve either the rice or the curry on the side. The pizza was supposed to be prosciutto but it was really pancetta cubes not prosciutto. Other than that the pizza was OK. Also order the nightly special lobster sandwich. Bread was very soft and tasty, lobster was tender and nicely cooked. Fries were tasty and super crunchy. Overall, service was terrible, food was mostly bland and not very exciting (with the exception of the lobster sandwich). No atmosphere in this place. Despite the fact there was only 3 other tables occupied, the wait staff never once checked up to see how the food was or if we needed anything. Had to get attention to get more water, and again at the end to get the check. It 's fine as a Marriott Courtyard hotel bar/restaurant, but definitely not what I would expect for a Bistro in Palo Alto/Los Altos. Won 't be back."
