"We recently visited Tablespoon in San Francisco, and it was fantastic. The venue felt a bit small, but it wasn't cramped, so it wasn't an issue. I appreciated the simple and lovely decor. I started with the dungeness crab salad as my appetizer, which was incredible. It came with a melon sauce and was light and refreshing, making it a perfect starter. For my main course, I had the pork tenderloins, which were thick-cut; despite their appearance of being dry, they were anything but. The only drawback was that they could have used a bit more flavor. I also had a cheese course (the chef is trained at Gary Danko), and it was great—though the selection of cheeses was limited, the portions were generous. For dessert, I chose a chocolate dish that was good (as chocolate desserts usually are), but not extraordinary. What truly stood out was the assortment of fresh-baked cookies that a friend ordered—those were exceptional. On the other hand, the bread pudding was somewhat disappointing, in my opinion. I enjoyed all of these dishes from their prix fixe menu, which is a great deal at $55, including a wine pairing. I definitely recommend giving this place a try, and if you live nearby, I would probably go back."
