"Service was awesome as always. Sat outside in anticipation of my toddlers being very loud, they did not disappoint and screamed their little hearts out. Luckily the couple next to us were more so amused and happy to interact with them. The Hippie salad is delish! I added chicken...okay, you got me...I also added bacon and I could not finish it, so next time I do order it, I'll ask for the dressing on the side. Also ordered a plethora of menu items. Brussel sprouts which were large in size and cut in half, tasty and cooked to perfection. Buffalo wings crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Children's chicken tender meals 4 strips lightly breaded with juicy pieces of chicken. Shoestring fries and sweet potato fries were great. Sonoma salad and a burger, I wasn't able to taste them but tbh you can't go wrong with any item on the menu, except for the fact that you should have ordered more lol. Service was fast despite being full of customers, and they came to check on us frequently which is awesome. Love it here!"

"We were so looking forward to the Counter being open again. Imagine our surprise that quality has dropped dramatically. First, the new process is to be seated by a hostess, complete your burger menu at the table, and bring it up to the register, where you place the order, and pay including a required tip. Normally I would be tipping except we received zero service. It was not clear if you wanted refills whether you needed to go back to the counter, or if someone would come around. No one came around, not even to ask how the food was. As to the food, my grilled red onions were gray, and had an acrid taste. Not really burnt, but just awful. My medium rare burger was well done. The had onion strings crammed together so much that they were a greasy brick that was mostly inedible. I hope the Counter will take heed and return to table service, and improve the quality of their meals."

"Our waiter, Rob Iliew, provided an extremely poor level of service. We waited for 15 minutes between his other tables without being greeted or offered water. Eventually, we had to ask a busser who our waiter was, as Rob seemed oblivious to our presence, even when passing by. Our cocktails took 30 minutes to arrive, while other tables that arrived after us were served their drinks and food long before we were. Rob appeared to vanish for long periods, and we were left wondering if we should just leave. Interestingly, he suddenly became attentive and quick to assist us when it was time to bring the check, which we needed early to make it to a concert, and we had to select a tipping option as we rushed out. If we had been seated in a different section, our experience could have been entirely different. The food was truly wonderful, particularly the marinara sauce, but unfortunately, it was completely overshadowed by the unacceptable service from our waiter."

' It 's been a few years since I 've been to the counter but the service was great and the build your own burger experience was the same as I remembered. Shoestring fries aren 't my favorite but theirs are pretty solid even though I 'm not a fan of that cut. Great atmosphere to catch up with friends in."

"Went on vacation to Portland Oregon coming from New York and I was recommended this place by many and the reviews didn’t disappoint. I sat at the bar and Adrian went above and beyond with her customer service. The espresso martini was packed with flavor and was absolutely delicious I had to get two. I ordered the basket of fries with a bunch of different toppings on it that all went together so so perfectly, it’s so much on the fries I can’t even list all of it. It came out in no longer then 15 mins, Adrian is a quick and efficient bartender and checked on me often to see if I needed a drink or refill on my water, will be back next time I’m in the area, amazing!"

"The food was pretty good and the drinks were creative. Be prepared to swipe a card to open the tab at the beginning of your meal. Servers swarm around your table when you first arrive to get dibs on the card and then (in our case at least) never really come back to check on you. Our primary waiter (I think his name was Randall) gave us attitude when we asked for things but all the other servers were very helpful."

"The service is so prompt and friendly. Water is constantly checked and refilled. Full of energy and service quality. My Juicy Lucy burger is really good. The cheese and sauce is in between the beef patties. When you bite the first time, the sauce andcheese burst out from the other side of burger. It is kinda messy yet fun. Burger is juicy, and for me, the sauce is a bit toosalty that belongs to heavy flavor category and water is definitely needed. Fried onion rings are think and easy to eat. It isthin like shoelaces, you?d better eat it when it is hot and crispy. I like this place, tiny and full of friendliness. Youngpeople with good smiles, attitude and most of all, outstanding service quality that makes people want to come again. The onlyminor drawback is not about service or food but IT. The payment system on the table does not work. We go with traditional billand credit card signature route. Bravo!"

"Our server was absolutely horrible, we had a party of 10. It took forever to get initial service, then she messed up everyone’s orders for example, I asked for fries and never received them, asked for a milkshake and it never came till I reminded her twice, someone else asked for one, she brought the wrong one, asked for a drink with Red Bull on the side, they added it, which made it water downed, she replaced it and then brought the last persons burger after everyone had finished eating I might add and was so happy to say she put the pickles on the side which we didn’t ask for. Service was super slow, we couldn’t even get our water refilled.She made excuse after excuse and didn’t even know the menu!"

"We must have caught them on a bad night, as the pizza we ordered was nearly tasteless. Not a lot of sauce, and the sauce that could be tasted was really bland. The protein we ordered for the pizza was also very lightly applied. We're big pizza lovers, new to the area and trying some of the places that are highly rated. We rarely write less than stellar ratings, but we're still scratching our heads on what happened here as our experience at the other places we've tried correlated to the ratings we read."

"the counter is a chain that offers many options for burger, but also other items such as shakes, a lot of frits, tweeper rings salad. recently, it added an impossible burger, the vegan is a good try, something that tastes like meat it tastes good. there is also a vegan patty burger option also has ice-free brot, although the brot breaks quite easily, so it challenging to eat the burger. so I prefer to take it as a bowl. the palette of toppings that they can put on their sandwich is huge, with many items they would never buy if to make something home, or to find on other burger objects. the possibilities are essentially limitless, so they can taste different combinations or keep their burger traditional and simple. the service can be slow, long when they are busy. get the counter card to collect points for eating. the nussella brezel shake is great."

"Businesses should not make customers wait to give them money... I told the bartender I was ready for the bill, but was made to wait more than 13 minutes to pay. Furthermore, I had to get up from the bar, walk to the other side towards the kitchen, wave my credit card and bill in the air to get the bartender 's attention (on the other side of low wall/room divider). The bartender then looked me in the eye and took another order before bringing me my bill. It is unusual for me not to tip, but I do not recall ever having to flag down anyone in such a manner, in order to pay my restaurant bill. The bartender needs more/different support staff. They (bartender) are loosing money. The bar section nearest the patio door was at about 85% capacity. The bartender seemed to be the only person taking orders and casing customers out, although 2-3 individuals did bring out food. About a minute after I sat down, placed my drink order, reviewed the menu, received my drink and attempted to order the Seared Ahi Tuna, the bartender cut me off by saying they were out of Ahi and Lasagna. If only I had known these facts before I read the menu and decided what I wanted to eat... So I ordered Thai Style Shrimp. And there was nothing light or delightful about it. There was way too much batter. The Arnold Palmer was good though. FYI: My movie (with pre-ordered snacks) was starting soon. My alarm went off seven minutes after I told the bartender I was ready for the bill."

"After reading reviews about this restaurant, I knew it was new and fairly popular, but I was surprised by the ten-minute wait for a table. Once we were seated, however, it became clear why. The counter serves trendy gourmet berry dishes and grilled sandwiches. The clientele varies from staff members grabbing a drink at the bar to families enjoying a meal together. The atmosphere caters to a younger, hip crowd."

"DJ's is the same as Pete's (the old place). I guess their lease changed, so the name changed...or something of the sort. They did take off a few of the menu items and added new ones too. The menu item names also changed; but again, same owner, same menu, same peeps. I gave 4 stars on food because I ordered the ahi tacos, and there was A LOT of gristle. All else was great as usual (especially the knots and house salad). Our server, Anthony, was attentive in taking care of the taco situation. He was also friendly and funny (5 Stars). The bathrooms needed a stocking. It's also so dark in there that they always seem to need a cleaning. Of course, we will be back due to the proximity of the theater, the knots (old school menu, item name), and the service."

"I went to this restaurant for lunch with my granddaughter. The host who seated us was friendly, but our waitress was not very engaging. She didn’t introduce herself at our table and didn't smile at all during our visit. We did enjoy our food and drinks, though. When the waitress brought the bill and I was ready to pay, I noticed there wasn't an obvious place to add a tip. I mentioned this to her, and she informed me that a tip was automatically included. Since when is this the norm? There were just two of us, not a large group. I had planned to leave a tip in line with the suggested amount on the bill, but I'm unsure if the waitress decided to add more than the suggested tip to my total. To be honest, she didn't deserve anything beyond the minimum suggested amount. I've learned a lesson from this experience and will be more attentive next time. As for kid-friendliness, I can't comment on that."

"We typically visit the Pete’s at Howe Arden after seeing a movie at Cinemark. Today, after viewing Wonka, we visited the Natomas location as my daughter needed to pick up my grandson in Natomas. I have had no complaints about this location until today. We had great service. We paid our check in cash. The waiter decided to keep the change. Typically, when the waiter “assumes” he can keep the change, he/she can assume that is their tip (Chicago Fire downtown). Today, however, our service was good up until our waiter “assumed” he could keep the change. Our waiter was Alex K. I wanted to leave a tip because service was good. My dev disabled son advised Alex that he received the incorrect change and Alex immediately knew and brought the missing change. We left him the appropriate tip and left. Next time this happens we will not. Advice: check your check, check your change, check your waiter and report to management. This has also happened to us at Mimosa House in East Sacramento."
