"You know you’re in an Italian home when you see a large wooden spoon +fork hanging from the wall. An Italian home is exactly what it feels like here with their delicious food and attentive service. I had: the house salad which was perfectly doused with the in house vinaigrette, a margarita pizza which was plenty for me to take home and was even more delicious cold Idk how and let me tell you about this rice pudding; not too sweet a perfectly delicate balance of delectably goodness you’re going to want to order extra to take home."

The best Italian place in prospect heights. They've been around and will continue to keep serving home style Italian food. Don't expect some pretentious bk Italian place, Cataldos is good food by good people at great prices View menu

Homey, delicious, and well priced for Vanderbilt. It’s not the now typical elevated-way-too-expensive pasta and pizza. It’s just well made authentic Italian. Deserves way more of a crowd than it gets, but I’m grateful I was able to just walk in and eat

A great family owned Resturant in Brooklyn where owner gave us some history about location. 14 years of business what a great place to come with your family I Started with fresh fried calamari 12 Margarita pizza. Yes, I over did it but I was hungry So delicious

Every now and then, you stumble upon a hidden gem, and this restaurant is just that. It has a charming old-school Italian vibe and serves amazing brick oven pizza. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly, and the food and atmosphere are delightful. I will definitely be coming back! View menu

Cataldo's was a cute Italian restaurant. Very spacious, but uncomfortably quiet. The food was pretty good and the portions were a good size, enough to bring home leftovers. There was one waitress that reminded me of the Italian Nona's I see on tv, who took orders on an old fashioned note pad. She was very pleasant.

Although the name suggests it's just a pizza place, the Italian cuisine here is fantastic. I had the veal parmesan, and it was outstanding. It has that classic "old school NYC" Italian vibe, which is part of its charm. The restaurant is run by Sal, along with his wife and daughter. Seriously, you should check it out! I wish I had taken a photo of the veal, but I was too busy enjoying every bite.

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
