"Best Deli Food. Period.. OK, I am a fan of Art's, have been for years. Art's Deli in Studio City is a 1 hour drive for my friends and I. It is well worth it. We come from different parts of So Cal ... the OC, South LA, Inland Empire, and High Desert to meet at Art's for lunch. We come to enjoy the great food, the family atmosphere, and each others company. Family atmosphere because we are treated like family by Art's family ... and the servers.<br/ <br/ As for the food, I invariably get pastrami on rye, though friends try other items. Being an ex-NY'er, I feel qualified to say that Art's pastrami on rye is the best this side of the Hudson. I don't understand others' complaints that it is a basic sandwich, just meat and bread? That IS what is served in NY deli's, no garnishings taking away from the taste of the meat and bread and deli mustard. That is what makes a delicious NY deli sandwich. If you want lettuce, tomato, cheese, or other ... ask for it. In NY City, those are not part of a pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, or other meat-type deli sandwich. Art's sandwiches are big, piled high with meat ... NY style. If you don't want NY style .. go to The Hat for their tasteless pastrami.<br/ <br/ We make the 1 hour drive because we love the food ... and Art, Mrs Art, Roberta, and Harold. Did I mention that Art's IS true NY kosher Deli style through and through!<br/ <br/ And if you want a true NY treat ... try a Chocolate Egg Cream, a fountain drink made to true NY specifications."

"I 've dined at NYDN frequently since it opened, and I have had only two bad experiences. One was the most recent visit. When we arrived at 9:45am on a Sunday, the restaurant was nearly empty. Typically, our food arrives far more quickly than I ever expect. This time, it did not. I ordered the Challah French Toast which arrived lukewarm at best. I 'm guessing it sat under the warming lights for a while. Later, after we had finished eating, our waitress stopped by the table, and I requested a container. For the next 20 minutes, I watched her take orders, serve meals, pour coffee, etc. When she brought the container, we asked for our check. She asked if we 'd be paying by cash or credit card. Another 5 minutes or so went by until she returned with the hand-held device to take our credit card payment. I typically never tip less than 20%, but I was so upset by her overall unfriendly attitude and the 20-minute wait to get a take-away container, that I tipped only 10%. I needed a receipt, which she got from the front desk (2 steps from where we were sitting) and practically threw it on the table. Perhaps she is unaware that the word TIPS is an acronym for to insure perfect service. As I said, I have enjoyed NYDN for many, many years, so this experience won 't keep me from returning. I will, however, ask to be seated somewhere other than where she is working."

"**Restaurant Review** I recently had a meal at this establishment, which included both an average and an excellent experience, leading me to settle on a 4-star rating. **Average Meal:** During my visit on a Sunday night, I noticed that the young staff behind the counter lacked experience. I ordered a take-out pastrami sandwich that, at $14.00, had disappointingly little pastrami. Additionally, no condiments (like ketchup or salt) were provided, which was a letdown, especially considering their otherwise impressive French fries. The corned beef in the generously-sized Reuben sandwich was quite fatty. While we hadn’t specifically requested lean meat, it’s worth suggesting that they indicate available condiments and ensure that orders are complete before they are handed over. **Excellent Meal:** In contrast, I later enjoyed a fantastic portion of tongue and a delicious Reuben sandwich, both made with high-quality ingredients and generously filled with meat. The side of coleslaw was very good as well. The sandwiches came with pickles on the side, adding a nice touch. Overall, this is satisfying and well-managed Jewish deli food. **Setting:** The outdoor terrace provides a pleasant dining atmosphere, featuring socially distant tables and reliable table service, which deserves a 5-star rating. **Summary:** This deli offers good traditional Jewish food. On days when it’s “on,” the food in Brooklyn can be exceptional. The outdoor terrace serves as a lovely and safe space to enjoy your deli favorites. To ensure a high-quality experience, especially with takeout or delivery, I recommend paying an extra dollar for lean meat, specifying your condiment preferences, and double-checking your order before leaving to make sure everything is included."
