"the food and the drinks were great. the personal was so nice. the exterior is not so much. not enough heating to keep the patrons warm and the plastic over the terrace was open, so cold wind blows into the sitting area. I don't like feeling my upper legs and finger eating."

"I finally got a chance to eat at the Jalapeno Grille, and first walking in the decor was pretty cool. Then I looked on the menu board. $4 for a taco. $9 for a basic burrito with a $3 upcharge for lengua. We thought to get a special, but we couldn't upgrade to horchata. When the food arrived, the burrito was nothing special. Beans were a little salty. The carne asada taco and taco al pastor were actually pretty fabulous. Regular size tortillas, not street-taco size. Lots of filling in them. I guess for a St. Charles location, the prices aren't outrageous, but for an out-of-towner the bill was pretty steep. Parking is a joke. Other than that it was pretty good."

"Mary Ann 's Mexican in Port Chester is such a lovely little gem. Their slogan is all homemade and you can definitely taste the truth in this! We sat outside in the patio/garden area that was quaintly decorated with string lights and flowers and enjoyed a nice breeze (not a great view, just the parking lot across the street) but regardless a very comfortable spot to sit. We tried their lobster guacamole tostada special (a steal for under $8) and it was delicious! The lobster was definitely cooked in house and well seasoned, guac was great! For entrees we tried the mini tacos which came on authentic CORN tortillas with a delicious cilantro crema that we had to ask for an extra BOWL of because it was so good! Drinks are fairly priced and not too sweet."

"I can not lie the food here is great, it's one of the best on the north side. A little on the pricey side. However, the service is horrible. Meaning the women who answer the phones and take orders. When you call you're on hold for more than 5 minutes then the woman who takes the order act as though she is not knowledgeable and has an attitude. One time I went in and she hit a 15% tip without me consenting. When I said something she acted as if it was a mistake. If you ask for extra sauce or the one that they don't normally put with the order there is a problem. We really like the food there but the service from the folks up front is horrible."

"Perhaps they were good in the past, but today's experience was disappointing. The shrimp in the gumbo was tough, the gravy was too thick, the fries were as hard as if they had been reheated, and the hush puppies were too tough to bite into. I had heard great things about this place for a quick lunch with my mother, but we will not be returning."

"Driving down Washington Ave while hungry is a bad idea for the same reason you're supposed to eat before grocery shopping. regardless, I have no regrets about pulling off the road to try this place out. Picking a random food truck is always a gamble, but I was super impressed by the quality of the food and the speed of service. $11 buys 3 steak tacos on tortillas so tender that they might actually be homemade--I don't know that for sure, but they weren't anything like the even the best storebought variety, so I can only assume. The salsas were flavorful and the red one was HOT, as it should be. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!"

"Went to restaurant for a late lunch. Orders are placed at the counter and when we walked up, the worker picked up chips with his bare hands for our basket without wearing gloves. We considered leaving, however, everyone in our party was hungry so we stayed. I ordered the cheese quesadilla. On the board and on the paper menu on the counter, the cheese quesadilla is listed as $4.99. For some reason, I was charged $7.50. When asked about the price discrepancy, the worker (who used his bare hands for our chips and also took our cash) stated he didn’t know why it was different but still charged us the higher price. We ended up splitting a quesadilla (7inches) and 3 tacos. The fountain drink machine is filthy. Overall, the food was pretty basic Mexican food. The quesadilla looks much smaller than the picture suggests. Bland, but not terrible. Due to the staff and cleanliness of the restaurant, I will not go back."
