"I was excited to see what the whole bozz was about Shin-Sen-Gumi, and ate my first meal there on Sunday night and made me feel quite disappointed. The rams and other dishes, although not bad, were also not spectacular. The ramen soup base is lighter/less tasteful/almost bland (not like Santouka's rich, pork fat, tasteful base soup), and the rug itself is the thin noodle (like some) and together the rugs was simply Jane for me. I also ordered a fried egg topping, and it came half raw. Fortunately, waiting was minimal at 6pm (although it picked up over the next half hour) and street parking lots were plentiful and the service was brusque still professional. We went mainly because it is a casual setting of child-friendly loud atmosphere, as the waiters/kitchen welcome you loudly in Japanese while you travel in and out. Overall, I was not impressed by Shin-sen-gumi in W.LA and will probably not make another visit at this point, unless entertaining guests interested in trying their knight. Sad. Oh, good."
