"We made reservations for an anniversary dinner. Ruth's Chris doesn't disappoint. Food was great, service was awesome and the ambiance was nice. This was a first visit to this location on LaCantera Parkway. Downside was my vehicle being broke into and ruining the rest of our evening plans. Signs said surveyed by camera - no necessarily true. The buildings are surveyed. Of course, not really the fault of Ruth's Chris but waiting an hour to report it since we live just outside SA was definitely a downer. Next time - UBER for sure."

"Bad service, it was booked in advance for a birthday, it was not received like other restaurants, it was never mentioned that it was a special occasion (birthday), not even in the dessert, and the piece of meat like it was in Water thawed, tasteless, uncooked and hard, I don't think we will be back, this is the third time we go and it was very bad, I don't recommend it"

"The Valentine's Day menu was a total letdown. The dessert consisted of just three cheesecake bites, and the potatoes were too dry to enjoy. The appetizer and meat were decent, but overall, we were underwhelmed. It took us 45 minutes to receive our main courses, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. For $85 for two people, we were really disappointed."

"We initially planned to visit First Watch on I-10 and Wurzbach, but the wait was too long. So, we decided to check out Embers Wood Fire Grill Bar instead. I must admit, I was a bit hesitant, but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. Among the five of us, we ordered the ribs, salmon, a pizza, and a turkey burger. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the ribs were excellent, the pizza was fabulous, and the turkey burger was outstanding. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. I actually live in the neighborhood and had never tried this place before, but I will definitely be returning. Great job, and keep up the excellent work!"

"The manager and a host were present when I entered and they did not greet me. I actually think they glared at me, after a few awkward moments I explained that I made a reservation for 10 via opentable, they had no idea what I was talking about. After checking the reservations they found my party and found room for us. I was waiting by the door and when i went to sit on the couches there were two big piles of spit on the floor. The restaurant was fairly empty, but it took forever to order our first round of food. We were sent a new waitress and she was much nicer and more helpful."

"Truly fine food served in a very professional manner at an historic setting. A walk through the grounds and seeing the historical pictures are a must. When we entered the Garden Patio there was a smoke from a decorative fire that was taken care of when we commented as we were seated. The food served was perfectly created and each of four different requests were thoroughly enjoyed."

"We all 3 had side salads and it took 45 min before we were served them and then our food came out right afterwards. The server did not check on us very much and I saw her standing by the bar chatting with coworkers several times for long periods. Was looking at her to try to get her attention so I could ask for an update on our sales but she never caught the hint to come over to our table. The food was was overpriced so I had high expectations for it to be amazing and it was very dry and bland. Very disappointed and unimpressed. Will not be back."

"Overall had I had a good time at the place. Only drawback was the wait staff was not very attentive to their guests. I really did not know who our waiter or waitress was. I noticed that some tables had the same thing. One table was trying to pay and finally went to the bar area where the wait staff was hanging around to pay for their meal. I myself finally grabbed someone to pay for my meal. More supervision is probably needed."

"We had a reservation and also had noted it was our anniversary. The host barely acknowledged our presence let alone the reservation or occasion. He sat us without talking or making eye contact. Our waitress wasn't interested either. She didn't explain the specials and then our app and entree came one right after the other. We barely had a time to enjoy a sip of our cocktails. A runner delivered them and we didn't see her again until it was time for the bill. When she then asked us what we had so she could tally the bill. The whole process was maximum 50 minutes. I'm not sure anyone even noticed that we left. It was odd and a disappointment."

"We had a reservation and were seated right away. We ordered drinks and appetizers, which were served quickly and were outstanding. Entrees came just as we were finishing salads and appetizers, so timing was good. We let our waiter know that we were thinking about a cheese cake dessert and she made sure to put one aside for us right away since they were running low. The salmon entree was outstanding, but the chicken parmigiana was awful. The pasta was overcooked and mushy and not drained well, which made the red sauce really thin. The chicken was not crispy. It seemed like it was finished in a microwave oven. We have been to that location several times and never had anything as bad as that before, so definitely not ordering it again."

"It 's not technically a secret menu item, but you need to let them know ahead of time (by at least a few days) if you want to order the Beef Wellington. You might assume that this means it is of a quality that is uniquely exquisite, and I can assure you that this assumption is 100% correct. This dish is literally made in part by a pastry-chef, and the moment you take a bite of the absurdly-delicate shell of I-don 't-even-know-what, you 'll understand why you have to arrange for this sort of treatment: it 's like an opera in your mouth. Underneath that mantle of what I assume is an elevated form of dough reserved for the better seats in heaven, there is a mushroom duxelle that I 'm quite certain would qualify for the dictionary entry if you were to look up the word unctious. Then, the filet. Is there an adequate word in the English language for a perfect medium-rare steak? The best part is that you actually have to be reminded that you 're eating an exquisite piece of beef underneath all of these charms, and it 's only responsible to forewarn you that dipping it in the au jus with which it 's served might just awaken you to a level of luxury you will struggle to equal in other establishments. I won 't even mention how good the wagyu-truffle ravioli was, or how their wedge-salad is served with fully a 3 oz triangle of delicately veined roquefort (bleu cheese) and bacon-bits made of *actual, perfectly cured smoky bits of bacon*. Point being: if you eat meat, this is something you should put on your bucket list. You 're not going to find a better meal anytime soon, after all. 10/10, would recommend."

"Two of us at the table had the bone in ribeye and both were overcooked. On was ordered Pittsburgh medium rare and one was ordered just medium rare. Both were medium at best. They tasted fine but a steak too well done is just not a pleasant experience. Interestingly enough, the woman next to our table had to send her steak back because it was too rare.
