"Decided to try a new place this evening, huge mistake! We will never return! Other than our server being very friendly and attentive (even though we never got straws for our drinks, maybe they were out). The food was beyond the worst food I have evergotten at any restaurant, especially one who?s name fools you into thinking they have good steaks/fish/burgers. We ordered onesteak and baked potato, one steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and one burger and fries. The steaks were beaten so bad onlyto make them look larger, they were very, very dry and too difficult to cut/chew. If you enjoy leather, you may enjoy thesteaks! My husbands steak was half fat and he left still hungry after paying so much for the food! Spending that much money onfood that my dogs wouldn?t even eat is ridiculous. I could?ve gotten the same food at any other restaurant and it would?ve beencheaper and much better tasting! How this restaurant has any decent reviews baffles me!"

"I went to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday dinner. She ordered the catfish, which looked and smelled amazing. My daughter, her husband, and I opted for the all-you-can-eat perch, while my wife had chicken fingers. Everything was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. If you haven't been here yet, it's definitely worth a visit!"

"This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and I ordered a grilled chicken salad. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry and just laid on top of the salad, which had very little lettuce and no cheese at all. The chicken seemed either overcooked or old. I was really disappointed with my meal, and I ended up having to chop the chicken into smaller pieces along with the lettuce when I got home. It felt like I was served the leftovers."

"Our first time to eat there. Overall a good experience but for 2 things. We had an 8:45 reservation after noting on the website that the kitchen closed at 9:30. The mgr ? called my cell at 845 as we were walking up to ask if we were coming and that they closed at 9! I found that rude confusing and a bit of a poor start. Also we ordered a bottle of wine that came to the table already opened with the cork sticking out of the top. Certainly makes one suspicious that the wine ordered was replaced with a cheaper variety. Any wine consumer knows that is never proper wine etiquette. Generally being a non-complainer, I did not say anything about it although our out of state friend noticed it and commented about it to the table. All in all the food was good and our waiter was very friendly articulate and knowledgeable about the menu. I will return if given the opportunity but will have my eye on the wine!"

"Captain Steve’s is the place for us, The entryway was clean and so was the restaurant, This is our fifth visit, and we are still pleasantly pleased by the appearance and atmosphere I was in the mood for some fried jumbo shrimp with salt pepper seasoned fried fish yesterday, and Captain Steve’s delivered as always. We were greeted by a manager to be seated, Lauren was our server, She kept a smile on her face, and she was on point very patient she never gave us a chance to ask for anything #lovethat) our cups didn’t have a chance to get empty lol. "A few years ago, the food at this restaurant was great. However, when I visited recently, the fish I ordered was greasy, the baked beans were too sweet, the bread was stale, and the corn had a bad smell. It seems like they are using old oil, which was disappointing. I used to love eating here, but I'm not sure if they have a new cook or what's going on. I also tried the banana pudding, which was just okay and not the best I've had. Overall, the experience was not as good as it used to be. Hopefully they can clean out the oil and improve the quality of their dishes."

"The only thing good about this place is the waitresses. You can tell the food is mostly frozen and just deep fried to heat and crisp it up. Actually have a friend that knows someone who works there and the guy that works there told him. EVERYTHING is frozen except for the chicken and fish which is just dropped in plain flower and fried so nothing special. Oh and they are out of half the menu most of the time, unfortunately my wife likes peach cobbler and is to lazy to make it so I'm sure we will continue coming."

"I like the old menu better I wanted hash browns with onions grits was the only option. Plating was nice corn not seasoned mash potatoes cold chicken asked for well done chicken it wasn't. Server was nice cook was willing to fix breakfast even though it was after 12 noon. Remodeling looks good as well. Have always like Betty's but they I wasn't satisfied this time around. Get back that good old fried chicken please"

"This is a hit and miss kind of place. I would say hit or miss except it 's likely that you 'll have a combination of pleasantly surprised satisfaction as well as mild disappointment. I had the frog legs, which I though were really good. I also ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizers, which were also pretty darn tasty. But the collared greens were not that great until I dug deeper into the pile. The inner greens were tasty while the outer ones were dry and so-so at best. My coworker didn 't have as good of luck. He ate most of the food because he was hungry, but he said he didn 't like it. He ordered a combination of different seafoods off the senior menu. I would probably go back to try the gator if I was still in town. But honestly, I 'd rather find a place that wasn 't so hit or miss on whether what you order will be good or not."
