"We have been coming to OBX for YEARS, and now live here never ate here until today. Why? The name...one of us eats sushi, the other does not so we never looked beyond the road sign where is says Sushi Bar . Very much our loss.Very nice on the side, and larger then I expected. The service was polite, friendly, prompt, and fast without being pushy. They have what i would call a a pretty typical asian cuisine type menu. Servings are HUGE, well prepared, HOT temperature wise, and very good.As to the sushi, I did get the Yellowtail Jalapeno sushi which was good but not great (that said I am an admitted sushi snob and really only like nigiri style which this was not).Would we eat here again 100% yes without question."

"One of the best experiences in three visits to OBX. We've gone to a dozen different restaurants and this was by far the best. From us coming to the business an hour early (they still came to check on us as we were walking away) to bring the pups water first thing, this was the start of something wonderful. We came back the next day with another couple and our two dogs. The service, food, and atmosphere were just exceptional. I cannot think of a single thing that wasn't just perfect that evening. I won't go into all the dishes, drinks, and deserts but there wasn't a single person at the table not saying, wow, oh my, yum, try this, etc. One of our friends who typically eats half a plate and rarely a full desert completely devoured his meal and a big slice of chocolate cake. We'll absolutely come back to this restaurant every time we visit. Thank you for an amazing evening!! "We absolutely loved our time at Art's Place, dining there twice during our four-day stay in Kitty Hawk. The first time, I had the crab cake sandwich, which was fantastic. For our last dinner, I built my own burger and had sweet potato fries—both were spot on! I do wish we had made it there for breakfast because I've heard amazing things about their pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. The best part of our visits was the warm and friendly staff. Despite the nationwide staffing challenges, the team at Art's went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent experience, being attentive and quick. Don’t let a wait time or short staffing deter you from visiting places like Art’s—you’d miss out on truly wonderful meals and service. Thanks for the delicious food and outstanding hospitality!"

"Let me start with that our waitress was excellent. We were seating promptly outside under the tent and there?s no control over the hoard of flies that hovered over us. However, the food was not worth the hype. We got the chefs platter. $50 a person. It ?looked? incredible. But?the taste was not worth it. The salmon was like sand paper?extremely overcooked. As was the oysters?so dried up it was hard to tell we got any oysters. The steak was not only burnt to a crisp where we only tasted the char from the grill but the fat was still on it and it wasn?t even chewable. With a meal like a chefs platter where it?s supposed to be the best of the best out of the kitchen?it was awful. The only thing that was good on the main course was the side dishes like the risotto underneath the salmon. I will say they redeemed themselves with the beignets. If we could have changed our plans, we would have just gone there for the dessert. (To add, we went to Miller?s a few days later for their lunch?same spectacular view but much better food). Next time, we will just go here for their beignets and skip everything else."

"What a hidden gem of a restaurant! It’s easy to say that Sanya is the most beautiful (and friendly) Japanese and Chinese restaurant around. The two chicken dishes we ordered featured plump, high-quality meat, and the sauces were thick and sticky in a delicious way that clings to your teeth, leaving you wanting more. Plus, there are plenty of other options to choose from (check out the numerous reviews praising their sushi, for example). The best part? The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a lovely conversation with our server, and although we had to wait a bit, we appreciated that they didn’t rush our dishes. Just take a look at the number of photos shared by their customers, and you’ll see that this place has brought joy to many. We were looking for a break from the endless fish and meat barbecues around OBX, and Sanya truly delivered!"

"Omg, everything was AMAZING! I was beyond presently surprised! Fried chicken so amazing, it was like my Grandma made it. I also had the most amazing beef brisket and most delicious cabbage I've ever had in my life! And when you come to the south you expect a sweet tea with dinner. The sweet tea was amazing. I'd gladly eat here for the rest of the week. And on top of everything, my server Joseph wad kind, attentive, family friendly, interacted with my children, and he gave great suggestions! I literally can't believe how perfect this dining experience was!!!"

"Amazing takeout experience from this establishment. We ordered 2lbs of snow crab legs, 1/4 lb of shrimp, hush puppies, and corn on the cob. I couldn’t find a single thing to criticize. Everything was delicious and hot, even when we got home (about 5 mins down the road). Crab legs and shrimp were cooked to perfection and very well-seasoned. Hush puppies were very large and cooked great. Corn on the cob was excellent, and not over cooked like some can be when steamed. The service was quick, we only waited about 20 mins for our food and we were able to wait outside in their picnic area. There is an option to eat out in that area for those with pets, we had our dog with us while we waited. Staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable on their product. We will be returning here on our next vacation here. We may even try the indoor dining!"

"It's a must if you are looking to save some money when eating out. We had a $11 big bacon burger the hit the spot 3 large slices of thick bacon, onion rings were crisp and not soggy and the onion didn't pull out of the batter when eating. Hush puppies were small and good for $2.50 @you can't go wrong. When you pull up and see local contractors eating here it should tell you it's not the high end eatery."

"Absolutely delightful dining experience! The crab cakes were the best I've ever tasted—truly unforgettable. We ended up sitting at the bar since it was the only available spot due to the restaurant's popularity, which is always a great sign, right? Sitting at the bar turned out to be a fantastic choice, as our server (I just wish I could recall her name) paired my crab cakes perfectly with an excellent pinot gris. The wine selection is impressive. I could rave about this place for ages, but let me just say that I highly recommend dining (and sipping) here. We will definitely be coming back!"

"trio is absolutely amazing! We went to dinner on Friday night and were absolutely impressed. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere, the service, the restaurant, everything was perfect. We chose to sit outside because the weather was lovely. Our server, Alex C., was truly outstanding. He gave us great recommendations and suggestions, and was one of the best servers we've ever had. We tried the roasted cauliflower, crab pot pie, smokey garlic shrimp, and dark chocolate cake cheesecake. The food was delicious, especially the smokey garlic shrimp. They have a fantastic beer and wine list with great suggestions for pairings. We didn't have time to explore their retail area, but it looked amazing too. We will definitely be going back tomorrow."

"I love going here, great book selection and amazing coffee. Unfortunately our last trip was less than satisfactory. It was early morning before the large line of visitors arrived. We were the only coffee orders in line and our drinks had to be remade not once but twice and the muffins we ordered were wrong, which we didn't even discover until later. I know everyone is working hard and this season is a struggle but as someone in a food service job, you still have to pay attention and give the customers what they ordered. Maybe I will come back in the fall if things slow down..."

"The place is clean, they even have a nice koi fish pond in front of the restaurant. We asked to be seated on the second floor. The waitress was very polite and took our order. After that, it went southbound. They gave my wife the wrong salad to start and I asked our waitress if it was the house salad she ordered, she said yes but we knew it was incorrect. We told another waitress and she said sorry for the mistake and she corrected it by bringing us the house salad my wife ordered. After that, the waitress brought my daughter overcooked grilled chicken for her kids pasta that tasted like charcoal We told our waitress and she took care of us by bringing us another plate of grilled chicken minus the charcoal. So, then my noodle bowl came out the vegetables were still raw. I pushed it into the broth hoping it would cook it. Once I did that, I noticed the broth wasn't hot. I took a sip and it was only luke warm. I told the waitress to heat it up and she took the bowl and brought me the same luke warm bow back. I just couldn't believe they couldn't even warm it up. I asked the waitress one more time to warm up the bowl, so she took the bow away and brought me back another luke warm bowl. It wasnt any hotter, I got upset at this point that my ramon noodle bowl was the same luke warm dish. So the manager came over and apologized and ask if I wanted something else, by that time I was done with this place. My family have finished their food and I was still hungry. I left this place hungry and upset. Needless to say, I would never recommend this place. First and last time going here."

"Food came fast, service was great. Everyone loved their Pad Thai. I had Pad khee Mao and they subbed tofu without even blinking. It was super tasty. We also devoured the fresh veggie rolls, which were clearly hand made fresh. We will he coming back again (this was the second year we ate here). Vegetarian options: They easily subbed tofu for meat on my dish, and there were distinct vegetarian options--all good as far as I could tell!"

"I ordered pizza from Pizza Stop both times I came down to the OBX this year. My first order was for a large group and we got 5 pizzas for delivery in Duck on a Friday night. I was told an hour. I started calling after an hour and a half and initially was told the pizza left 15min prior. I had a hard time getting through they were so busy. We didn't get our pizza until 2 hours after ordering. I was on the phone with them again when it arrived and I don't think it left when the first person I spoke with said it did. When it arrived it was hot. And importantly, delicious. Second time around I ordered for pickup on a Friday night. They said 30min and it was ready when I arrived a little early. The woman at the counter was friendly. And again, the pizza was delicious. I'll forgive them for being busy on the first order. Knocking off a star for that. This is now my go to pizza spot when we come down."

"This restaurant is now officially on our list of ?must eat here!!!? When we visit! We came for a late lunch, so we were starving! We had the wings and crab dip for our appetizers, the tacos some sort of coconut curry dish as our meal, and of course desserts! Everything was amazing, but that crab dip was to die for. I really could go for some of that right now to be honest! Yum! The wings were ahhhmayzing as well!! The tacos were so delicious the desserts were the perfect way to top it all off! Funnel cake fries?! Like what?! I now fully understand why there?s always a line to get in here, I can?t wait to come back and really enjoy a big dinner! *update we came back for lunch a few weeks later, made a to go order with the philly cheese steak sub and fries (OH EM GEEEE) a southwest chicken salad. So so good!!! We will keep coming back!"

"Talk about a hidden gem! We chose this location because it was right off the main drag, but boy-o-boy were we glad we did!! Friday afternoon (3pm), light traffic. Seated immediately. Wait staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Fish of the day when we visited was Mahi. All fish dishes are made with the fish of the day. We started with the blackened bites... And UH-mazing!!!! Perfectly cooked, seasoned to perfection! Lightly blackened on the outside with soft hot centers! Served over Asian slaw which held its own. We tried the Fish Sammy and Fish Tacos, definitely not disappointed!!! My Sammy was a very large portion of Mahi seasoned well with cheese and all the other good fixings on the sandwich. Served with a pasta that didn't really hit the mark (kinda bland) but don't let that overshadow the Sammy! The Fish Tacos..... Bro... SOO good. HUGE tacos and very filling for only being 2. Ours was served with wild rice, but other photos show it being served with a salad of some sort. Sad that we weren't in town long enough to take advantage of the outside seating and music in the rear of the building. Don't sleep on this one."

"Awesome spot for lunch, dinner, or drinks! The staff is incredibly friendly. Their raw bar is outstanding—definitely one of the best in Duck. Doug Watkins really went above and beyond to make our family feel welcomed and attentive to our needs. He even took the time to play golf with us at one of the island's tougher courses. Great job, Doug! We’ll definitely be back!"
