"I went there with my wife and daughter on a relatively quiet Tuesday evening and found ourselves waiting a while after being seated. I tried to be patient. My daughter ordered the pork katsu kids bento, which turned out to be the highlight of our meal. My wife opted for udon and a roll, while I chose the chirashi and ama ebi (sweet shrimp). We waited longer than expected for our food.
At last, the dishes started to arrive. My daughter's katsu and my wife's udon came first. Luckily, we had them start eating because I knew I would be waiting longer. The katsu was tasty, and for a moment, I thought maybe the negative reviews were being too harsh. However, when I tried my wife's udon, I was disappointed. The broth was overly salty—despite my constant reminders to my wife about salt, even she found it too salty. The noodles were overcooked and lacked the springiness they should have had.
Just as they were halfway through their meals, my ama ebi finally arrived. It was decent, but I was still waiting for my chirashi. When it finally came, I wished it hadn’t. The bowl was quite small, making it difficult to eat comfortably. Instead of the usual leaves used for separation, there were slices of orange and lemon, which I found confusing at first. But then I realized— they were likely used to mask the fish's odor.
The fish itself was unappetizing. Some of it had a fishy taste, while others were slightly slimy. The fatty tuna had gristle and was discolored, and both the fish and the seaweed salad were served very cold, seeming as if they had been sitting in the fridge for far too long. The rice was cold, dry, and unseasoned. Overall, the experience was a disaster. I still had a bad fish taste lingering long after the meal.
I can't recommend this place. There are far better options out there. I've had better sushi from grocery stores in North Dakota. I just hope I don't regret this meal later."
