"The centerpiece of the meal was undoubtedly the grilled sandwich. From the very first bite, it was clear that the chefs emphasize high-quality ingredients and skillful preparation. The sandwich was a delightful balance of textures and flavors, showcasing a level of culinary expertise that distinguished it from the usual fare. Paired with the sandwich were French fries generously doused in brown gravy—an indulgent treat that enhanced the entire meal. The combination of crisp fries and rich gravy was a pleasant surprise, adding an extra layer of comfort. The attention to detail extended to the drink selection, especially the coffee. For coffee lovers, the brew at Palace Restaurant is a genuine pleasure. It was rich, strong, and skillfully made, perfectly complementing the food. It's evident that the restaurant takes pride in creating a holistic dining experience right down to the last sip. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff also stood out. The friendly atmosphere and my server’s attentive service greatly enhanced the overall enjoyment of the meal. The courtesy and promptness of the staff contribute to a welcoming setting where guests are made to feel right at home. In summary, Palace Restaurant at 122 E 57th St is a must-visit for anyone seeking a culinary refuge in the heart of New York City. "Me and my wife visited this location for dinner, one of the waitress told us to sit anywhere we'd like, there were 2 waitresses, and the one that helped us seemed to be in a rush, eventhough she said hi, she asked us if we were ready, we said not quite ready and she walked away, the coffe we got was cold and seemed to be sitting in the pot for a long time, she came back and took our order, we ordered a sampler appetizer that came at the same time as the dinner, my Philly cheese steak was good and hot, the French fries were cold, my wife ordered the taco salad and had a good presentation but as she started to eat it looked like they chopped 3 hamburger patties and placed them on top of a handful of lettuce, the waitress disappeared for a few minutes and we had to call the bus boy so my wife can order something else, then the waitress came and we told her the situation and she rolled her eyes and took the new order, the she came and dropped the French toast which half wasn't cook all the way, she never came back to check on us, finally she came and slammed the check on the table and walked away, we didn't want to complain about the food cos she might think we wanted free food. Anyway we always go to country inn in prospect. But tonight we wanted to give it a try here. It's sad how restaurant business is not what it used to be, nowadays owners managers are so greedy that the only thing they care is to make money, and servers see that if they are careless(owners and managers) of course nobody cares, I used to work for a long time in the restaurant business and was totally different great service and good food( this is the second order we got. Just to prove that is not BS!!!!"
