"A fantastic discovery in Ketchikan, Alaska! The sight of Jack Nicholson's face in the window caught our eye, but the name is what actually brought us inside. Located just across from cruise ship dock #3, the owner welcomed us like family from the moment we entered. We shared plenty of laughs and enjoyed some great drinks. The Bloody Mary was excellent, but make sure you don’t miss out on trying a duck fart! Price per person: $20–30. Overall food rating: 5 stars!"

Beer icy strait very good. Cider very unusual.... grapefruit and lavender. Combination sounds very strange. Got a taster and it was ok. Not sweet and claggy as some can be. Refreshing surprisingly. Excellent for the local atmosphere. Thanks Price per person: $1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The proprietor is a kick. If you eaves dropped on the pub crawl you can get his show for the price of a beer or two for $3.50. Add a Duck Fart for $6. The DF is a chocolate and coffee liqueur concoction. Worth a shot (pun intended). It's a small shop so I'm sure tips are appreciated. Price per person: $1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Ver carta

Don’t hesitate to ring the bell—if you dare! This charming local spot offers great value, with pints of beer priced lower than a gallon of gas! If you’re on a cruise, keep an eye out for a coupon that can score you a free pint glass. Overall, it’s an affordable place with an extensive selection of liquor and a wide variety of local beers.

The beer at Icy Strait is excellent. The cider, however, is quite unusual, featuring grapefruit and lavender. The combination may sound strange, but I tried a sample and found it to be decent. It wasn't overly sweet or thick like some ciders can be, and surprisingly, it was quite refreshing. Overall, it contributes to the vibrant local atmosphere.

"As we began to order food and drinks, I think the staff quickly realized how much we were spending, and suddenly we received excellent service from everyone in the restaurant. Our server was fantastic—she worked diligently to ensure that we were well taken care of, and we all agreed she did an amazing job. The highlight for me was discovering BBQ chicken with Alabama White Sauce on the menu, something I had previously enjoyed in Alabama. It came with mac and cheese, another favorite of mine. We laughed, chatted, and cherished some family time during our last stop before heading back to Vancouver. Overall, the cruise had been a lot of fun, but having real food on land was a refreshing change after a while of cruise dining. When our food arrived, the white sauce did not disappoint! It brought back memories of my meal in Mobile, Alabama, and I was thrilled to have it again. Everyone else was satisfied with their meals as well, and even though I have a strong aversion to seafood, I at least tried salmon in Alaska, which I didn’t enjoy due to its strong flavor. After settling the bill, the kids were thrilled when a wolf approached our table just as we were getting ready to leave. It seemed tame, but we decided it was best to leave quickly with all the children in tow! Our final amusing moment was in the restroom, where I spotted the best sign ever above the toilet. You’ll have to go see it for yourself; that’s all I’m going to say!"
