"we sat outside where there was no ac. our friends asked for this very insult. they arrived before us and chose this because the noise level around 18 o'clock was so overwhelmingly loud. they chose “HOT, with the ability to hear about cool, with the necessity to shout each other”. our waiter let us know that he was actually a chef and continued to know us with his knowledge about the kitchen and menu items too regale that we did not ask or interested. when he came with our drinks, he knocked the beer we had ordered from the tablet, but not before it was spilled into two of our drinks. He put them on the table so we can drink anyway. we ordered appetizer guacamole that in a small bowl. not enough for 4 people. and not easily accessible to reach with chips for 4 people, so we ordered another portion. we asked for small tellers so that we can scoop what we wanted, individually instead of reaching beyond the others on the table. when he brought the teller. they were wet and hot! hot! teller. for cold guacamole! the waiter told us they were “fresh from the dishwasher”! when our food finally arrived, more than 30 minutes after the order, and we asked the waiter what took so long, he slept his hand around and said: "Here, we are busy"! our food when it arrived was hardly warm. the ahi tuna appetizer, who should be cold, was sickly warm and had hard dings in him, impossible to chew. it had to be spit out. after many previous enjoyable meals at joses, even sitting outside, it became too loud to do anything, except reading lips and screaming about the noise. the service was haphazard, full of employment and totally chaotic. eating for each one of us was moderately too poor to unusable. this will go in the history of the restaurant as one of the worst ever “Ding” from experiences of our life. never again. Never."

"Came here for a celebratory dinner. Made our reservation via the website; called to fix the amount of people from 5 to six with no issues. The manager answered the phone and was very nice. We came here via recommendation from an employee. She was not wrong, the prices are very high, but the quality of the food matched so we can’t complain. Special occasions call for opening your wallet with closed eyes! We would vote this the second best pasta in town; sauces and meats were divinely tasty/well done. Try the quail, it was incredible. Plating however was a bit silly for fine dining. As someone who has gone to fine restaurants around the globe, I find putting an orchid on my plate of pasta cliché and offensive (orchid production is highly problematic, feel free to research if you are unaware). Honestly unless the garnish works with the dish/tastes good with my food, it’s a waste of money. To top our pasta, why not use fancy parsley or oregano flowers or nasturtium? These are all edible and wouldn’t go to waste. We all agreed the orchids made us sad; they’re not even edible! I grow my herbs and love using their flowers as garnish/decoration of my dishes. Hope the chef sees and considers my hot tip! Orchids are so expensive; to be wasted like this. Their desserts were excellent, especially the pannacotta and the grand marnier cake (incredibly floral, to die for creamy highly recommend). The waiter talked up the tiramisu so much, it was corny. As a family that has visited Italy many times we found his fake accent and counting incorrectly in Italian endearing, but a bit over the top. Also highly doubt a true Italian would ever claim the Grotta tiramisu is better than an Italian one. Will definitely come back, but unfortunately have to agree with some of the other reviews in regards to sexism. Our waiter was a bit focused on my oldest daughter, kept reaching over her to serve wine and water, calling her pet names, which made her uncomfortable. Maybe just walk around the table to serve instead of reaching over guests. Also, when we received our bill, they charged us for a $65 bottle of wine rather than the $30 one we ordered. They fixed it once we pointed it out, but it was still a bit awkward. Make sure you check your bill before you pay! PS: My daughter would love to help you with your social media presence. Your instagram is very bland and does not represent your business accurately. This could help elevate your business; highly recommend hiring someone better to work on your website/marketing."

"Atmosphere: First off, let me say that I drove over an hour to show my date where, in my opinion, was the best little Italian restaurant and desserts. I used to live right by Papa Joes but had since moved and there was no doubt in my mind that it was going to be worth the trip. This was the first time I did not feel comfortable or welcome. It had a large part to do with the waitress. First, we are sat at a 2 person booth next to a table of 12 or more with very loud children and there's that 12 top and then right next to me in hands reach is what I guess is a hostess little counter thing. While there were booths in the other room empty and WE HAD A RESERVATION. The waitress was just absolutely unpleasant and looked inconvenienced by any question or comment. My date even asked if she was a homophobe that's how rudely and passive aggressive she was treating us. I told her I was embarrassed and that she probably was just overwhelmed by the large group. I always tip 20% no matter what because I know servers don't make enough and it could have just been a bad day but it absolutely killed me to to tip her $20 on a $100 check. Food: let me say that I get the SAME thing every single time I go, I get the same thing. The chicken francaise. I was reading the menu and was surprised to see that they now serve it over noodles. I asked the waitress to clarify how it's made now and told her that just a year, maybe a year and a half ago I had just had it and it was made differently. Instead of just asking me how I would like it made, she for whatever reason argued with me saying that they have been making it that way for 5 years or more. Like I felt like I had to show her my last yelp review. I shouldn't have to prove anything, she should just accommodate the way I would like it made and move on. Doesn't matter anyways because they brought it out the way they make it now over noodles despite my request. My date enjoyed her spinach cannelloni, that was literally the only saving grace of this visit. Well also the 3 desserts I got to go. I was so upset the whole ride home because I was hyping this place up so high and it was just... bad. My date felt like she was treated badly, but maybe she was just have a bad day. I just didn't want her to feel that way with how high I set her expectations. What a shame."

"My res was for 2 people at ~9:30pm on Opentable for Standard Seating and I noted that the special occasion was an “Anniversary”. After waiting for the hostess for 5 minutes and then another 5 mins, she then proceeded to sit us at a booth (meant for 4-6 people) and a few mins later said that we will be moved to a table for 2 soon when it’s available. Weird. We sat there awkwardly waiting and a few mins later we moved to the smaller table and ordered drinks. I kindly asked to remove the plates from our small table since we wanted more space for our drinks. The drinks came and not even 10 mins into enjoying them the hostess came back up to us and said something like “sorry but you need to leave the table if you’re not gonna order food because it’s for dinner only”…. NOBODY said anything about that when we ordered and nowhere on Opentable did it say 'dinner only ' or 'minimum spend ' or anything of the sort. They could 've kindly told us to order food and we 'd have ordered some appetizers. FYI there were 2 other tables available. We said we could move to the bar if there 's space so the hostess went to 'check '. 1 minute later the waitress (not hostess) casually drops off the check, not saying a word, which was extremely rude. At this point we were confused and angry. After flagging down the hostess again I told her that I want to finish my drink and asked why I just got the check. She said she can’t find space for us at the bar but we still have to leave. I have never been treated so poorly at a bar restaurant even though I’m from NY and have been to many bars and restaurants throughout the years. Absolutely no way to treat customers who were excited to be there, enjoy cocktails, and celebrating a special occasion. The drinks are quite pricey too- what a waste of money and time. I am still upset that our anniversary night was ruined like this and will I will never go back to Macao. Fix your customer service in the future or update your Opentable seating arrangements."

"New to the area and dealing with a nasty cold, I sought the area 's best wings and the Colonial was amongst the highest regarded. While generally very much against a first dining experience being take out, the circumstances and my own desire to reduce my germ spreading warranted it. My lovely assistant in life brought home the goods (thanks dear) and we got to digging in: here 's the rub (or the sauce, in this case anyway): Pros: Some of the cleanest and nicest takeout packing I 've seen (see pics). Especially for a food as messy as wings, I was pleased to not have greasy styrofoam lock-lid containers. The Colonial logo stickers sealing the take-out boxes was a nice touch. Nicely sized wings with a variety of flats and drums. Meaty and satisfying- not the best I 've seen, but pretty decent. Two great sauces out of three. The classic medium was tangy and spicy, and the house sauce had a sweet vinegary taste that was interesting and kept you coming back (my favorite). The bang-bang was a pass for me, especially the confusing addition of sesame seeds on chicken wings. Cons: The wings were decent sized but could have been bigger- if we are looking for max value. Most places I 've lived, the top wing spots set themselves apart by being selective on their chicken, and clientele will pay for the difference. While these were not scrawny, I would have felt more consecrated in the best wings in Bing claim if they were large and meaty across the board. Amongst the stellar packaging, I really have no idea why sides of blue cheese were placed face down inside a cardboard container alongside dripping, freshly sauced wings. Fishing around in wing sauce to get your dressing isn 't my idea of a good time, and I also don 't really care for Blue cheese heated incidentally by close proximity to freshly fried wings. These could have been packed separately in our bag and I can 't find any good reason for the obviously intentional placement of the dressing in with our food. Consensus: Not sure this place is dethroning any other large city 's top wing spots, but they 're a strong first visit for this favorite of mine in Binghamton and I 'll be back to try other menu entries."
