"This past Saturday, my wife and I wanted to have dinner before we heading to see the film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. So we opted to eat at Morton 's at Riverside in Hackensack. We called Morton 's on our way there to see if a reservation was needed for only the two of us, and after speaking with Don over the phone he explained to us that normally we would need a reservation but at the moment they didn 't have any available tables and if we wanted a table our wait time would be at least 3 hours, he also further explained that we can sit by the bar on a first come first serve basis, which we opted for the latter. Upon arrival we were greeted by Don, a presentable, nice young man. The place was packed and lively, we were in luck that no sooner we arrived and a couple of bar stools opened up. We sat down, we met two fine bartenders: Georgie Alex. Both were friendly, courteous and skilled at their craft. For drinks I got me a cocktail called Island Bessie , my wife doesn 't care for alcoholic beverages so she kept her glass of water. I asked Georgie for a couple of cherries for my drink and she obliged, they use real, dark cherries, not the fake maraschino 's in a jar. For appetizers we ordered: Grilled Oysters French Onion soup. My wife 's favorite appetizer dish is the French Onion soup and she said that this is the BEST she 's ever had, I had a taste and she was absolutely right. The Grilled Oysters were out of this world, bursting with an intense flavor. For entree I opted for the Miso Sea Bass with Bokchoy, she on the other hand wanted meat and got Grilled Prime Pork Chops. Our sides were Spinach with Mushrooms and Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes. We both thought that this is what eating dinner in heaven must be like. What an exquisite tender Sea Bass, the miso sauce gave it a flavorful touch. The Grilled Chops were so tender, juicy and delectable, the sides were superb! Morton 's is an expensive, classy restaurant, but oh its worth it! The service provided by Georgie and Alex was magnificent, they are both phenomenal people. My wife and I agreed that we must return again, well, as soon as I save some money for this luxury. *Edit* Visited Morton 's for Valentine 's 2022 and it was a magnificent experience yet again. This time we were seated by a friendly young man Marquis we were served by the exemplary and outstanding Justice and Frankie, they were on point and attentive. Kudos to Morton 's and its fantastic staff!"

"To start, the carne asada didn’t look appealing, and as soon as I took a bite, I noticed it had a strange, unpleasant taste and a strong odor. I couldn’t even finish it and ended up throwing everything away. The calamares were also undercooked. I spent over $50 on this meal, which felt like a complete waste of money. I called the restaurant to express my concerns, but the girl who answered offered no solutions. She simply said, "Oh, it’s probably just the marinade; they might have used something different today, that’s why it tastes different. Everything else looks fine, and you’re the only one who has complained today." I insisted that it wasn’t the marinade and that there was definitely something wrong with the meat, especially since I order from them at least four times a month without any issues before this. It felt like she was dismissing my concerns, making it seem like I was fabricating my complaint. I found it frustrating, especially since I was trying to remain polite throughout the conversation. Usually, a man answers the phone, so it was disappointing to witness the lack of customer service skills from her. In the end, she just said, "I’ll let the kitchen know that the marinade isn’t good," and hung up. I’m genuinely upset that I spent so much money on food that I couldn’t even eat. Update to this review: I reached out to Gustavo after his response to this situation…"

"This is far more like fine dining than Diner would suggest. This weekend we were here 3 times. Dinner Friday, Breakfast and Dinner Sunday. We were hosting out of town guests and brought 3 different groups to Chit Chat...foodies, children, fussy eaters and those with allergies and big appetites ALL VERY SATISFIED. The food is spectacular here. Fresh, delicious, generous portions. Whether you 're coming for breakfast (which I 've done multiple times), a working lunch or a relaxed dinner the Menu and Specials do it all. There 's not only something for everyone, it 's always consistent, delicious, hot and there will be leftovers. Our son loves the fig and gouda burger. I 've recently tried their chicken and waffles and their fried chicken is absolutely delicious (the individual bottle of syrup a sweet touch)... but so is their gyro platter, with THE BEST Greek fries EVER. They often have a roasted chicken that 's exceptional too. Their French onion, Chicken Noodles, Creamy Mushroom and Matzoh Ball soups are DELICIOUS. This weekend was the first time I gave their bar a try. My Mai Tai was perfect (and strong), my cousin 's jalapeño margaritas was sweet, spicy, salty and sour delicious. Saving the best for last. Service. These servers work their tails off. They 're attentive, fast, efficient, and terribly friendly. On Friday, we got there an hour before 2 others from our group. Our server paced accordingly. He never rushed us and he gushed with appreciation when our tip was tripled to accommodate for a table that could have turned over twice in the time that we were there. Bussing tables is an art, one part attentive to snag dishes as they empty without being too pesky. Their reach is always right, careful and comes with a thank you. I 've never had a bad server. I 've never had a mistake with an order. Sunday night we were a big group everyone got what they ordered, same time and fast. The hosts have a tough job since there 's usually a bit of a wait... they 're friendly and fast. And, the owner is hyper vigilant and exacting... making sure everything is right, perfect. And, that 's the recipe for a place where you keep wanting to return. It 's a bit busy, the decor... but eclectic and fun. Think, Alice in Wonderland fell into fine dining. The view. Hopefully you get a window seat on a clear day!! Yes, go try it! Vegetarian options: This is my go to with vegetarian friends. Vegans even. There 's always a couple options on Specials. And, the regular menu has plenty to choose from... you 're not just stuck looking at salad. Dietary restrictions: We had 2 guests one with allergies, one elderly with specific needs. They 're CAREFUL about allergies, checked each time the question was asked. My elderly Aunt raved about how perfectly they prepared to her specifications. Kid friendliness: Kids love this place, the vibrant colors, the activities left at the table, the view. The food options!!"
