"Disappointing rolls and an unsatisfying experience. After our meal at Sakana, we headed to Dumpling House to cleanse our palates. We felt misled in our choice, believing the high 4.5-star reviews and bright, enticing photos would lead us to a charming sushi spot in Cambridge. Unfortunately, the signature rolls contained as little fish as you’d find in supermarket sushi. In fact, that’s not entirely fair—supermarket sushi often has more fish. The Rocky Roll was primarily filled with cucumber and crispy shallots, drizzled with a mango sauce, with only a few slices of salmon thrown in for good measure. The Spicy Crispy Shrimp was neither spicy nor seasoned, and certainly not crispy. The quality of ingredients in the Chirashi was disappointing; the egg was pre-made, cold, and rubbery, while the clam had an off, soapy taste. The sashimi pieces? Just mediocre. I recognize the harshness of this review (we did eat a good portion, thanks to sunk-cost fallacy), but anyone ordering a restaurant’s SIGNATURE roll naturally expects something spectacular, not something that falls short of a basic California roll."
