"We headed to NYAJs in Waltham the first day of lifted pandemic restrictions. What a great return to a normal dining experience! No masks, no distancing although you could still tell patrons and team members were still 'respectfully aware'.A perfect Saturday night, in a busy vibrant restaurant, sitting at the bar with wonderful bartender Bella, and enjoying a specialty Maple Old Fashioned and a Stella! After Joe's trademark yummy bread, my wife loved the Crispy Southwest Chicken, while I enjoyed a perfectly cooked Chicken Piccata with a glass of Chardonnay. Goodbye masks, goodbye plastic dividers, hello to normal dining again at NYAJs"

He didn't know many details about the menu when asked for details. One of the starters was served without any of the 3 ingredients (olives with canned citrus and fried parsley - served without the fried parsley - not the waiter's fault). The waiter presented the special as an appetizer, but it was actually an appetizer. My main course (or should I say "starter") was served about 5 minutes after the rest of my table had already served their main courses. I was able to order another main course when it was clear that I had ordered an appetizer, but by then the rest of the table was done with the main course. The rest of the people at my table enjoyed the food and the beers were delicious, but overall my experience was not great."

"We have dined here 2 or 3 times a year for over 10 years. In the last few years the standard seems to have slopped and the menu is not what it used to be. The location and the ambiance is amazing. The actual food and value for money is not so good. Biggest disappointment tonight was my linguini with clams. Maybe 8 clams in their shells with pasta in melted butter for $33. When I did not eat the pasta and refused a take home box the server did not even ask if it was okay. Totally unimpressed."

"My wife and I were there on Friday and the food was excellent. My wife has to order gluten-free, which is often quite difficult as most restaurants do not have enough choices for them. There were many possibilities and she chose the Chicken Piccata she loved. I had a Caesar Salat and Clam Chowder that were both excellent, especially the Chowder. Often we find that servers are either too attentive to the point are disturbing or not at all attentive, but not on our server, Michelle O. "It was crowded, but definitely worth the wait! I ordered the rosemary scallops served with couscous, and while the scallops were slightly overcooked, the dish was still quite tasty. I also tried a pineapple painkiller—what a treat! I enjoyed it so much that I ended up ordering a second one. My daughter, who is 9, had the kids’ cheeseburger with fresh fruit, and she loved it without any complaints. My husband chose the steak tips, and he was equally satisfied. For appetizers, we had the chicken dumplings, which were absolutely delicious, and the chicken quesadilla with pineapple salsa, which was also fantastic. Overall, I was really impressed with everything. I had no idea that Not Your Average Joe's was so popular, but now I understand why. We will definitely be coming back!"

"The food was amazing and the drinks were strong. I had a delicious Lavender Lemontini that was amazing. My food was also very good. I got the Belgium Waffles and it was so good. I didn’t really care for the egg because personally I like scrambled not sunny side up but I didn’t realize it came it. Otherwise amazing. The place was packed so I do recommend a reservation. Also it was super cold but that might be because we were under a fan. It is kind of loud but we didn’t mind that."

"My wife and I both ordered scallops, but after waiting 40 minutes with no sign of our meal, I went inside to check with the server. She informed me that our food would be out shortly. After another 10 minutes with still no food, we decided to leave and went to CAP CITY restaurant nearby instead. My wife called the restaurant afterward to speak to the manager, who acknowledged what had happened and offered a gift card for a future visit. However, we declined the offer and won’t be returning. "The rating comes more so from the excellent wait staff over the food. As it's a chain it's as expected quality wise, however every part of the staff we interacted with was courteous and prompt. "Dope vibes, nice atmosphere mixed with an amazing waitress(mad I forgot her name) and the BEST BARTENDER IN DC (CEASAR) you can't go wrong. The food was amazing and I feel like we tried everything on the menu!!! My favorite was the crab cake OMG HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH!!!! Our waitress was super attentive and made sure we had everything that we needed mixed with her super sweet personality we were very thankful to have her. Make sure to pull up on CEASAR for the best drinks in town with great conversation, he kept our drinks flowing and gave some good tips on things to do while in town .Next time I'm in DC I'll be pulling back up at THE DELEGATE ?"
