"today I have placed my first order with ista by doordash. dd has approx. 12% markup, plus shipping costs, service fee and driver tip. if they can collect personally, isas web page gives them the right prices. the prices are reasonable. first was $7 palak chat, a appetizer. it came in a pint size container, and is medium sized and large spinat leaves, rolled in kichererbsen flour, then flash fried. it is not super oily, and it is not super wild. even from the delivery it was still sharp. it has only a little spicy, and a little salt in it. that is a new favorit. the portion size is good for 2 people. next it was $2.00 naan, if they don't know what's naan, they think of a fresh puffy tortilla. it is less dense than a pita, and less fat than a flour tortilla. it is about 8' diameter, half cut, packed in foil. you tear and dip it in sauces that they offer (mint chutney, bbq sauce, and some creamy sauce that might have been ranch, I skipped it and used it to pick up some of my entree. Last was a $13 saag paneer. saag means greens. sometimes it is just spinat (aka palak) and sometimes it is savoury or other things. the greens are a pure, thick as gravy, with a buttery taste (because it contains butter) paneer means cheese, but it is not like the blocks of the colored cheddar. this is fresh and has texture and taste more like ricotta. it is dry and cut into small, bite-sized cubes. for my order I have a quarter of it, plus styropor sandwich container by jasmin reis. the taste was excellent, and everything I was hoping for. the amount of the wiper was directly at the edge. sometimes I like an extra wiper. I didn't think about it, and I'm not sad, but I could ask for extra next time. the portion size is good for three portions. I'm a big, gluttonian guy, and I put a third of it in the refrigerator. this meal was great. I missed that. I'm fat and happy. I think I have to take my family to immerse, but I always forget that they exist, unless I pass for another purpose. Online order helps me remember."

"Our family went here to celebrate my aunt's birthday a couple weeks ago, and to get my grandma out of the house for one of the few times during covid. First of all, my family can be a little hard to wait on. Not rude, just kind of strange requests and whatnot. But our server took care of us very well the entire time. One of our family members had a hurt leg and needed to keep it raised. The server immediately got us an extra chair, no questions asked. When we first sat down, there was no music playing which made it a little awkward. We asked her about putting on music, and she immediately put on some wonderful Bollywood music videos on their huge TV. She took the time to take everyone's order and answer any questions. It was a bit much, but she handled all of us with patience, and she was knowledgeable on the food. The food did take a while to come out, but we were a large party, so fair enough. When it did though, everything was excellent. They told us what each dish was as they brought them out, which was helpful since we were sharing it all. At first, we were thinking we might not have ordered enough because it didn't look like alot. But we actually couldn't finish it all and had to take some home with us, and a few of us are pretty big eaters. We were stuffed, and it was all delicious. At the end of the meal, we were asked about dessert and we replied that we were going back to the house for dessert, but when she saw it was my aunt's birthday, she brought out gulab jamun with a raspberry drizzle, one for each of us. That was really nice of her and an excellent way to wrap up the meal without filling us up too much for our later dessert. Also, I could tell that she treated our grandma with patience and extra respect, which was very nice to see.I would also like to say that the two top bad reviews, one is complaining about the prices and the fact that they have signs up for a buffet they don't have anymore. With covid, food prices have doubled on many ingredients. Everyone has raised their prices. Just look at almost every other restaurant. And as for the buffet, the restaurant would probably love to have it back if covid ever allows it again. It's a pretty lame move to write a bad review on a place during covid, especially when the things you're complaining about are because of covid. Quality of food and service wasn't even mentioned. The other bad review says they didn't even bother to go because they don't like the restaurants responses. Well they're missing out because this place was excellent, and we received great service. Fair enough if you read reviews and don't want to go, but don't leave a bad review for a place you never tried. That's just stupid.Anyway, thanks for the great night, Monsun. It meant alot to us as we don't get all of us together that often anymore. Keep doing what you're doing!"

"Table for 3 for lunch I was meeting a couple of friends for lunch. As I approached, there was plenty of shared parking. ViceRoy was located in an open area with many other shops and restaurants. One friend and I entered together, were greeted and seated immediately with no reservation. We were waiting for the 3rd member of our party to join, but we got started on the buffet. As we were up and about, the server brought over our water glasses. It was lunch time, but the place was almost empty. Looking around the restaurant, I noticed it was spotless and designed with a minimalistic style. I surveyed the buffet and noticed many of the usual favorites; Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Biryani. Our other friend arrived shortly after and jumped right in line for the buffet. I went back for 2+ full entree plates and 1 dessert plate. We discussed the food and commented that it was OK. Nothing jumped out at me that was super tasty or made me do the happy food dance. Also, by the time I got the food back to the table, it was not super hot. I don’t know if it was because I was talking while eating, but it did not seem super hot. The team of servers were very attentive, but not very friendly. They efficiently and quickly came to clean up old buffet plates and bring out the Naan, but there were not a lot of smiles tossed around. Overall, a good experience with GOOD, not Great Indian cuisine with a super clean dinner room and nice ambiance."
