"My wife and I looked over the menu, and soon one of the five young staff members brought us water and cutlery, assuring us that our server would be with us shortly. We patiently waited for almost 20 minutes, watching other customers arrive, sit, order, and receive their meals while we remained unattended. It became clear that we had been seated in an area that was overlooked by the serving staff, as another server was busy attending to tables in a different section. Eventually, after we were ignored for nearly half an hour, a server finally came over, apparently out of breath, to take our order. Our food arrived about ten minutes later, and to be fair, it was quite good. However, as we ate, we noticed several tables asking for napkins, ketchup, and extra water while the young staff members chatted and joked together in the doorway. When we got up to pay our bill, we saw an older male cashier asking other tables how they enjoyed their meals. When I paid, he noticed the entertainment coupon I had on my receipt and simply gave me my change without inquiring about our experience. What do we think of Susie's? The place was busy, and the food was decent, but it seems like the staff could use more training. Our server appeared to be overwhelmed, and if the younger help had assisted with bringing napkins and condiments, it would have alleviated some of the pressure. It might also have been the case that we were seated in an area that wasn't assigned to any server. Perhaps one of the scheduled servers had called in sick that day, leaving only two to manage the workload. As of now, we can't recommend Susie’s, especially not on a Sunday. We left feeling irritated rather than satisfied, and we would have preferred to go to Denny's instead. The reason I’m sharing this detailed account is in hopes that it provides constructive feedback for both Susie’s and the entertainment book, as well as to vent a little. And yes, we did leave a tip, as our server did try their best to take care of us — they might have excelled with more effective support."

"Pastries and coffee are great!! Normally, staff is very friendly. However, today, 12/17/23, was the worst service we received.Got 3 lattes, 3 pastries, which I told that I didn 't need heated up. I get my coffees and no pastries so I just let Esa ? the assistant manager know and she said its coming, its in the oven. So I just commented oh I didn;t need it heated, but ok . That comment seemed to have annoyed her for some reason. She just had a look on her face. So I wait and she finally hands me the pastries and they are the wrong ones. I tell the other person blond lady with her hair up and they finally figure out it 's the wrong order. Esa goes and bags mine up and kind of throws it on the counter. No sorry about that , thanks for waiting . I notice one of the bags is wet and dripping from maybe where she had laid it. So i ask if I can get a new bag and she doesn 't say anything, dumps my pastry on the counter, gets a new bag and she grabs a tong to re bag it, but decides I am not worth that service and just hands me the bag to put the pastry in the bag myself. While she was getting the new bag, she makes a face at her blond coworker...how do I know even though Esa 's back is to me? Because the blonde lady smirks. I 've never had such a bad service here before. Whenever, I go, everyone is super friendly and cheerful. But this morning, pretty much all the ladies working, even the curly hair lady had some attitude. The young lady at the register was fine...she seemed new.Unbelievable and almost feel like there was a racists undertone as they were all caucasian and I was among only 2 asians in there and our orders were the ones they got wrong. After i left, I was so mad, I called to ask for a manager, the lady answering said he 's not in yet. I ask for the name of the barista who was wearing the black cardigan and the jeans, and she asks Why? . I tell her because of the poor service I received this morning that I wanted to discuss with the manager. She then lets me know that it was her and she 's the assistant manager, Esa ? . I was shocked to learn she was the assistant manager??!! I asked her why she was so rude to me, what did I do to warrant such service and all she said was Sorry . Someone needs to go back to training on customer service. It 's too bad, I live in San Ramon we would go out our way to come to Lever for the ambiance, friendly service and the yummy coffee and pastries. Very disappointing."

"I loved this place when it was on Sherman, this is the 1st time I've been here in 10 years or more. And it's just as good as I remember. Google maps will lie about how to get in here. From Hayden avenue, turn at the Maverick, on N. Kirkpatrick street, you'll see the sign for Rustlers on the 1st driveway on the right. It's behind the Maverick. I was greeted by Woody, who confirmed I was seating just 1 person, then bragged about his Algebra skills. Lol He's always been a funny guy, he's the original owner. I was seated in back where I could read in semi quiet. The server was friendly and prompt, I had a Waffle smothered in butter and syrup, with 2 eggs over easy (perfectly done, btw) with 2 bacon, a small glass of OJ, and a glass of chocolate milk. All of which arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. I slow munched my meal and read, with the server popping by every 15 minutes or so. They were friendly, fast, the food was delicous and just how I remembered it, and all of that food costed me $14.89. I was there about an hour, reading, enjoying the classic rock and oldies playing over head. And if you favor old western type decor with various oddities, you will love Rustlers Roost. And They have homemade teas and soaps for sale up front, with other little original items. I didn't really look too closely, Idk what the prices were, but hopefully my pictures tell the story for me. I came for the nostalgia, and good food, and I wasn't disappointed, nd had a few laughs while I was there. That's why I give it 5 stars. Because there isn't 6 stars to give."
