"Please see below. My husband wrote an email to management on Feb. 28th, the day after we dined at Edison regarding our experience. Have not received an email back. Not looking for a hand out, but acknowledgement of how terrible the service was. So unfortunate to have experienced this on a special occasion. “Good afternoon, I want to preface this message with how every time I have come here, it has been an amazing experience, this time however was not even close. Last night my parents took me out to dinner for my birthday. I chose Edison Patton as it had been a while since I had been and the new menu looked great. Every time I had come in, I had thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service, so was expecting a great evening. To start, the AC was either off or not working which left the inside extremely muggy. They had fans on, but that just seemed more a nucance than anything. We immediately ordered cocktails which took quite a while to come out. Then on to appetizers. We ordered one of the flatbreads and Brussels. After 15 min we were told they could not make pizzas today. Ok, not a big deal, we changed the order for fries. All the while still waiting on drinks, they finally arrive. 30 min into awaiting our appetizers, they come out. Great, we are all starving. Only issue is, they are completely cold. We say something and there is no reaction from the staff. No let me get them heated or offering to replace. We let it slide but reiterated that we do not want cold entree’s. After an hour of waiting for our meal, the two short ribs ordered were cold. Two of our burgers, ordered medium, came out way over done. And again throughout the evening, extremely slow timeline for drinks. 5 min is understandable, but 15-20 is ridiculous. Had to ask multiple times for water refills and that took forever as well."

"I was travelling to Downtown LA midFebruary. We were looking for a restaurant for an early dinner seating for before we went to the Philharmonic. It was Valentine's Day, so it was difficult to get a reservation. I was fortunate to make a reservation at The day before the reservation, I received a call from the restaurant, but they didn't leave a voicemail. I decided to call the restaurant to confirm. They then informed me that it was going to be a Prix Fixe fourcourse menu, and that they weren't serving the a la carte menu at all that evening. I asked whether they had vegetarian options, because one in our party is a vegetarian. She had no idea. She then said that I would need to call back to give a credit card to hold the reservation. For some reason, she could not take the credit card at that moment, nor did OpenTable ask for a credit card hold, as they sometimes do. Frustrated, I checked their website as well as OpenTable, and there was nothing about the PrixFixe menu or the credit card hold. According to OpenTable, all was OK.The day of the reservation, less than one hour before, I decided to confirm my reservation details with OpenTable again, only to find out that the restaurant cancelled our reservation. Frustrated, I called the restaurant and asked them why. Again, she had no idea. Fortunately, they would still be able to seat us at our previously confirmed time slot. The restaurant was half empty, throughout our meal. The front staff were constantly on their 'phones, apathetic to customers and their needs. For a good restaurant, it's no wonder why they were half empty. The front was killing them. While the restaurant and the food were nice, the front staff should be fired. Quickly. Otherwise, may suffer dearly at the hands of an incompetent front"

"Decent local spot to stop in to for the specialty cocktails but would not have high expectations or go out of my way to visit.Lilly's itself looks like a nicer dive bar rather than what I picture for cocktail and wine. The bathroom is not really nice but not disgusting either. The seating is not particularly comfortable. The food was mediocre even for bar food. I am big on brussel sprouts and, while enjoyable, the ones here had no texture and the honey taste was a bit overpowering and raw. The tacos were very mediocre in both quality of ingredients and proportion. We also ordered the drunken mussels which were tasty and came with nice toasted bread for dipping. My only complaint about those was that the dish had large pieces of onion and lemon slices, along with seeds, that made it hard to eat. This place is redeemed by its specialty cocktails of which the ones I sampled were actually creative and delicious. The burning passion was most impressive as the dramatic presentation with the burnt orange actually translated very well to the smoked citrus flavor profile. The sacrifice and smooth talker were also both well balanced. I did order one whisky sour which came without the foam that I did see on other drinks. When I pointed this out the waiter instantly remade it to my preference without much friction which, to me, is the most important sign of good service.Despite the 3 star rating, I can see coming back to Lilly's for a specialty cocktail but will likely eat before or after. Would probably give a 3.5 if I could."
