"The staff was friendly, but the food was quite average. My husband ordered a medium-rare steak, but it arrived well-done. After sending it back, it came back medium instead. Unfortunately, neither preparation was correct. Additionally, his baked potato was tough, despite being the restaurant's special that day. While the staff apologized, we didn't receive any compensation. Overall, it felt like they were disorganized, and the high prices didn't match the quality of the food. We won't be returning."

"Came here when Penn State kids were on break so we were seated immediately with him no wait . We arrived 40 minutes before closing and they were putting up chairs and sweeping the floors. My burger was cooked to my liking and hush puppies were a nice treat. My vanilla Coke was about as authentic as they come. Our server was snappy and attentive. The eat and get out warnings placed on the menu and in the building make for an unfriendly environment, and the place looked a little dirty and areas needed some cosmetic repairs. With the variety of restaurants in State College, I probably won 't be back anytime soon, but I would recommend it to my friends."

"Monday evening 6:30 pm and my wife and I walked over from nearby Hampton Inn with reservation. Seated immediately by Captain Mas himself. (A server had not shown up so he was filling in. Good menu options. Crab cakes are very good and the lobster in my Surf and Surf was delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes had too much garlic for my taste. The clam chowder was tasty but not much clam. Red sangria a disappointment tasting more like watered down wine with little fruit. Decadence chocolate dessert a winner."

"Excellent food and service. Jose was so welcoming and helpful. Wanted schnitzels so we decided to try this biergarten. Bier Bacon was so good. The slaw was delicious and enhanced the bacon... I don't usually like slaw but I would definitely love to have more of their slaw. Jaeger Schnitzel was perfect, it was crispy even after the mushroom demi glaze was spread on top. Spaetzle was really good, most times it's just a mushy mass but these were individual pieces Dee’s Kassler Ripchen Smoked Pork Chop with potato Pancake and red cabbage. The pork chop was really good. The red cabbage was delicious loved it! Hubby loved the potato pancakes but I thought they were more like Hash brown then the usual potato pancake... Will have to go back to try other items! I'm just sad the one closer to us near the Meadowlands does not have a German menu..."

"When we entered J. Wilson's, we realized we had been there before when it was called Mariscos. It has the same owners and a similar menu, but the decor is updated and more open. I loved the shrimp grits, pork belly skewers, crabcakes and cheese platter. My cocktail was delicious and so was the wine. More outstanding than the food was the service which was impeccable, from the host to the wine steward to the server to the floor manager. Truly top notch."

"Went in with a coworker for lunch and we both ordered the burger with fries. There was one other person in the entire place which should have been a red flag. My meal was good, burger was alright and the fries were fantastic It's hard to find fries that good. However my coworker specifically ordered no aioli/mayo, but when our food arrived theirs still it all over the bottom bun. They asked to have it removed, and 5 minutes later was returned the same burger with aioli/mayo still on the vegetables and burger patty like the cook had tried to wiped off with a paper towel. They then went to the manager who had it made from scratch like a proper recook. They did completely comp my coworkers meal after the manager had it replaced properly. At one point I asked for more water and the waiter poured water into my coworker's sprite glass as well as my water and they give you a plastic bottle of soda with a class of ice, not an actual proper soda fountain. So they completely ruined a non refillable drink. At this point after all the problems we just decided to leave. I paid my bill and they were comped their meal. The food was alright alright burger though the fries were fantastic but the lack of attention to detail and the attempt to lazily wipe off a sauce that an item was ordered without is just negligent."

"We sat down excited to try this place because we absolutely love steak frites. We were celebrating the end of a huge year and wanted something special to ring in the new year. Ambience was nice, service was friendly. That’s about where the good ends. I requested a list of whiskeys and was told to go to the bar myself and see what was there. I ordered a double whiskey neat, which came in a glencairn glass and took 15 minutes to be delivered to me. I drink from glencairns exclusively and know that this was not a double, yet I was still charged $30 for less than 2oz of mid-shelf whiskey. It felt like a rip-off but due to the special occasion I wasn’t going to make a fuss over it. When our steaks arrived, my wife’s plate was beautiful and nicely cooked. I looked down at mine ordered medium rare , and I had gray tiny pieces of steak that amounted to about half of what was on my wife’s plate. It was absolutely inedible and tough. I have never sent food back anywhere, but I sent this back because it was so bad. I asked not to have it remade because it took so long to come out the first time. I ate my fries so I could eat something. At the end of the meal I was told they only took a portion off the bill because I ate the fries. ??? I’ve never been nickel and dimed by a restaurant before. These fries were also supposed to be bottomless and were never replaced. We also ordered a $12 side of broccoli which was like 10 little pieces of broccoli. This place was the absolute worst value I’ve ever gotten from a restaurant before. Service was slow, food severely overpriced and steak indelible. Will never return here."

I came with a group of five and we all agreed it was probably the worst restaurant any of us have been to in the past year They charged $27 for shrimp alfredowhich had 4 pieces of frozen shrimp and watery sauce. $22 for a fish platter that had 2 bite size pieces of pre frozen fish andcold fries. And the worst calamari I've ever had. Even more expensive than the New York City prices I'm used to. Do yourself afavor and go anywhere other than here. Price horrible, food even worse Only giving it a second star because the staff werequite nice. Drink prices are cheap"

"When we went, it was a Saturday and there was also a wedding going on. I would not recommend going on a Saturday because our food was rushed and they were a little short staffed due to the wedding. The taste of the food was very good. I gave 3 stars for the food because the burger we ordered medium well and it came out rare. We are not usually people to send food back, and the kitchen was so backed up any way it would have take forever to get another one. It still tasted fine. I think it would have been 5 stars across the board if the wedding was not going on. I would definitely give it another try."

"For our anniversary, my husband called ahead to check if they would have crab legs, and one of the owners confirmed that they would. The chef, who I think is the other owner as well as the bartender, stopped by our table to ensure that our drinks and crab legs were satisfactory. They certainly were! The sides were delicious as well. Our server was very attentive too. Thank you all for making our 9th wedding anniversary so memorable. We will definitely be back!"

"Usually never come here and now I remember why, the food is mediocre and the service is terrible. When I went for dinner, there were two waiters and two bussers all about college level. We waited 10 minutes to get seated then after every single person kept leaving, there was about seven tables that they just left dirty, they didn’t clean any of them. They ran out of turkey at 6 PM at night. Our waitress decided to up and go on break. We didn’t get any silverware and one of the guys were saying they ran out of knives and had to clean them then when they did clean them, they left sharp knives in front of my two-year-old. "Having grown up in Memphis, I was eager to try City Pork after hearing about it. Since I'm accustomed to Memphis-style BBQ, I didn’t know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised! The menu was the most diverse I've ever seen at a BBQ restaurant, and every dish seemed like it would pair just as well with wine as with beer. The place was bustling, and we struggled to find parking, but we were seated right away. The service was outstanding, although I can't remember the server's name. "My husband and I were looking for someone nearby to eat after I had gotten my hair done, and this restaurant was in the plaza next door to my salon. When I say that the seafood gumbo is the best my husband and I have ever eaten. The spices used were perfectly blended. The gumbo included crawfish tails and shrimp. I've never had seafood gumbo where the shrimp was so flavorful. My husband ordered the catfish platter and I ordered the shrimp platter. We both had waffle fries and side salad with our platters. My husband says the catfish was good and so was my shrimp. I'll most definitely be stopping back in to take some seafood gumbo home with me. It was absolutely delicious!"

"This is our third season in Trenton. The first two seasons we really enjoyed the becon. This season not so much, our first 2 take out orders were not very good. Ordered fried cheese curds and the were overcooked. Too long in the fryer and all the cheese melted out leaving us with just the coating. You could visually see there was no cheese inside and they were dark brown. Should have never left the kitchen. Burger was well done not medium as requested. Yesterday was the last straw, order screwed up again. This place has turned into just another tourist trap. Save your money and go elsewhere."

"Great atmosphere, incredible service, excellent menu variety, and great food. The prices were reasonable for a single or couples. However, the cost for a family might push the limit for most families for breakfast. The only other note I would make is, that like many smaller restaurants, the background music was a little loud for my taste. I believe background music should be just that, background. Just loud enough to smooth the noise level of the servers and hum of conversation from other tables. Not so loud that you actually notice it to the point that it becomes distracting. Overall, an excellent dinning experience. The key things that matter to me, atmosphere, service, likeability of the servers, presentation of the food, quantity of the food, temperature of the food when served, and of course most of all, the taste of the food, were all five star."
