"I can not lie the food here is great, it's one of the best on the north side. A little on the pricey side. However, the service is horrible. Meaning the women who answer the phones and take orders. When you call you're on hold for more than 5 minutes then the woman who takes the order act as though she is not knowledgeable and has an attitude. One time I went in and she hit a 15% tip without me consenting. When I said something she acted as if it was a mistake. If you ask for extra sauce or the one that they don't normally put with the order there is a problem. We really like the food there but the service from the folks up front is horrible."

I deducted one star because they are very tight-fisted with the hot sauce!

We really enjoy the tacos at this restaurant! The sopes are also delicious! Overall, I can say that all the food I have tried here is excellent!

Just had the steak taco dinner. Best steak tacos I've ever had steak was juicy, flavorful, and tender. Rice and Beans were awesome as well. Definitely coming back! View menu

I was hesitant to try this restaurant because the area of Chicago it's in isn't known for good Mexican food, but I'm so glad I did. I ordered three carne asada tacos with rice and beans and everything was delicious. It seems like I've discovered a new go-to spot for authentic Mexican cuisine nearby. Food: 5/5.

Awful. The nachos were stale and covered in melted Munster cheese. The steak was chewy and unappetizing with every bite. I had visited this restaurant once before, a couple of years ago, and it was much better. The jalapeños were mushy and lacked flavor. I will not be returning, Meson Del Taco needs to improve. Rating: 1 out of 5.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the service is lacking. Despite claiming orders will be ready in 5-10 minutes, the wait is more like 25-30 minutes. The plexiglass barrier makes communication difficult as both customers and staff struggle to hear each other. Overall, the lack of efficiency and ineffective barriers make for a frustrating dining experience. View menu

I’m a bit of harsh critic because I have high expectations but the food was pretty good. I ordered the Gordita with carne asada and a torta dinner. The Gordita was nice and flavorful, crispy and fresh on the outside. The torta was layered evenly and the bread wasn’t soggy. I just wish the rice didn’t have peas but that’s preference. The sauces were neutral in spice. And the glass Coca-Cola paired great with the meal. Satisfying.

We have visited this restaurant multiple times, and we believe that their tacos are among the best in the area. I typically order the steak tacos while my wife prefers the chicken. We both agree that this establishment lives up to its reputation. Currently, it is only offering take-out service, but there is also some outdoor seating available. Prices are slightly higher, but considering the current situation, it is to be expected. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
