"We had an excellent dinner here. I am not a sushi fan (I don’t like seaweed or cold rice) but my husband is, so we had put off going here for a while. I wish we had eaten here sooner! The Rumi Roll that my husband ordered was the best sushi I’ve ever tried. Because it was so freshly made and not out of the refrigerator, the rice was more lukewarm than cold which helped my sensory issues with cold rice. The waitress told me next time we could request to have it made with soy paper instead of seaweed for me. The gyoza appetizer was amazing and the tempura and chicken yakisoba were good too. The waitress was great. Cocktails were tasty also!"

"This is the real deal the only top notch sushi in the Palm Springs area. I stumbled in by happenstance on a Wednesday night without a reservation and since I was dining alone I snagged the only individual seat at the bar. It's popular with locals and the way I noticed it was driving by at 5:00 there was a line of older people waiting to get in right when they opened the doors. Good sign. Service was a bit dictatorial probably because it was so busy and they had to keep things moving but the host (maybe wife and owner) was nice even though she was firm. She just had a ton of patrons to manage. I saw 5 10 parties get turned away since no resy for the short time I waited for my spot to clear. Sushi bar it took a while to eat since they were so busy. Chefs had their hands full. Also full menu is not available at the sushi bar. On to the sushi excellent fish. Right up there with best I've had at some of the high end sushi restaurants on either coast all in an unassuming old school atmosphere. Nothing fancy but yellowtail, tuna, aji, ikura, uni, mackerel, sweet shrimp were all wonderful. The uni was very special. I also loved my negihama roll. Oh expect to pay handsomely for what you get. Take out pork tonkatsu was good also especially after crisping it up in a toaster oven. Had a delicious hot mustard along with the sweet sauce. Don't go here if you're looking for a Philly cheese roll. There's another restaurant somewhere else for that kind of sushi. Go here for great nigiri and the old standbys."

"Low key, I think I just found my new spot. Ordered the gyoza, the Shrimp Crunch Roll, the Bento Box A with Spicy Teriyaki Chicken, and a Sapporo to wash it down... Perfect split with my girlfriend, with no leftovers but very full bellies! The food was absolutely delicious, and the ingredients seemed very fresh, and it all came out super fast. The staff was very friendly, and, even at 7 or so on a Saturday night, the place wasn't overly crowded (though it did look like a rush had just ended), with good tunes playing as well! I can't wait to work my way through this menu!!"

"Overall food is pretty decent The location is right off the freeway so easy to get to during the day since it is inside a business complex. Parking can be a challenge, especially if you have any walking restrictions. The restaurant is moderately clean and atmosphere is beautiful with all of the glass surroundings however, service is very lackluster. We had to wait a few times for someone to bring us water and utensils and no one ever checked on us during the entire duration of our stay, we had to ask the hostess a few times to bring someone to the table for the check and The aforementioned water and utensils. Also for one beer and three main courses with an appetizer it came out to about 130 bucks before tax and tip. So definitely not something that's casually priced but in Marin County don't expect to be cheap."

"I had an amazing experience during happy hour thanks to their fantastic food specials! Even though it was only my second visit, my favorite waitress treated me like a long-time regular. The quality of the sushi is excellent, and coming from someone who has loved sushi for years and even worked as a waitress at a Japanese restaurant downtown for two years, I can say I have high standards. Overall, I was really impressed! ^ ^"

"2022 Update: still love it. Really well designed, airy room, great food and presentation. My children were cheated, they had no more their old favorites, but still enjoyed the food. I loved the pig belly and tofu. Will be back to try other new items on the menu. So cozy and authentic. This was my second visit, and I was immediately transported back at that time I went to Tokyo and had sushi in a small place like Toraya. That taste! You know what I mean if you love real Japanese food. I didn't hear many Japanese talking around me in Boston. There were three separate parties from Japanese people who spoke in Japanese. The waitress spoke Japanese. The Sushi Cook - I'm pretty sure he's Japanese and went to this old fashion sushi school. I can't think of a sushi place in the bigger Boston area that is run by Japanese sushi master. I feel like it's a dying tradition in leasing in the USA and enjoy it while you can! (Vs. Uni, which is also great, but this is almost different kind of kitchen in my book). Note: There is always waiting so it is difficult if you have small children. There is no room to put the stroller in the room. It's worth it."

"I've been working in the neighborhood for few months now and just now discovering this gem. Initially wanted to grab some sushi for lunch and ended up here and had much better experience. Takuma is authentic Japanese restaurant with great service and unforgettable food. I was a little overwhelmed with the menu at first because I wasn't aware of any food but ended up having the best meal. We started with bottle of sake and beer. Sashimi was super fresh and delicious, and reasonably priced 20 for three fish sashimi three pieces each . Hand rolls are to die for, I recommend yellowtail. Miso eggplant is my favorite bite, so fresh abs crispy. Miso salmon were okay, nothing special but I went with a safe option, I would try markel next time. My friend got some kinda hot soup with tofu, noodle and wagyu beef which was very impressive!! Overall great place and I recommend it to everyone at work and to all my yelp friends"
