"I’m a Squamish local and I just wanted to order some food I put an order on skip, and it said it went through then I get a notification saying that it had been cancelled as no response had happened. So I’m like well ok so I go onto their website and it says unavailable to order at this time. Try to call 5 times directly to the restaurant then after no answer call the casino and ask if it’s open with the answer yes the person transferred me to the restaurant FINALLY some one answer and I explained what happened and no apology but offered to take my order over the phone. Sure what ever then she’s like oh don’t have my note pad be right back… another 2 mins.. comes back sorry I just have to complete another order… then her pen runs out has to get another pen… finally put in the order and when I ask how long she says in not the nicest tone ‘’honestly I’m not sure’’We live a 3 minute drive and we don’t go there in person cause the servers that we have had tend to be rude, make it seem like your inconveniencing them and they literally hate their life. Being a Squamish local I’m not surprised that they can’t keep this placed staff or keep management around"

"As always, the servers and staff at Match are top notch. We are regulars. My son in law's parents came to visit from Sault Ste. Marie, and we decided to go to Match for happy hour and then back to our place to watch the Superbowl. Ask me how impressed I was to arrive, be seated, and then to be told there was no happy hour that day. NOT IMPRESSED. We go almost weekly for happy hour. It is held EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. It is your establishment and you are absolutely within your rights to decide not to have a happy hour. What was NOT ok, was that there was no prior warning. I initially made the reservation on line no warning there. I called the restaurant itself to amend the reservation several days prior, discussed the fact that it was Superbowl Sunday and why we were coming (happy hour) no warning then either. I am assuming that you value your regular customers, and when you decide to do something like cancelling your regular happy hour, there should be SOME notice given, especially if and when reservations are made. It is a reasonable expectation that you have happy hour daily (you advertise such) and it is also a reasonable expectation that when you cancel something that draws your regular customers, you let them know. Our waitress, Olivia, was wonderful and very apologetic, although it was NOT her fault obviously. She tried her best to recommend drink specials, etc. that could help make up for the lack of happy hour and we very much appreciated that. You have a great establishment, and one of, if not the best, patios in Sarnia. Yet, you continue to make decisions that make it hard for your regulars to continue to patronize (I have many many examples if you wish to hear them), and you also do not make financial decisions to capitalize on the gem that you have. Match Eatery should be THE place to go in Sarnia, you have the facilities and resources available. Experiences like what happened to us yesterday will definitely taint our willingness to come and bring guests."

"Booked 2 tables for 8 on OpenTable. Turned up to be told they couldn't seat us all. When those of that did stay to eat there, we found that the restaurant was not even half full. 3 tables of four as well as a booth were empty next to us. Service was slow, server was very nice though. Food was just ok, fish tacos came with a side of ketchup which we found odd. Assuming the slow service and lack of ability to seat us was down to not having the staff. Restaurant is next to 2 hotels though, both of which were full due to the tournament we were in so would suggest that they build a relationship with those to be aware of largw group bookings and be ready for the demand."

"I am giving this a 1 star review only based on the bartending staff's apologies and attentiveness. We were in town for a soccer weekend and this establishment could not have been less prepared for it. Put our names in for party of 7 at 6:45pm. Text said it would be an hour and a half wait as the hostess told us about an hour. Second text immediately updated to 50 minute wait time. We found a couple stools at bar and got some drinks. About 2 hours into our sitting there and gathering more stools we checked with an overworked hostess who said she would do her best and we never heard another thing again. As we sat at the bar we watched as other parties just came in and sat down at tables without seeing the host stand and they were given menus and taken care of. I stared at a table in the corner that was not bussed or cleaned our entire time we sat at the bar about 3 hours. There was a booth that was bussed after one hour but never wiped and a pile of crumbled chips sat there as we left hours later. We were never followed up with, never shown a table. There were TONS of vacant seats inside and outside and we were told it was a staffing issue. The bartenders were really good and we ended up getting food and drinks at the bar but our meal took over an hour to come out and I am attaching an image of the poutine they let leave the kitchen and served to me. It was obvious that appetizer sat there for the entire hour we waited and I was mortified they still served it. A town local sitting next to us told us do not come here to eat, get some drinks here but don't get the food. Wish we ran into him sooner."

"Restaurant atmosphere was great with the pictures and paraphernalia of Mr. Bettis. We were so excited to make this one of our top sites on our first ever visit all the way from NC to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, but unfortunately when it came to waiting for our order and our food. This became one of the worst experiences during our entire trip. We waited 45 minutes once we ordered our food and the restaurant wasn’t even half full. My husband ordered the deviled egg appetizer which should have came before our food, but after we got our dishes was told by the waiter that new eggs were still being prepared. Our dishes were very disappointing as well and didn’t have any flavor. We also were disappointed because in preparation for our visit the other guests and I had went on the website to download the free appetizer offer for visiting the restaurant, but it would not download and we called the restaurant about it before coming to Pittsburgh and the host acted like they didn’t know what we were referring to as well as the waiter at the restaurant. The waiter offered a dessert on the house to compensate for the terrible experience, but then changed his mind after another waiter finally brought out three deviled eggs to our table after we were finished eating and an hour and thirty minute wait!! Thank goodness we paid for two hours of parking. Mr. Bettis we expected better especially since your restaurant was supposed to be one of the top choices and we are your number one Steelers fans!!"

"First time there. Did not even know there was a great BBQ place down river, but I am so glad I found this place. I had the sampler for 2 and ate my fill and had plenty to take home to my family who loved it. A great value and each bite of that samplier (pulled pork, brisket, chicken, ribs) was tender, juicy, and delicious. Exactly what I expected. My only constructive feedback would be that when my buddy and I asked for the beer menu, the wait person gave us a list of like 6 or so draft beers, (none I had heard of and most contained some kind of fruit or herbs etc.. yuk for us) and the rest were bottled beers like Blue Moon or Fat Tire, etc... and she told us the beer meny was on the back side of the napkin dispenser. OH, ok.... Those beers were reasonable i guess (about 4 bucks for a 12 Oz bottle) but we were looking forward to a good/great draft tall beer and they did not seem to have that or just did not seem to be able to suggest/ sell the right beer (seemed not to know much about the draft beers). Again... we had a good time, great food, and okay beer and all at a reasonable price. Will be going back again very soon. Yum!!! I hope they will UP their beer and even wine selection by then. There are so many great Michigan beverage choices out there. I know they can do better on that, but the BBQ is awesome... don 't change that!!!"

"We celebrated my father's 70th birthday at this restaurant, and the service was outstanding! The waitress was fantastic; she consistently kept our drinks filled and even assisted with taking photos. The hostess and coordinator went above and beyond to help execute the surprise for my dad. I highly recommend this place for any party or just a nice dinner out!"

"This place has the potential to be great, but it's clear that the owners don't care. It seems they make enough revenue during the summer that they neglect both their staff and the establishment itself. Just look at the filthy doors! If that’s the first impression they give to customers, I can only imagine what the kitchen must be like. The men’s restroom has a urinal that’s coming apart. Overall, the place is merely average. As a local who wants to see this restaurant succeed, I’m disappointed by the inconsistency in the food. Each time we visit, there seems to be an excuse about the kitchen being "understaffed" and the staff being poorly trained. While some of these issues might be overlooked, the lack of cleanliness is hard to ignore! Is this what they want to show tourists? It’s quite a scandal. If they're experiencing financial difficulties, perhaps it’s time to consider a change in management. Additionally, I witnessed an argument between servers in the prep area, which is located right in the middle of the restaurant."

"Why isn’t everyone flocking to this place? We visited for lunch on Sunday, a day when most restaurants are packed, but not this one. We were seated right away. The lunch menu is fantastic, and there’s a great variety on the kids' menu, ranging from PB&J to three different types of pasta. I ordered the pulled pork, which was genuine pulled pork and not just a sloppy joe. My wife tried the hot pastrami and said it was delicious. The sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection. My daughter had the mini burgers, which were done just right at a perfect medium. I took a bite and it was so good that I've already decided to order it next time we come. We will definitely be back!"

"Absolutely horrible service. We came with a big party and gave them a heads up before we came. We waited 20 minutes after being seated for drinks. The server was extremely nice although after getting a couple of our plates we asked our bus boy who was running the food out when the rest was coming take in mind we were just waiting for a house salad a ny strip, the other 7 of us were almost done when the other two got there food. The bus boy was extremely rude, unpleasant and very unprofessional to our family. We spent a large amount money here and were extremely disappointed by the rudeness of the staff. We would strongly recommend going to ryebelles over here we wanted to try something new but never again!"

"I had reservations for a business lunch with a client. I arrived early and was seated. Then I was told I was at the wrong table so I was moved. It took a very long time for the food to arrive and we were never told the food is coming, etc. There was a very strange knocking noise above our table like someone was hammering on the floor above us. The fish was good but a bit salty and the creamed spinach on the side was very small. We picked the restaurant for the location. Not the best lunch experience."
