"My BFAM* Steve offered to take us to breakfast this morning at a place that makes the best biscuits gravy that he 'd ever eaten at a restaurant. There 's no possible way one can pass up something after an introduction like THAT! So we loaded up the car and we moved to Beverly...Hills that is... No wait, he took us to Banana River Cafe in Satellite Beach. And let me tell you, he wasn 't lying. First of all, let me state that I agree 100%. No part of this was ever found in some prepackaged mix where they just added hot water. No. There is an abundance of sausage cooked into the gravy and to say that they spoon it liberally o er a fresh baked biscuit is an understatement of the highest order. Secondly, let me admit that I messed up and ordered the eggs (2) and the turkey sausage, which is freshly ground and mixed on site. Why did I mess up? Well it 's because of just how much of the biscuits and gravy you get! The eggs were scrambled and were light and fluffy and incredibly tasty. The sausage was moist and subtly spiced, but unfortunately, I could not eat everything. I was stuffed to the gills! Did I mention that I ordered a sweet tea to drink and the dude didn 't even bat an eye? When I verified wait, you guys have sweet iced tea?!? He replied, Absolutely. That on its own is nearly worthy of 5 stars. But combined with the excellent food quality, top of the line service, AND the real brewed sweet tea, this place cranks everything straight to 11. Unfortunately, I can only give 5 stars. Rest well knowing they earned them! tl;dr: Banana River Cafe, the Spinal Tap of breakfast cafes!"

"Twenty years later: five full stars. I always came here when I was in college between 1996 and 2000. My wife and I were back in the area for my birthday, and I am glad to say that not only this amazing Brawpub is as great as it was over twenty years ago, it is actually even better. I had the expedition Elk Burger with Fritten, which was a hand-patterned 1/2 lb Elch Burger was perfectly cooked on my request of medium rarely. The burger tasted so good that you could have it by yourself and not complain, but it was loaded with a scinching srumptious coffee bacon jam, a really big black garlic aioli white cheddar. If they give me a bowl of coffee bacon jam, I'd probably eat it. I paired it with the Irish stout, a nitro stout that was a beautiful example of style. Very similar to Guinness, but with further forward chocolate notes. Very creamy head with silky mouth. I wanted to try another style, so I also had the real Hef'n Good. Very fruity what I really like. You can definitely taste the Hallertau Blanc hops with a piney, grassy flavor, but I also have a lot of fruity notes with bananas and citrus as quite prominent. Not sweet, but very well balanced and refreshing. Was particularly good with the frits and a good organic ketchup. My wife had a JR's Jumbo Deluxe with a fried egg, bacon and cheddar, which was also perfectly cooked on her request of a medium, with Clam Chowder and a root beer. It was also worn by the quality of the burger. The Clam-Chowder was good, but the celery in it was a little clamping. We are somehow Chowder Puristen, but so take this with a grain salt. All in all, a fantastic culinary experience. Cosy pub with a look and feeling that has not really changed in two decades, but that is not a criticism. One of my fifteen favorite restaurants everywhere."

"I like this place. When you walk under a sign that says something like ' a lot of alcohol is consumed here ', when entering, we are off to a good start. The staff is friendly. Drinks are well served they can provide a short glass with a double and it is not stuffed with ice. This is my minimum standard. There are a lot of regulars but they are mostly the intellectual kind of introverted type so it 's not an issue for me... and I do like this place I really do it had a large rectangular bar, lots of TVs all good..... however I 've taken away 2 stars and I really should take 3... because, well, I noticed no one was eating and I figured out why. I ordered the Trash Can Nachos. It was aptly named. Important: nachos need to have cheese on them. Especially not the fake cheese from the distributor that sells cans of fake stuff w a shelf life greater than 10 years. I 'm going to stop here. The actual chips and the jalapeño slices and the lettuce were ok. That was it. Please. Please. Pull up some food trucks or just stop serving food. Concentrate on drinks you can improve here but there is something to work with. And then service yes you have a great nice staff but there was a lot of confusion going on and a lot of movement but not a lot of actual service per se. Again talent but in need of direction. Truthfully love him or hate him Jon Taffer could work wonders here. I 'd call him. I 'll be back though... places for us dorky slightly older dudes are getting fewer and farther between.... I 'm rooting for ya!!"
