"My family of 5 drove 11 hours. Saw many bbq billboards on the way to Hays, Kansas. After checking in to our hotel, we found Big Smoke BBQ online. It was the bbq place with the most stars and best reviews. So decided to go with them. Our order was delivery. The online ordering was very easy. While waiting for the order to arrive we got a call from the delivery driver that they were out of lemonade and kids chicken nuggets and asked what I would like to replace them with. I tried to choose the more basic things in the kids menu as my kids are picky eaters. We got smokies and chicken slider. And exchanged lemonade for milk. I appraised our delivery driver for calling and letting me know about the unavailable items. (We were all appreciate and even more so looking forward to the meal-because that seemed like amazing CUSTOMER SERVICE right off the bat Upon delivery was where it went down hill. There was no cutlery (not such a big deal...were hungry it's bbq, we were willing to get down on it. It was the food itself. Sooooo disappointing!!!! We were missing a half rack of ribs. Mac and cheese was bland. The kids chicken slider was laughable not only was it unappealing to the eye but the meat was so dry that it siphoned any saliva we may have had. The other meats seemed like the end of the day left over meats. Edge trimmings with flavor but almost too hard to eat. Burnt ends is definitely what we got! And not the edible ones. My mother ordered a pulled pork sandwhich. It was one big chunk of fat. Yuck. Milk was warm and after looking forward to the meal and paying a good amount for the meal plus delivery fee and a good tip...it was just BAD. They could have thrown in sauce or something to cover up the disgraceful food that was delivered atleast. After all said and done. 5 out of 5 people agreed that it was foul. We are not Karen's. We know bbq. We were starving and tired. So at that point you would think we would eat it anyway. Nope. Because it was that bad. Called to ask if I could physically bring them the food and show them the fat piece and the end of day meat that we got. Whoever answered said he would call the manager. I gave him my number and never received a response. Total bummer all around."

"First time visiting Vintage Public House. We walked through the door and were immediately greeted by the hostess and taken to a table. The decor of the restaurant was warm and inviting. Menus, including a drink menu, were provided. It didn't take long for our server to arrive and drinks were ordered. After drinks arrived we ordered our food. We did not have to wait long for our food to arrive. Large plates, with large portions, well presented, in my opinion. The food tasted good, with good flavors and was served at an appropriate temperature. We had ordered the Cab Burger with Garlic Fries, Tofu bowl and Black Berry habañero street tacos. We enjoyed the drinks and the food. Now the not so great part. We arrived shortly after 5. So, as we drank and ate, the restaurant got busier. Unfortunately, our server had to attend to several other tables, including a group of ten. We also had 3 friends join us. Due to the busyness of the restaurant, we noticed there wasn't enough servers for the full restaurant. We waited well past 20 minutes to get one glass of water for our three additional friends. Then another 20 for two more glasses of water to arrive. By this time, we had decided that it was not going to be enjoyable to continue our visit, so we asked for our check. Seems things could have gone better. I wasn't able to try their great looking dessert, as I didn't want to wait the already unacceptable time to order it. I don't blame our server. It should be the Manager's responsibility to ensure customers are being taken care of in a timely manner. That didn't happen. I understand the limits of the current condition of personnel shortages. Seems a Saturday night should have a full staff. If not, there should be limits on the available tables to allow proper service for the customers. I haven't decided if I will give Vintage another opportunity for my patronage."
