"Weve been ordering here for many years and the last few times the guy who delivers is rude. Hes complained about the distance he had to travel and he had to travel in thr rain... mind you we are a mile away not rhe other side of the island. We ordered today he came he took the money and then held his foot in the door asked me how much the order was. I found that ods and then he counted the money in front of me made a nasty face and left. Apparebtly he had a problem with the tip and thought the name on the mailbox said rockafeller. Needless to say we will not be ordering from them again the service has gone to hell."

"Another outstanding meal to impress out-of-town guests. Marco is a perfect host. Warm bread with garlic and oil, and the meatball appetizer is always a huge hit. So much so that one of my guests ordered more as his entree! My favorite is the veal saltimbocca, which is no longer on the menu but which remains available. My other guests went with fettucine carbonara and chicken Milanese, and both were thrilled. We were too full for dessert!"

"Excellent ! We loved the food and drinks! Innovative and interesting menu and the dishes are as tasty as they sound. Four of us shared a sampler starter plate, mantoo, a vegetarian plate and beef kofta kabob with saffron rice. The portions were plentiful but not huge and had distinctive, balanced flavors. We will be back!"

"The pizza was excellent, especially the crust, which is something I rarely praise. It had just the right combination of crispiness and chewiness that made each bite enjoyable. The counter service, however, was just okay; the staff didn't seem very enthusiastic, which slightly dampened the overall atmosphere. "Warning: The worst Italian food I've ever had in New York City! The appearance and aromas are very misleading. It’s extremely cheap, but it feels like a waste; I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine. I ended up tossing it straight into the garbage because it had little to no flavor and felt quite unpleasant. I actually felt sick afterwards, as if I had rocks in my stomach! Proceed with caution!"

"Worst service! I placed an order for delivery and was told the driver would be arriving in 1 min. 10min passed as I waited from my apartment for the driver to arrive and call once in the lobby. He calls me and says “if you’re not coming we’ll cancel the order”. I asked if he was here and he hung up on me and refused to take my return calls. My partner who lives with me has cancer and was not feeling well. For me to leave her unattended for any length of time could be dangerous. The driver couldn’t wait the 1 min for me to get on the elevator and down to the lobby. I called the restaurant and the manager was extremely combative. Explaining how busy they were. When the fact is I paid them for a service which was not rendered and non-conforming. After explaining my partners illness he then said I could walk to the restaurant and pick it up. I couldn’t tell if he was being sarcastic or just that stupid. If you’re not equipped to fulfill your service obligations to your patrons that is on you. It is not my responsibility as the consumer to accommodate you. Terrible customer service and completely compassionless."

"This is truly an amazing place. Incredible Italian Food. Homemade taste like you were eating at your family's home. Excellent marinara sauce (perfect in my opinion). Sal and Russ family really know their stuff and they treat everyone that walks in like family. They have wood fired brick oven pizza that is perfect. Usually we get the Pugliese (broccoli rabe and sausage) which is exactly what we got this time (lol). They have a lot of great pizza but that's my favorite. Fried calamari is always incredible. We also had chicken parm and penne alla vodka, and salmon with broccoli. I finished off with one of their daily specials Rigatoni Norma (rigatoni with fried eggplant and ricotta cheese). Wow it was so good i came again the same week for the same dish (and the Pugliese pizza and Fried calamari LOL). Finished off with an expresso with sambuca. I have know Sal for many years and he really knows his stuff. Pasta always al dente (little firm, which is the only way you should eat pasta), marinara sauce is always perfect (just like when mom makes it), as is everything they make there. Also, don't forget they make the best Italian sandwiches. My favorite is the mixed seafood (fried shrimp calamari) with marinara sauce (i like it spicy so i add crushed red pepper). Good size portions and reasonable pricing make this the go to spot in the area. Try for yourself you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend. Buon Appetito!"

"Went with a large group after a burial which we call a repass. The place needs a makeover. It smelled musty. The food wasNot good. On the hot appetizer there was a stuffed mushroom a baked clam eggplant rolatini and mozzarella corrozza. The only thing that was edible was the mozzarella. The other things were dry and had a tang. Next up was pasta, that wasn't bad. Then salad, also not bad. Dinner options were veal franchaise, a chicken dish and salmon. They weren't terrible but after the appetizer having a tang,I couldn't eat much. I asked for a simple piece of grilled chicken which was awful. How do you mess up that? I wish i could un eat what i did consume. I wouldn't recommend this place at all."

"I booked Roma for my father's 90th bday lunch celebration. I've been there many years ago n now Roma looks beautiful with its new party rooms n fancy bar. My guests enjoyed a delicious lunch from salad, penne pasta n choices of: chicken parm, veal francese n broiled salmon. I must say, the food was delicious, hot to the plate. "We recently attended a catered event, and unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. It was subpar and excessively salty. The salad was made up of soggy lettuce and was served on a small plate meant for bread and butter. I ordered the stuffed filet of sole, but I had to use a knife just to cut through the overwhelming amount of bread stuffing. The other guests were also dissatisfied with their choices. The portions were small and lacked flavor, apart from being overly salty. The pastries provided for a table of ten were tiny and insufficient for even five people. To top it off, the coffee was served at room temperature, and there were no milk or spoons available on the table. The wait staff was, at best, underwhelming."

"I went to Fontanella's for a nice dinner Friday evening with my husband, daughter, and sister who was in from out of town. We arrived around 9:30. We asked our server what time they closed and she said 11:00. (website listed 11:30, but we figured we still had time for dinner). We ordered appetizers and drinks and a carafe of wine. We noticed upon arrival there was a group of people at the bar and one behind the bar with a glass of wine in his hand. There was only one other table occupied. We ordered our entrees, were served, and were finishing up our wine at around 10:55 when we noticed the lights went up and music was turned off. A man who we later discovered was the owner came over and very rudely told us it was time to go. My husband, who just finished paying a check for $118 was floored. We are not used to being treated so inconsiderately so my husband spoke up and asked the guy if he was the owner to which the man replied he was. This man's actions were totally uncalled for, and inappropriate toward a paying customer. We told him we would not be back and he called my husband a nobody and stated he did not need our business. We will never step foot in this establishment again and it appears the owner needs to have a few less glasses of wine if he is going to be handling customers."

"I've been visiting this restaurant since I was a child with my family, and it has become one of my favorite spots for date nights with my husband. The prices are fantastic. As a vegetarian, I absolutely love their cheesy Sicilian ziti, which is served with a side salad and the best garlic bread! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, even though it might be a bit outdated. The quality of take-out is just as good as dining in. Our food always arrives quickly, and no matter how many times we’ve eaten here, the quality has consistently been excellent!"
