"On a recent business trip I discovered this restaurant while looking for a place to eat. I absolutely loved the décor and style of this building, portions of it built-in the 1600s and other parts built-in the early 1800s it's rustic historic and warm feel resonated with me. There is a nice upstairs area covered in old wine bottles which look amazing as you walk up the stairs and into the upper room. The downstairs has 2 bar seating areas as well as tables in the front and rear. There was plenty of parking and it was not too busy when we arrived. The service was friendly prompt and everything was delicious. If you're looking for great food and a place with a lot of character, this may be up your alley."

"Crab dip was subpar but steamed shrimp was awesome. Server never cleared the table before bringing out more food. Then the runner looked confused when I asked her to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed the building was under negative air pressure caused from Kitchen hood exhaust (kitchen saloon doors sucked in) causing hot humid exterior air to rush into the restaurant when the exterior doors would open. Sit away from doors if you want A/C. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to long pier on the water."

"Have eaten here several times. Was surprised that with a reservation we were still sitting at a booth looking into the kitchen. We could have asked to be moved, but we didn't want to. The waiter was very enthusiastic, but failed to fill glasses of water without being asked. My husband's lasagna was a huge brick in the middle of an unadorned plate. A little salad or something green and crispy would have been nice. Not an à la carte fan, especially when it comes to the price of the main course alone. The room was very dark and a bit noisy. I would ask not to sit in this area another time."

"I only had a few minutes to grab something to shove in My face and was in this area so I decided to stop by and order a breakfast sandwich to-go and I 'm glad I did because it was amazingly delicious and filling. Can 't ever go wrong with a Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese on a Roll with extra Meat added, they say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I 'm not really sure who they are but they definitely know what they 're talking about. Now years ago I also remember stopping in here a few times long before this app even existed or at least long before I knew Yelp existed I should say, but whatever I 'm here now and that 's all that really matters. Anyway getting back to the Montville Diner I 've always liked this spot and I seriously have to make it a regular stop whenever I 'm over this way. Who knows maybe next time I 'll have some extra time on my hands and grab a sit down style meal. Come And Get Your Munch On!!"

"Never even walked through the door of this place, but just got the vibe of terrible service from a guy. The man in the green shirt was taking a phone call outside and was blocking the doorway as we walked up to it. We were hoping to have a nice breakfast after a long tour, but he rudely corrected us away from the door (WHILE ON THE PHONE) and to a line outside of the restaurant. We are not familiar with the area, and we have never visited before, but the way he acted like we were supposed to automatically know where to go (with no signage outside the diner at all), just made us walk away and go down the street to another diner. Much better service at Nassau Diner, would definitely rather go there instead. Thank god for this awfully rude interaction!"

"I wanted to love this place since it had SO many great reviews but unfortunately our visit was horrible. The server was not very friendly. We ordered wings, ears, curly fries, cole slaw and some corn nugget app. The wings were so small! What a HUGE letdown.The coleslaw cost $4 for this tiny container! What a rip off. Their curly fries were the best thing and they were obviously froma frozen bag. I asked our server for hot sauce on the side because the sauce wasn't spicy at all, she never brought it out. Istill left a good tip $18 on a $93 bill but we will never return here. Not sure if so many people love it because it's a localspot but spending over $100 for that quality is ridiculous."

"The restaurant was conveniently located for us and the menu looked good. When we arrived they had no means of checking a reservation and didn't have a table ready for us. It took about 15 minutes for anyone to greet our table at all, so we were able to already decide on our dinner by the first time a server talked to us. It then took another 25-30 minutes for our dinner to arrive. We had a Caesar salad, sliders, and lobster mac and cheese and I wouldn't order any of it again. The beer was good and it seemed like a fun place. There was live music that was really good, but the whole place was so loud it was impossible to have a conversation."

"We've eaten here several times during the summer and always enjoyed the outdoor space. The indoors was comfortable and the food was well presented and delicious. Our son always asks for the Irish Nachos as an appetizer, and they never disappoint! The baked haddock, fish tacos and salmon risotto were excellent. Our server was always available at the right time and the food arrived quickly. Definitely recommend."

"My girl friend and I were looking for a romantic destination, and hadn't booked out ahead, so we were limited in our options. The reviews looked positive. But, it was essentially an old bar with tables and booths, high ceilings and bright ceiling lights. The food was really good, and although our soup came out cold, they reheated it. If you want any ambiance, try somewhere else. If you want good relatively inexpensive food and don't mind sitting in view of the bar and TVs, give it a shot."

"We were sat by a host. First our waiter gave us our menus then decided to pass us off to another waiter. "1. visit this great restaurant. both the hostess and the server were welcoming and were served within 5 minutes. our martinis were super cold and exactly made right, followed by home made creamy muscheln. my wife and I ordered calves and chicken piccata with fresh green beans and the side of linguini. "Wish they had a little more price-friendly menu. $18 a burger, $18 for a charcuterie appetizer, $17 for a salad. It’s alright for the prize. Not like “WOW.” The vegetarian Mediterranean Zoodles were underwhelming. The Zoodles were watered down at the bottom of the bowl it looked like a soup. I was excited to eat the balsamic with it but it only came as a drizzle so I asked for a side of it and it didn’t help the dish “pop” at all. Other than this, the staff are super friendly. The atmosphere is nice, lights are quiet and sets the mood. We went during the day- it was dim but we were brought to a table by a window and the windows shed in too much light if you sit there. There were also a plethora of fruit flies and house flies I kept swatting with my wife the entire time we were at dinner. We moved tables to avoid the light and flies and somehow there were some even in the middle of the restaurant. Millers Tavern was really good when they first opened but I feel like they’re lacking a bit. Other than the Zoodles the food was good. My wife got the chicken tacos and said they were delicious. Not a huge chicken fan but if she says it was tasty, I believe her! "So, we were traveling through Rochester and got on Open Table. We found this place and picked it because of their early bird. The early bird was until 6:00 and had a great deal of problem just finding this place but still got there by 5:54. Well the place was nearly empty but by the time they got our table ready it was6:04 and we were too late to get the early bird. I mentioned our plight but to no avail. apparently it was a ‘computer problem’. Really. So we ordered off thee menu and had mediocre bar food."

"Located on a remote road leading to Mount Rainier, the scenery surrounding the restaurant is simply gorgeous. We didn't stay in the rooms but we did stop for lunch on our road trip. The food was fresh, well prepared, tasty, and reasonably priced, but what stood out was the incredible service we received. One of the people in our group had a lupus flare up and was really having a hard time. Our waitress, Trinity, was so kind and understanding. All the staff there went out of their way to make sure it was a good experience for us. We all know it's people who make a business, and these people make this business great! I highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful experience!"
