"Pretty much the quintessential ski bar. Lots of history on the walls...and ceiling. Pizza is the thing, and the Hornlihutte is king but if you're trying to meet someone, be warned its garlic turned up to 11. If you already have someone then he or she needs to eat at least a slice to be able to tolerate you. Live music for Apres and then another band ysually around 930. The line at the bar late can be brutal. I wish they would serve some beers and seltzers at another location near the dance floor to relieve the crush."

"It's still early in the season, so the restaurant hasn't quite ramped up for the winter rush yet. The menu was somewhat limited, and unfortunately, they were out of the only steak option. However, the Brussels sprout appetizer was outstanding. The decor is pleasant, though it does show some signs of wear; a refresh of the chairs could be beneficial. The dessert selection was also limited, so we decided to skip it. I really miss their s’mores bread pudding! If you find yourself on the mountain, it's a decent option, but it lacks a wow factor."

"The menu is quite extensive, offering a range of pub favorites, salads, sandwiches, and various entrees, with daily specials that change. They boast a substantial cocktail and beer selection, highlighting a wide variety of local brews. I particularly love their loaded Bloody Mary, topped with a pickle, olives, bacon, and more—it's fantastic. In terms of food quality, I’ve been consistently impressed. I’ve ordered the nachos (a must-try if you love nachos), the BBQ salad, and buffalo chicken dip—all have been excellent. While Foggy Goggle does get busy, the staff has always been attentive and friendly, even during peak times. However, if you’re looking for a quick meal, you might want to reconsider. So why not a five-star rating? It can get a bit pricey, with local beers around $12 and food items typically starting at $16. Nonetheless, I plan to keep returning to Foggy Goggle for all my après-ski needs!"

"Sliders is clearly impacted by the construction going on at the Jordan Grand Hotel. You can't get to the restaurant from inside the property; and the restaurant restrooms are outside. Nice restrooms, but outside. The food was good, albeit a little more expensive than I expected considering the hotel conditions. I had a burger which came with nothing on the side. I added fries, which cost $8. I guess for $8 I thought they might come sprinkled with gold dust. The wine list is decent; the only Cabernet on the list was out of stock (Honig), but they had an alternate that I didnt' care for. I ordered a Barbera, which they said had been opened the day prior. It tasted older than that. I did order a second glass, and at my request, they opened a fresh bottle for me. Our server did a nice job; it can't be easy working on a Monday night when the hotel is so torn up. All in...it's been a while since I was at Sliders; I think I'll wait out the construction until I try again."

"Last night was a complete disaster. Wife and I sat at the bar, no other patrons in restaurant. Ordered a Manhattan and the bartender didn't know how to make it. I told him the ingredients and all he could find was whiskey, none of the extras. Wife ordered salad, me chowder. About 1/2 hour later the chowder arrived and wife was told they had to send out to get lettuce. Chowder was ok but send out for lettuce??? I looked at the bar stock and finally found the vermuth and bitters. More than another hour passed and still no food. At this time we told staff cancel order, we were leaving. They tried to get us to stay and said food is just being plated. We left. 1 hour and 45 minutes to wait no way. Too bad but can you imagine what will happen when it gets busier. It's early in the ski season, but they shouldn't have opened until ready. Will we return- probably not. Full disclosure, the hostess wouldn't let us pay so we left a decent tip anyway."

"Once loyal fans of the mountain room turned NEVER again. Terrible terrible terrible!!! As bad as customer service gets. We had a reservation and the host placed us in the bar area not letting us know that we had no server and had to walk up to the bar to order. After waiting for 20 minutes, I walked up to the host to ask if we had a server. She watched me standing there, while she went on to wipe down the same table TWO times while the restaurant was dead, again watching me stand at the host station. She ended up moving us to a table where we had a waitress. When we said we wanted to order food the waitress looked stressed because the kitchen was closing. Would have been nice to know when the kitchen closed, as we wasted a half hour just sitting there while not one staff member came up to us. It gets better...... The waitress tells her manager that she had to put a food order in as the kitchen was closing and the manager obnoxiously rolled her eyes right in front of us. The waitress told us we had another hour until they stoped serving drinks, so we ordered one more round. A few minutes after receiving our drinks the bartended clapped her hands and yelled out to the entire restaurant time to finish up people we have a gondola to catch . Yikes. You 're not fooling us theyre not going to leave you stranded up here. We get the picture you were ready to be done with your shift. We live in the Portland area and frequent the Grill room on a regular weekly basis, and the mountain room on a regular basis when skiing every weekend. Needless to say we will no longer be stopping at any of the room establishments. Best of luck if you do!!"

"The sweet tea was disappointing as it lacked ice. There were only two staff members working and we were the only customers. However, the sandwiches were delicious. The restaurant is located next to a bar with limited parking. The dine-in dinner experience cost $10-20 per person. The food was rated a 4, service a 1, and atmosphere a 2. Recommended dish is the Italian Sub. Parking was difficult to find but there is a free parking lot available."

"We came in on A Sunday late afternoon while skiing at Sunday River. There were a couple of open tables. The hostess asked us to come back in 20 minutes because they were at capacity which we did with no issue. When we returned our hostess was quite rude and seemed overwhelmed and annoyed that we had come back. We were seated at a table and our server did not come over for at least 25 minutes. It took another 10 minutes to get our drinks, they missed our waters (which we asked for). The server did not ask us what we wanted for food. It appeared only one server was working. Eventually after trying to flag her down for fifteen more minutes she took our order. Our waitress barely paid attention to us. After we ate I left with my friend and our girlfriends stayed for drinks while we skied. They asked to go to the bar at which point the hostess told them to wait at the table for someone to come over and bring them to the bar. That never happened and they asked again at which point the hostess told them they had to leave because they were at the table past their time limit. They told her they were waiting to go to the bar and eventually were moved there. The service was even slower from there on. It overall seemed like they didn't want us there and didn't want to serve us. We spent a good amount of money and were respectful of the rules but the staff was rude and almost completely ignored us. It's disappointing because I have been coming here multiple times a year since I was a kid. Today was possibly the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant."

"A great place for après drinks and appetizers! I was really impressed by the selection of oysters. They offered heated seats and blankets by the outdoor fire pit, which was a nice touch. Tara was an excellent host for me and my mom, tending to the fire and making us feel welcomed. The interior bar had a cozy, classy atmosphere, and everyone was incredibly friendly. A special thanks to the hostess who quickly helped us get settled. I just wish they stayed open later, as it would be a fantastic late-night bar option after the kitchen closes!"

"Loveeee the Shipyard Brewing down on White Cap Lodge offers amazing burgers and chicken sandwiches for a quick table dinning meal amid the ski day. they offer a great selection of beers on tap on January 2021 the Finder and the blueberry beers on tap were most popular and savory. they also have an outdoor window during the ski months to sell quick alcohol purchases to enjoy while hanging out by the large campfire outdoors. More importantly during these covid times, the restaurant is extremely covid cautious, they have glass walls all around the bar area and in between dining tables. They also have a customer limited capacity and monitor their numbers strictly to keep the restaurant following covid19 precautionary safety guidelines."

"Reading through some of the reviews, I was kind of shocked to see so many lower ratings. Foggy Goggle is located at South Ridge at Sunday River, and I have consistently appreciated the food and service that it provides. Foggy Goggle has an expansive bar that is the central component to the restaurant, and there are varying booths and tables for patrons to sit at. There are also picnic tables on the outdoor porch that has service, or you can stand and enjoy the outdoors with a beverage. The menu is also expansive ranging from pub favorites, salads, sandwiches to varying entrees. There are always specials that change daily, and they have a large cocktail and beer list, which feature a wide range of local brews. You can also get a loaded **** Mary which has a pickle, olives, bacon, etc., which is always great. As far as food, I am always impressed with the quality. I have ordered the nachos (definitely get it if you are a nacho fan) with chicken, the BBQ salad, buffalo chicken dip...all have been really good quality.Foggy Goggle certainly does get busy, however, I have consistently received great service from the staff. They are always attentive and friendly, even when it is extremely busy. However, if you are looking for an in-and-out experience, you most likely will not receive that.Why not 5 stars? It can get a little pricey. Expect to pay $12 for any local beer, and food items are in the $16+ range. Regardless, I plan to continue coming to Foggy Goggle for all things apres ski!"

"We loved this place! Fantastic and fun collection of ski memorabilia, great atmosphere with live acoustic performers, delicious wood oven pizzas you can watch the chef’s create, yummy burgers, steak, seafood, veggie and gluten free options, tons of beer and drink choices...it’s all here. Efficient friendly servers, and very reasonable prices. Perfect choice for skiers to unwind after a day on the slopes, non skiers will enjoy though too. Family friendly but there were also groups of college age kids and couples. It’s a highly rated pub-style restaurant for a reason. We will definitely go back here!"
