"All thing’s considered, we had had a pretty great experience today at the Egg Harbor Cafe. It has a great ambiance. While the decor is a little dated, the place has a quaint feel. It feels cozy even when it’s super busy. Our service was great, with our waiter being attentive, but not intrusive, and quite pleasant. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. What’s good was great and what was a little off ended up awful. For instance, my egg white omelette was hot and delicious, the pancakes were light and fluffy, and their homemade jam and Eggs Benedict were top notch. Conversely, the “cream” of chicken soup, while very tasty, wasn’t really cream of chicken soup. It was more like chicken noodle. Again, it was tasty but my expectations were set for something different. And the potatoes they serve with almost every entree were absolutely terrible. They were luke-warm, tasted old and flavorless, and are honestly one of the worst things I’ve tasted in awhile. That said, the pros far outweigh the cons and we’ll definitely try this place again. If you want a sold brunch, with good prices and excellent service, this is the place. Just don’t get the potatoes!"
