"I have been to Rossellini’s multiple times with good service so I decided to have a group birthday dinner there (only people). As soon as we sat down and got our server instantly regretted it!! Our server was very rude to us, wasn’t even going to ask if we wanted a drink besides water and took about minutes to even get to our table. We had to ask for other drinks besides water. Took about minutes to get our other drinks. Took minutes after we sat down to order our food. There was a couple who sat down after us and got their food before we even ordered ours! You are suppose to get bread before the meal. Had to ask times for it and finally got it after our meals came out. We were told they were baking it and had to wait on that which was fine and expected for it to come out warm. But they bread came out ice cold! It was siting there for ever but the waiter never brought it to us! We asked for the checks and took another minutes to get those! The server was so bad that someone from our party had to go behind the bar and help him! We were at the restaurant for over an hour and a half, closer to two hours! I had to ask different times and different servers for the manager to complain. When he finally did come all he said was “we are very busy, so sorry”. I even responded I know your busy and I’ve been here before while you’ve been this busy and had way better service then this. The mananger didn’t even try to make the situation better! I will never go again because the service was awful which is a shame because I’ve been there many times before and it was great and the food is also good. But the last visit made me so mad that I will never go back."

"Food 4 5 Service 1 5 Cleanliness 4 5 Food runner 5 5 Hostess Management 2 5 We go to Panorama almost on regular basis (especially when it comes to Restaurant week, we never miss it every year, and the service and food has always been superb. Waiter and waitresses have always been super nice and knowledgeable. We went here for the first time after the pandemic. It seems they might have either had a management, staff or standards for food and especially service have changed. Last night was a very awkward dining experiences. Not sure if it was busier than their usual restaurant ween or short staff? From the moment we walked in (Somehow each time we go (they just cannot seem to figure out which entrance they want to use for hotel guest and which one they want to use for restaurant guests. So we walked into the entrance that we normally use (like some other guests), instead of being greeted with their usual friendliness, we 're met with a somewhat uncomfortable rudeness by this female hostess or one of the restaurant manager telling us to MOVE to the other side of the entrance, no hello, hi, nothing, since this is a busy area Ok sorry we went to the wrong entrance but maybe next time put a sign up that says entrance to the restaurant is here?. I wish I could say that was the only negative about the experience. Food has always been good good or amazing (Compliments to the chef). Service last night however, was what I would described as fast food-ish. Our waiter (Gabriel or Gideon.. Not 100% sure, since I am pretty bad with names). Seems either new or didn 't study the menu or just did not care for the customer service or the job. Only time we ever saw him was when he dropped of our water, took our order, once to pick up our plates and drop off our check. No checking up, nothing.... In fact when ordering he asked if we had any questions, so we asked What is fish of the day? He said Salmon. What is all in this item, what seasoning? He said just salmon and on the"

"What was supposed to be an intimate, romantic evening out turned into a game to see what ridiculous thing happened next. The attention to aesthetics has sadly overshadowed attention to details of the food and overall experience. It honestly felt like someone saw a hip Manhattan restaurant on tv and tried to recreate the vibe, without understanding that you can 't recreate Manhattan anywhere else. This restaurant is in a stunning old stone building, truly beautiful. The tree in the middle of the room is a little odd but still pretty. There is no noise absorption, so between all the people and the loud thumping music, we had to shout at each other. The table was long and narrow, so that we felt very far apart but somehow there wasn 't enough room and it felt cramped. When we walked in we were greeted by two incredibly beautiful people, who stared us down like they were judging whether we were good enough, and barely said two words (or maybe we just couldn 't hear over the noise). The woman who seated us floated through the restaurant. It looked fantastic but did not make us feel welcome; it was like being seated by the Mean Girl at school. The waitstaff seems to be comprised of 4 or so middle aged men who look like they walked out of a photo of an Italian restaurant from the 40s: very stiff, wearing dress shirts and ties, sort of glowering like they don 't want to be there. They were clearly hired for, again, aesthetics, rather than experience, as the pacing and other details were very off. Most of the actual work of service seems to be done by the army of younger servers who don 't interact as much with customers. Our server (whose name I could not hear over the noise, if he even told us) asked me if I wanted a drink, I asked for sparkling water, and he walked away without asking my husband for his drink order. Then he kept coming to take our order when we were clearly still reading the menus. He did not tell us the fish of the day until we asked. When we finally put our menus down, ready to order, we had to wait quite a while for him to come back. That 's what I mean by uneven pacing; the whole evening went like that. After finishing dessert, we gave up after about 15 minutes and eventually asked a different server for our check. By the way, the menu you see online is only half (or less) of the actual menu. When you arrive, they present you with that one, plus a daily specials menu that is at least as long as the main menu. It includes wines down the bottom and is in tiny print, so it takes a minute to orient yourself to two different double-sided menus: there are at least two wine menus, two lists of appetizers, two lists of pastas, etc. so you have to keep going back and forth. That 's why we took so long to order, we kept finding new things we hadn 't seen yet on the menu. If they want to present a daily changing second menu, they should find a way to better organize that information and present it to customers. The food was inconsistent. There were some dishes that we were really happy to see; as others have noted there are dishes that are pretty rare outside Italy, and a couple that my grandfather used to make for holidays, which was very heartwarming to see. The tuna and tomato salad was very good. The fried zucchini seems to come in different sizes to different tables, but was tasty. Nearly everything was under-seasoned. They did provide a salt shaker (only salt) on the table, so my guess is they under-season for the older patrons and then let you dump salt on top if you want more. The biggest crime is that we both got pasta dishes, and none of the pasta was al dente. It 's not that the food was bad, not at all in fact. However, it doesn 't come close to the food at other restaurants in the area that are similarly priced. You could do better at one of the other Italian restaurants in Bernardsville alone. tl;dr: A hilarious amount of effort trying to look cool and authentic, not quite enough attention on BEING cool and authentic, and definitely not enough attention on consistently delicious and amazing food."
